Can you maybe not spoil so much movie endings? What's up with that? I was doing the dishes and had to throw my headphones away because you spoil movies to make your point.

Shit, I just wanted a story about how humanity unites against forces beyond their understanding. "The power of humanity!" and all that. The first 2 seasons conveyed that pretty well. After that, it becomes shit imo since the author tries too hard to make the story complex and 'deep', by adding all these political narratives, as well as time travel. I don't really feel like typing everything, but my expectations vs the reality of AOT disappointed me. This mf Eren went from "I will kill all the Titans to avenge my mother!" to "I will kill my mother in order to insure that I become a psychopath who commits genocide on his own species!" 🤦🏿‍♂️ Anyone who likes this garbage probably didn't watch anime before AOT. Because no matter how you try to rationalize it, the rumbling made NO FUCKING SENSE!!! Neither did the ending!

This was supposed to be a fairly simple video I intended to finish and upload about a month ago. But then I caught Covid. I somehow managed to avoid it all these years, but it finally tracked me down. The first two days were absolute hell, and it took several weeks for it to go away completely. So that kind of derailed my plans a bit. But more gaming content is on the way, though I haven’t fully made up my mind which video to do next. However, if you haven't seen my Ukraine bundle video I would greatly appreciate it if you would give it a watch, as I put a lot of work in, and the view count right now is kind of depressing.

didnt completly hate i but it was pretty disappointing and had a lot of flaws and for the series that it was it, it definitely could have ended 50x better. a very mid-bad ending.

I loved AOT overall but you can tell Isayama had no forethought while writing. The whole of season four just felt like he wanted to write a different story altogether. I say this because so many characters and setups let to nothing. I liked a lot of what he was going for in the final season by the way.

To me the ending just did not Make sense especially the Part were Eren cry over Mikasa.

In her life, she had spent her whole life as a dehumanized slave without any acknowledgement of her own humanity. Eren taught her autonomy and freedom. Then Armin arrived to fight Eren, and Ymir watched his every movement closely, even stealing him into the paths with the Okapi and trapping him there. She watched his conversation with Zeke where he shared that the meaning of life is in appreciating the little moments and the love you already have rather than chasing an unattainable dream. In her life, she longed for an unattainable love/validation from King Fritz who was incapable of giving it to her, since he's a monstrous psychopath. She lived and died waiting for something she would never receive, rather than living for what she had (her daughters). Armin taught her the true importance in life. Lastly, Mikasa. From the moment Ymir noticed Mikasa's love for Eren, she was intrigued. She began to peak through Mikasa's lifetime memories, causing her headaches. Then Mikasa killed Eren despite loving him, knowing it's the right thing to do and proving she's not a slave. Ymir herself couldn't do this in her own life, instead choosing to die for the monster she loved, instead of killing him. Mikasa taught her that love does not equal submission. In the end, all three of the main trio were instrumental in setting Ymir free. Eren lit the embers, Armin stoked the flame, Mikasa nurtured the flame into an inferno. Together they set Ymir free. In her last moments, she had a vision of what she wished she had done, what she WOULD have done had she received these three lessons earlier in her life. She would have protected her beloved daughters, the truly important and precious things in her life, rather than being a slave to the abusive king. If she were given another chance, she would have let him die. Acknowledging this and making peace with her tragic life and the decisions she made, allowed her to let go. She finally moved on, and in this moment, she appears not as an immature child, but as a grown adult woman. I don't disagree the ending has numerous problems, but at no point does it betray its themes, characterization, or trajectory. I feel it could have been taken in a different direction, and still done that, but this direction still makes sense. It just isnt good. I don't understand why people want to claim it just doesnt make sense.

12:30 if the king could just make titans out of nothing, then i think it does make sense for eren to create an entire batch of titans for the rumbling, because why would he destroy paradis only line of defense? the eldians are a lot more vulnerable without that wall

One thing i also didnt understand, maybe because i didn't catch it, was the wall titans evading villages and towns from Paradis. If Eren released the Titans from all walls, including Rose and Sina, wouldnt those titans wipe the nearby towns?

I hate turn based combat, unless it's paper mario or maybe a bit of pokemon. Some games add complicated systems like xenoblade, those just turn me off even more.

Alliance members are the worst. They teamed up with people who killed their friends and relatives (Gabi, Annie and Reiner) and acted like they did nothing.... I cried when Petra died by Annie's kick. I hate Annie and Reiner so much. Worst last season for any anime everrrrr.... I loved it so much and Isayama ruined it causing a huge disappointment in many fans like me.

