Tisha BAv Lamentations
Просмотров 439 часов назад
Sadness and Sorrow are often part of life. We tend to deal with them in two unhelpful ways - either we downplay them and say, "I'm doing fine" or we let them get the best of us and wallow in them for far too long. The Jewish holiday of Tisha B'Av shows us a better way.

    Tax money should only go to Public schools . . sounds of the greed and propaganda spoken so much to help the teacher unions keep their own interest. When I went to Public schools there were great teachers and some just waiting to retire. Ones that failed the student. One that the unions wouldn't allow to be fired. If you care about the kids and our communities, let the money follow the student. Now let's flip the conversation and say no homeschooling or private schools you don't have enough schools and we need more schools bonds because the people in charge don't know how to do their jobs. If they did we wouldn't need school bonds. Budgeting and management is a failed process in public schools. All those homeschooling and private schools allows for you to drive a better car, live in a better house, go on better vacations, eat better. You should thank them because they are sacrificing for your enjoyment. Now with your greedy and propaganda you say no money can't follow the student. We don't need competition. That's right you and many others only go to one store, you don't look for the best price and value. All these words are truth. Take time and just think about all the lies we have been told over the years. I'm pro America but America is not the best country in the world. Other countries have better health care and education than we do. It doesn't need to be that way. If you start to think and look into the words I have here, look into and don't believe the propaganda. Demand the money follow the student. Many other states do this and they are better for it. In regards to misconduct in not just one schooling option but also in the public schools as well. When this is discovered, it needs to be addressed. In the meantime, start to make the changes for the student and the community.

    The idea of being "chosen" is in my understanding what the Calvinists base certain beliefs on. The part I have trouble with is what about those who are not "chosen"? Or, is everyone "chosen" but many fail to act upon their being "chosen"?

    • @EaglesOnTheHill
      @EaglesOnTheHill 21 день назад

      Great Question! As w look at how the Bible speaks of this doctrine of "predestination", it only speaks of it one way and for one reason. It only speaks of "God chose you before the creation of the world"; it never says that God chose some at that same time for damnation (ala Calvin). It only speaks of the doctrine in the context of bringing comfort to Christians troubled by their sin and by their lack of faithfulness. In other words, to assure us that God's got us! As to those who don't believe, the Bible consistently speaks of that rejection as being their own fault. "Oh how I longed to gather you together ... but YOU were not willing!" Jesus says. We call this dichotomy the "crux theologoram" the "cross of the theologian". This teaching does not square with human logic. Calvin tried to square it up by teaching "double predestination" and others tried to square it up by putting the responsibility for salvation OR damnation on the human alone. Lutherans are content with the lack of logic, believing that God's ways are higher than our ways and God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts.

    • @thomasgapp5519
      @thomasgapp5519 21 день назад

      Lutherans are content with the lack of logic explains it all to me! It must be two truths, God chose me and I chose God. Growing up in the Lutheran church I learned that by free will I chose God. However, during a study of John this past year I learned God has chosen me. It’s still a bit confusing to me.

    I rejected the LCMS because it teaches that the Pastor speaks for Jesus on earth and we come into contact with God's grace through the pastor. We have one intercessor who is Jesus Crist and we are grafted directly into God's vine not through another person. We are all just different parts of the body of Christ..aka the bride of Christ. We are not a bride of a bride.

    • @EaglesOnTheHill

      @@nilsalmgren4492 Well, God gives us His grace in His Word and Sacraments (Baptism and Holy Communion). So when you read His word, God communicates the good news of His Son Jesus to you and creates and sustains faith in your heart. And when a person is baptized, whether by a pastor or by someone else, God also works there in the same way. And when we receive Holy Communion, once again, we receive His grace. For good order in the public administration of the Sacraments and in the preaching of God's word, the Scripture is clear that we are to ordain (or whatever word you want to use) elders/pastors/bishops (all the same thing, just different words) among us. St. Paul is clear in Titus that without what we'll call "Pastors", the church is lacking. It's not that you as an individual cannot go to God directly (through Jesus, or course) but that pastor/elder/bishop are also given as gifts to God's church to lead us to God and to speak God's word to us (much like the prophets and priests of the Old Testament). I hope that makes sense and is helpful

Then Peter responded, 47 “Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?” 48 And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. It eventually says America isn't the greatest nation on earth. It used to be. America has slipped. We believe by the elected leaders, the propaganda they tell us the other countries say about us, but it's our own leaders that tell the lies. Lies that if we question, we are look down upon. Other countries have better Healthcare, better food, better lifestyle. Yes USA has its qualities but America has slipped sad to say. I'm pro America but when leaders that we think are good, might have done good at times but send our tax dollars and money that is borrowed to other countries I can't and won't vote for them. If they are going to act like the opposite side then they deserve to be voted out. We wouldn't keep our own jobs a day if we perform like they do. So ask and encourage them to step aside. I don't think Biden speaks on behalf of the average, registered democrat party voter. He is the consummate politician who lies as easily as he speaks. He is no longer able to distinguish truth from fiction. He speaks on behalf of the small, elite power-base that promotes far-left extremes. In contrast, I don't think Trump speaks on behalf of the GOP. Rather, he speaks on behalf of the average registered republican party voter who is "fed up" with the direction this country is headed; the wokism, the "1619 project"; the "reproductive rights" agenda (aka abortions for everyone at any age of the fetus for any reason); the re-writing of history in a manner that is more ideology than fact, and I could go on. An accomplished high school student debater could argue Trump under the table using simple facts, knowledge of history and data. Trump has serious flaws, including an ego the size of Rhode Island and he is not the best we (America) can do. BUT, he's the best we can do given the two choices - which says more about us than we care to admit.

This occurred in a State that chose not to ratify the 13th amendment abolishing slavery. (note - Texas, later voted to ratify - long after the ratification had made the amendment law.)

      The Marxist agenda is based on group identity and then blaming the "other" for our sins or failures. Government then offers to step in and provide correction and redemption at the cost of our freedom and perhaps our souls. So the governing subclass that lust only for their own power, has a corrupt incentive to promote this denial of personal responsibility and denial of biblical teaching. This deceives these grouped "voters" into feeling redeemed. Christians should know better.

By "right" people, I am referring to those (in the case of the State Board of Education) people who seek what is best for the students. Period. The leftists are controlled by teacher unions whose main concerns are their own protection and promoting far left (aka "woke") agendas - not what is best for kids ....

    Question: Tell me where one can obtain an inflation adjusted, joint life annuity, for the cost of one's social security taxes? I bet you will appreciate the monthly income when you retire.

    In the video I spoke of Yom HaShaoah, and said that everything stops for 1 minute. That is an error. Everything stops for 2 minutes. To get a sense of what that looks like, check out ruclips.net/video/f7aZ0GsVoy0/видео.html

    It is amazing (and sad) that at the same time women are aborting "unwanted" babies, other couples are desperately wanting children of their own. My hat's off to the couples who try to adopt embryos and the troubles they endure to achieve success.

    They should make the university students that want to protest watch this first. Then they can decide. Vivek Ramaswamy, has it right the kids just want to belong to something and have left the church. So they are easy prey.

    this is a more insightful analysis/commentary on current events in the mid-east than anything in mainstream media or from US State Department....it slices through the rhetoric to expose the core.
