I should say that I did this whilst the blue and red lights were flashing - so I would suggest you do the same and wait till the green boiler light (the flame symbol (🔥) at top-left on the display cover) is OFF before removing the cap. All the best to everyone out there! Also thank you @peterwang4307! I followed the instructions on you insightful Worcester boiler syphon video (ruclips.net/video...

VOTE HERE : www.reed.co.uk/film/2012/shortlist#pd_a_6184658 On their way to the top floor for an interview, two suits - Simon and Kevin - get trapped in a lift. Personalities soon begin to clash and tempers fray, but as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait... This film was made in 7 days for the 2012 Reed film competition.

    Did you have to refill the syphon after you emptied it. I think I have the same problem now, and it's due to be minus for the next few days.

      @francoannan Год назад

      HI there - no, should be nothing to refill, you just pop off that cap on the siphon and have a bucket etc under to catch the water / grit - then replace the cap and press reset boiler (I turned both the hot water + central heating settings to 'off' (vs on / twice / etc) but that was just to be safe), once reset, everything should come back on - but it's likely this cycle will repeat because basically the outside pipe where all this water should be draining to is frozen = water can't deposit = fills that siphon = boiler shuts off! So cap - bucket - reset. Guess if you smell gas etc - then you gotta call the gas people/plumbers etc but hoping you get through this cold snap and great if this measure helps you out!

    Get that boiler serviced. Pressure gauge is far to high, heat exchanger needs a cleaning, burner seal probably gone.

    If your condensate trap is filled with gunk & grey water, the boiler has not been serviced for a while, and now your pressure vessel is also on its way.

    i have the same boiler and i would guess the drain pipe was frozen outside and that is why you got the build up and it may happen again if the pipe is still frozen stopping the syphon from emptying

    As an experienced and qualified gas engineer... Would just like to say please don't attempt what you are watching on RUclips... You may think you're doing a great DIY job.. But there is a simple reason we have to train every 5 years to stay qualified and there is a simple reason you are not a qualified plumbing and gas engineer... It's about the safety aspects.. All you have done is now created anpther problem.. Just get a qualified engineer round once a y tree ar for a service to keep your boiler in good health.. There are defects on that specific boiler that you won't even know about that COULD be harmful to your health. I don't play with the brakes on my car, why... Because I'm. Not a mechanic.. The principle is simple enough but I don't know what to do when or if I'm doing it wrong from watching a RUclips video. Stay safe

      1) my boiler is now fixed and working again 2) as I made sure to state several times in the video - no gas-related elements are manipulated; you're taking a cap off a tube and releasing some water, then pressing restart on your boiler 3) when there are no engineers available for hours or days, and with cost-of-living crisis squeezing people left right and centre, people will need help and safe solutions that they can try at no cost - that is exactly what this video is. 4) I also had a newborn, and this was during the horrid cold snap - so if there's a non-gas based solution I can try as the house begins to freeze and there is no water in the house, then any reasonable human adult is going to try that option! 5) the engineer came out and re-confirmed that every step taken was measured and accurate. 6) have a great day and Merry Christmas!!

      Wow, so you can't change your brakes that mean no one should clean the trap on the boiler surely you also calling spark to change your light bulb...

      @@Sekcjakomentarzyy Bless. Its not about being able to or not being able to.. Its about knowing what you are doing, why you are doing it and what to do of it goes wrong.. Which if you aren't experienced in a certain trade the physical act may look simple.. But if you have next to no idea what could go wrong... You may never be lucky enough to know. But you crack on bud

      What you have emptied out is a condensate trap, this needs to be refilled with water after emptying. The reason being it acts just like the trap under your sink. Having the condensate trap full of water stops the poisonous flue fumes from coming through the trap.

      We had similar issue a while ago. To empty the syphon is a diy job. It’s very easy, there are steps on manuals. I get that anything to do with gas we should leave it for boiler „engineers”. But the basics maintenance tasks should be always down to owner. Every plumber would love if you call them every year to service your broiler . Cost of call out is very expensive these days. Most of them take cash and avoid paying taxes - this is what I have witnessed over the years. I never seen honest plumber, they all try to make a big thing out of nothing, even there is a simple issue. I would never leave them alone with my boiler, I stay to watch them. Before I call them I would normally know what’s wrong with the boiler and then just watch their steps. I’m personally qualified in many fields (some including City and Guilds qualifications. I done them for fun where I wanted to learn something. Maybe I can look into plumbing so I could service my boiler. My unkle was a plumber, I always heard his stories about the job.

    You still have an issue as it is overpressurising ...expansion vessel is empty of air prv opens at 3 bar ..i think they should run at about 2bar

    • @norb0254
      @norb0254 Год назад

      @Silverback Matt also the PRV should kick in about 3 bar and he is at 4 bar .And with it being in the RED it should alert him that something is wrong

      Thanks for highlighting - yes I clocked that and was able to bleed a radiator to release some of the pressure after uploading this video. I'd topped the water up right to the max of the green line but when the boiler started working again the pressure went up a bit more. Well spotted.
