That Treasury Official giving the exposition to M and Bond was the same actor who played the finance company boss (and then becomes the Governor of the Bank of England I think) decades later in Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister.

Please observe that the bank of England fellow removed the ring from the cigar. That's because only a complete bounder leaves the label on a cigar.

Bernard Lee brought a wonderful hard edge to his role; the Bond films were so well made and cast.

If you look closely you can see the actor clipping the cigar, doesn't actually do it for real. Just mimics it

Not very interesting fact but the actor playing the Colonel played a banker in an Episode of Yes Minister back in the late 80s and 90s. He was talking about money then too😂

There's TV series dedicated to idiots who take out loans, buy equipment, hire friends and relatives and move to Alaska where they break their backs for 11 months and come up with less than one ounce of pure gold. The smart man just steals it from someone who has already dug it up.

The PPK was great for its time, but, in my opinion, it’s no longer a sensible choice. It’s too heavy for pocket carry, and there are countless better options for any other type of carry, so it’s largely irrelevant. Now, if Walther could address the weight by introducing a polymer .32 PPK (and add a slide stop), that would interest me. I’m honestly surprised that they haven’t done so in all this time. It would be a great pocket gun, but for the weight.

Fun fact when Ian Fleming served in the Navy during WWII he was issued the Beretta 418 which he gave Bond originally. There’s a lot of question as to why he changed it to the Walther but I will admit it fit like a glove.

Love the way that Bond makes the toffs realise that they know absolutely nothing about fine brandy. It reminded me of Albert Einstein's famous comment: "In the really big questions we "experts" are very rarely correct".
