A warranty for the keyless ride FOB?

I bought it with my Sargent seat, it’s their pod for the RS. Love that thing holds a bottle of water, tire pump, tools and tire patch kit. How do you like your RS?

Glad you agree! The good far out weighs the bad of that bike I really love my RS. I will most likely buy another one the new R. 1300 RS is rumored to be coming out spring 2025 so perhaps 2026 would be the year for me to get a new one.

@@Texas2Tires I have three BMWs. R1200S, K1300S and the R1250RS. The RS is the mile muncher winner and just easy handling . Still like the others for their characters. K1300 is a beast. R1200s is so light and timeless design. The RS has won me over as being the best overall bike I have owned.

Well I would’ve enjoyed riding it but that particular bike was already sold. The dealership nor the new owner obviously didn’t want miles put on it. I’ll have to wait for a test ride when they get more in.

@@ddrsonorglad to hear you’re enjoying it. There seems to be some RUclipsrs hating on the new GS / GSA stating there’s all kinds of issues. Guessing you aren’t experiencing any issues?

@@Texas2Tires I rode the 1300 GS for 9000km, it had its recall of the starter relais; but that was done during a regular service. No issues at all, superb bike. I (we) switched to the GSA, because me wife enjoyed more and more to drive with me as a pillion. In the meantime BMW introduced ASA…… one drive with this ASA….. we were sold 😎

The new RS with the same motor and ASA system is rumored to be hitting dealerships in the Spring 2025. You might want to wait and test ride both. However if you’re looking for a more upright riding position with off-road capabilities, then the new GS might be your bike.

For Texas and my riding habits, I’d say this jacket is four season. However, there are some days that it gets done to freezing and I won’t ride during those days.

The purpose of the wings is to generate downforce at high speeds, helping prevent the front wheel from lifting.

The winglets on the front of the bike is there to put downward air pressure on the front end to help with front tire traction. No I would not buy one. My old back would hate me LOL, plus it is out of my price range at around $34,000. Yes please do check out the jacket video. I really like it.

Not sure. But previously I was riding around with the Akra, stock headers with CAT and my exhaust didn’t sputter or gurgle during engine braking. This Saturday my local Ducati dealer is unveiling the all new 2025 Panigale V4S. I’m going to head over and make a video weather permitting. My buddy just sold his 2018 Panigale V4. He was sad to see it go but he wasn’t using it nearly as much as his BMW S1000XR. The Ducati had really limited fuel range and it cooked his inner thighs which sucked here in the Texas Summer. Safe Journeys!

Initially I would say I want my clutch as well. However I only use it from 1st to 2nd gear and that’s about it all my other shifts are using the quick shifter. I’d really have to test ride one to make a final decision.

@ Right on, brother. I sold my R 1250 RT about a year and a half ago. It was a 2020 that I got in Vegas the first day the casinos opened up after Covid. Riding a 2021 Africa Twin CRF 1100 (non-DCT) that I bought from a friend right now, but I miss that bike every day. Love that RS! I’ve always loved the GS and had an 800 GSA once, but once you get used to something like an RT or, I presume, the RS, you’re really spoiled for anything else.

Thanks for watching and commenting. The toys were deposited at the meeting point in Temple. They were then loaded onto an 18 wheeler and driven out to the air field in Lampasas. Toward the end of the video you can see the volunteers separating the gifts into different boxes that will be transported to different charities around the three counties.

I use an insta360 for when I’m riding and talking to the camera. I use a GoPro 9 helmet mounted for test rides so viewers can see the cockpit. However I wouldn’t buy a GoPro better spend on a DJI Osmo action 5 if you want a helmet mounted camera. The GoPro has given me all kinds of problems over the years. Many of my friends have also had issues. And for interviews I use my iPhone 13 and DJI wireless mic 2. Happy filming. Any other questions let me know. Happy to help if I can.

Yes, after reading some more reviews/ watching some videos - the DJI Osmo action feels like a better choice- as it also appears to 'natively' support some kind of wireless/bluettoth microphones- that DJI also sells (like lapel mikes). Since DJI also appears to make some of the drones- perhaps there might be easier future interoperability if i were to go that direction. If using the insta360- does the video it is recording- also somehow automatically record the audio? it must be paired somehow to the audio source? perhaps to a sena/cardo? if not- is there a mike inside the helmet - ?

@@bikramjitganguly I pair my insta360 wirelessly to my dji mic 2 transmitter in my helmet. I put the receiver in my tank bag. You just have to play with the gain when putting a transmitter in your helmet, so the wind and engine sounds don't drown out your voice.

Well you're getting your monies worth that's for sure. In my case, I think it is just an aesthetic add on.

@Texas2Tires TechSpec are the gold standard for BMW's. I didn't see you install it but did you also get the short strip to put on the top of your tank closest to your seat?

@@Pyrrho_ Yes the quality is good. I have a number of friends that have them on their bikes. Yes I got the center piece, you can see it installed in the video.

@Texas2Tires Dunno if this makes a difference but I also have the 840mm sport seat fitted, which places my thighs a bit higher up on the tank. I think it's mostly rider hip to knee length though.

@@Pyrrho_ In my case its knee to ankle. If I tip toe on the pegs my thighs touch the grips.

I like the way they look, so yes they are just for looks now and protecting the tank from scratches. I don't believe they will damage the tank. I'd heat them up and peel them off. It will leave a large glue mark on the tank. Goo Gone and some elbow grease should be able to remove the glue marks. Thanks for watching.

@@Texas2Tires Depends on how you ride too a bit I think. I try to bend more at my hips while keeping my back straighter, and really use my thighs to hold onto and help shift my body weight while cornering.

@@Pyrrho_ Agreed. However, in my case regardless how much I move forward or back on the seat, my thighs still can't reach the grips. They only touch if I get up on my toes and move all the way forward crotch against the tank. At least they look good and protect the tank. They weren't that expensive, so I'm OK with the situation.

The radiator acts as a heat sink drawing heat away from the radiator. I went on a low ride the other day and my running temperature according to my TFT was between 160-180F Normal temps should be around 190-220F. However the outside temperature wasn’t hot. It was 60-70F. The real test will be next summer in 100+ F degree weather here in Texas.

I feel for you. My friend recently got some tabs and they sound mean.

I would not get this bike. I like the RS too much. Yes I got a new jacket and will be making a video soon. Tomorrow will be my first long ride with the jacket.

Good idea. I checked the guard after my first test ride. And it actually radiates heat and acts like a heat sink. I’m gonna check my operating temperatures on my TFT next time I go out

Yeah lining those bolts up can be tricky. Go for it, it’s not hard to do just kind of a pain lining up the holes and getting the fairings back in place.

Well it definitely isn’t zero impact. However because this guard is attached to the radiator it acts as a heat sink assisting to dissipate more heat

You are very gutsy to do that! How long did it take? Does BMW offer a radiator guard?

@ took about 2 hours. If I didn’t have to film, it would have been faster. 😊