Personally I don't think Mikasa's character was assassinated at the end... She did move on but still loved Eren till the end... Not after her gaining the memory of the first timeline where Eren and Mikasa spent there remaining lives in the cabin... Also there is a highest possibility that Eren has actually confessed his love to her, possibly at the paths, where he might have told her how to stop him and where he is in the titan... Then it might make some sense for her kissing his severed head (although I still find it strange)... Anyways back to the point... She did move on with Jean and married him... But we can see when she died she had white flowers, which symbolises 'purity'... So high chances that the child was not hers but was adopted... And we all know that in the past, females can't adopt a child if they are not married... Also there is another possibility that the child is their biological, since Mikasa is the queen of Azumabito and she would need an heir for the future but the child was conceived through artificial insemination, thus making her virgin at the same time... Hence Mikasa did move on but has kept Eren in her heart forever... Even Jean knew this from the start and respected their love.

I think the ending looked strange is because it was actually not planned at first... Isayama wanted to end AOT where all of Eren's friends died while fighting even Eren dies too... But Isayama later changed it. Unfortunately the manga was already halfway released so he can't change the many things to make the ending more sense.

Ummm... I only want to say one thing... Founding Titan can't see the future or past... It's the attck titan who could see it... So Yimir wouldn't see her past and future...

Question: when Eren and Zick were talking in Marley, why Zick said they shouldn't touch each other in that moment and threw the ball instead? They agreed to do the etanasation plan (Eren thinking he had the last word on the power of the founder and Zick knowing he had it). After that, why didn't they touch on the airship? What were they waiting for exactly?

Im an ending defender cuz up until the ending this show was basically a flawless masterpiece that blew everything else I had seen out of the water. However there are def problems with the ending. With that being said, some of your points are abismal😂😂 You didn’t even comment on eren’s conversation with armin cuz the meaning of it obviously went over your head, he’s kinda like Paul atreides in the sense where this all-encompassing power has left him basically without free will and it’s something he’s been struggling with as he feels like he deserves to be in hell for his actions, he also feels like an idiot because he knows the cycle of violence is inevitable, so regardless of the changes he made and how long they last, eventually, the cycle will repeat in one way or another. Armin is mad and punches eren due to his manipulation of his childhood best friend mikasa, but takes a step back after eren starts talking about the consequences of the rumbling, BECAUSE he feels responsible, he was the one who showed eren the “outside world” and planted this idea of a free and beautiful uninhabited world for them to rebuild upon into eren’s mind, which inevitably led to everything that happened. For that reason, armin feels like he should bear some of the burden and lets him know they are both going to hell. Im sure you also didn’t like eren crying cuz u wanted to believe eren was this emotionless gigachad but no he is a human being who has emotions like anyone else, this is the first and only time he got to share those with his best friend after shouldering the power and responsibility he did. HOWEVER, I can agree that some of the dialogue could have been changed a bit, eren crying is fine but the “at least 10 years” is kinda cringe and takes away from the situation. Also, saying the point of the story is “all life is meaningless” is insane like did you watch/read it fr? If anything it’s the exact opposite, the ending explored how the meaning of life is for each individual person to appreciate what they have and live their lives enjoying the little moments given to them. Saying Reiner and Levi should have died also tells me that you didn’t understand either of their characters. Reiner is a suicidal mental wreck who has been looking for an out the entire show, and by the finale he was able to recognize his life as something of value that he did not want to lose and chose to sacrifice himself anyways, yet he still survived. He has to live with his guilt and try the rest of his life to atone. Levi vowed to take up the will of his comrades, so him living after the titans were gone is him fulfilling that promise, Levi’s death would have been pointless, he’s always been cursed with the strength to outlive his peers and lives with the responsibility to make sure there deaths were not in vain. Both of their survivals make perfect sense and were foreshadowed throughout the series. However it is still a little crazy that no one dies in the final fight, I could have been down for Connie or Jean sacrificing themselves or basically anyone else but it’s crazy to me that someone who talks like they know the story inside and out claims it should have been Levi or zeke😂😂 also Levi killing zeke was always going to happen, he couldn’t just let him live, all of these people who meant a lot to Levi died just to give Levi the chance to kill zeke, he felt he had to kill him so their deaths would be meaningful and not in vain. The ending scene is centuries and centuries in the future and just shows how eren was right that eventually violence and hatred would prevail. I understand as a mange reader how that was annoying, releasing after the story was wrapped up, but in the sense of the story I don’t see why there’s any problem, makes perfect sense and was foreshadowed for a very long time. Mikasa killing eren is pretty simple and straight forward. Ymir sees mikasa and eren’s relationship as a parallel to her and king fritz, which is evident when looking at the story. Mikasa killing eren regardless of her love for him showed Ymir firsthand that it was possible for her as well. Eren always knew he was going to die regardless of whether he wanted to or not, and his goal was to paint the picture that the “devils of paradis” were the saviors of the world ensuring that they could lead safe and peaceful lives for the time they had left. So in this way he was able to accomplish almost everything he wanted, he destroyed his enemies and got rid of titans for the lifetimes of his friends. The whole founding titan transcends time thing is a bit confusing but eren says himself due to being able to see the past present and future all at once, your mind gets all jumbled up and it fucks with your head. Due to that it’s pretty hard to assume that Ymir knew everything tht was going to happen the whole time. Due to her mentality I don’t think that’s the case. Throughout the ending she seems to be observing and learning through Armin and mikasa, changing her views on humanity and love which point towards the idea that she did not have the exact answer for how things would pan out. With that being said though, there are some parts of the ending that aren’t fully explained such as what I just said about Ymir, how zeke was able to awaken the past shifters, eren’s colossal titan form, and other things such as the intricacies of the hallucigenia, but I can forgive those plot holes in service of the story at hand. However, After watching this video I can see that you have your own idea for what everything in the ending represented and it seems like no one’s gonna change your mind😂 just thought I’d share my opinions which are more based on evidence from the show and less on personal grievances. Film is subjective, so you saying that people who like the ending are “objectively wrong” comes across as pretty ignorant and kinda makes u seem like a prick. Isayama carefully crafted this story with many underlying messages and themes, a lot of which u seemed unable to pick up, likely due to your reading comprehension, but excusing things you don’t understand as “lazy/bad writing” and not elaborating much further just shows how you are too lazy to try and understand the meaning behind the show. Oh what you mean "the story heavily implied that Levi was about to follow Erwin's footsteps"? The last thing haunting Levi was that his last promise to Erwin was that he would kill the beast titan, and he held heavy sentiment to that all through out the fourth season and was cooperating with beast titan only to fuck up Marley in the first place, he choose "the greater good" over petty sentiments, he could kill Zeke after they've won the war.

In number two one could argue that the reason why dead shifters were allowed to manifest their titan form and help the alliance was that in the time of Rumbling Eren held the power of the Founding Titan, and he even said to the alliance via fucking telepathy (xD) that they are free to stop him, and it must have apply only to dead shifters who were stuck in the Paths ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

The worst thing about this situation is that NOBODY enjoys this. Nobody likes random encounters, fluff and fillers. If your lean game is 20 hours then so be it. Don't go around making it 50 hours though this kind of bullshit. P4G was such a wasted potential. Having to grind for ingame days sucked soooo hard. Impossible to beat the boss without running the generated castle and fighting stupid enemies over and over.

I agree with most of your points, except with the turn based one. Many JRPG's stand out because of their combat, particularly classic Final Fantasy, which has arguebly the best turn-based combat ever. Also, JRPG'S nowadays do not have turns anymore, as they tend to be by far more action oriented, including Final Fantasy itself.

This is one of the best videos on why AoT's ending SUCKED. You did great on this well done critique. Im sure Serenity has this saved into his Public Playlist on why AoT's Ending is objectively bad. Very succinct and coherent and more well written than the entire AoT Ending hilariously so. 😂 Well, at the very least we have Attack on Titan Requiem to fix the story since Isayama doesn't even know how to write an good and coherent ending. 🤷 The legit fans, not the Brainless Sheep Ending Defenders, will fix Attack on Titan themselves.

Eren killing his mom, Eren was controlled by Ymir the whole time, Eren trying to pull a lelouch via brittinia, Armin not being mad at Eren for Genocide but mad for him for hurting mikasa’s feeling, Eren’s whole incel breakdown for mikasa, Armin thanking Eren for killing 80% of the world, Mikasa was the main character the whole time, Ymir was in loved with the king, Titan powers and the curse of Ymir is gone, No big character deaths, Annie dosen’t lose her father and doesn’t suffer at all, Pieck wishes she talked to Eren, Reiner saying “Eren what a man you are”, Everyone forgives Eren, Levi giving the biggest F you to Erwin, Hange and the other scouts, the Marleyeans and the entire world not only believing Armin and the alliance defeated Eren but also letting them live even though an Eldian destroyed their homes, killed majority of they’re people, and almost eradicated their entire race, Historia marrying her bully and having a child with him, Reiner sniffing a letter, mikasa never taking off that scarf, mikasa forever will be obsessed with Eren, she will never move on and Eren is a bird. *O N L Y Y M I R K N O W S* Yep safe to say this was the worst ending ever.

I agree with some of the things u said and disagree with others but Levi not dying was very important...it emphasizes his theme that he is the strongest and can survive everything but ultimately he loses everyone...also at the end of no regrets he says ERWIN IS GAZING AT SOMETHING I CANNOT EVEN SEE...so he had to finally see what Erwin was gazing back then and he tells the same

And even then it is clearly stated that the timeline is set in stone and is a construct of Erens desires which are accepted by Eren in 131. Most of the points made in the video are trash and this is 1 example. Dont have the time to go through every 1. Even the last point was awful. It was made insanely clear that the bombing was far into the future and that the alliance did make an impact. Even the kid in the final panel was a direct foil to Ymir entering the tree.

Thanks for confirming my own bias that playing all these old JRPGs is just a waste of time
