Can't help messin' with Roadrunners! We saw this guy run across the road, then I cooed at him to see if he'd show himself - never seen one wag his tail like that before!

Lovely video with beautiful birds! Loved watching them in the rain ☔️ 🦜 🥰 thank you for sharing! Greetings from Costa Rica 🦥
Thank you!
Great series of videos. Thanks. Watching in the UK.
Thanks, guys!
Great video. Watching in the UK
Glad I found you guys, as I couldn't find your comment about transportation in the other video! Yes, Costa Rica Gateway can arrange transportation from the airport to your lodge; they took care of all my transportation needs! Contact them directly! And thanks for the kudos!😃
I received an e-mail with a comment from The Cornells, but I can't find their comment here, so I'll paste it here and hope they see this: "Many thanks for this great video. Watching from the UK. Do you know if you able to use Gateway Transportation to take you from the airport to a lodge, rather than normal taxis? " Yes, Costa Rica Gateway will arrange to have someone pick you up at the airport and take you to your lodge; I always used them for my transportation needs!
👍💚
Using playback to agitate other birds is a disgraceful practice which cannot be defended. It's selfish (you want to see the birds more than care for them); unprofessional; and the sign of an inadequate birder. I know it is widespread but we need to stamp out this menace from true birding.
Thank you for your comments! I'll consider that the next time a guide uses playback!
Costa Rica is one of our most favorite countries for bird photography. Hotel Bougainvillea is the birdiest hotel to stay when arriving and leaving San Jose. Thank you for sharing.
You bet!
Shalom .Thank you. Watching from Australia. Praise the Lord. God bless you.
Glad you enjoyed it, Matthew!

My friend Juan Carlos!!
Hotel Bougainvillea gardens are wonderful!
This is great! Brought back memories of six trips to CR in 2.5 years. Savegre, Batsu and Felipe are all great! I also use Costa Rica Gateway for transportation as well, Juan Carlos is a friend.
So glad you enjoyed it, Jeff! Yes, Juan Carlos is a great guy; I'm really hoping I can get back down there some day and explore new places!
Very nice video, and I saw two of the rarities while staying at the Alamo Inn, being the Blue Bunting and Black-vented Oriole!
Thanks, Doug! Glad you got to see those!

Beautiful place you’re lucky for being in that paradise ❤️🐦🦅🌳🌿🌺🌸🌼🌷🦋🦜
Hello there, I will be in a cruise ship and would like to see birds and photograph them, can you recommend a place for bird photography nearby the pier?
Hi, Peter; I'm so sorry I didn't see this until now, but it's moot anyway, as I wouldn't have been able to answer your question! :-( Did you find any good birding spots?
Liked the video a lot. Note that it is Blue-black Grassquit, not Blue-backed. Also, the Plumeleteer looks more like a Steely-vented Hummingbird (recently changed to Blue-vented H). The copper rump separating green back from dark blue tail and lack of rufous on wings is like Steely/Blue Vented
OOOPS!! I didn't even notice the typo until you said something - thanks! I'll try to correct that! Regarding the hummer, I actually thought it was a Steely-vented as well at first, but the large size bothered me, and then he showed me his very pink feet! :-)
Thankyou wrry good
chestnut woodpecker .... my god thats an amazing bird
I am dreaming to live here.
what time of year were you there?
Hi, Gary! I was there 13-27 JULY! They call that the "second dry season"!
@@marybethstowe3449 Did you go with a tour company (which one) or on your own? (how did you make arrangements) BTW very good video
@@garydietz8807 Thanks! No, I went on my own and just e-mailed the lodges to make arrangements (some you can book on line). I used Costa Rica Gateway to arrange transportation.
Wonderful video, we're going to guanacaste next August, I'd love to see wild toucans but am lead to believe they're not common near the sea.
Thanks, Elwood! Yeah, the toucans are easier in the moist lowlands a little further south than Guanacaste. If you're able to go to Carara NP, you might get them there!
Thank you for sharing.I love it 😍
You bet! Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice camera work on the birds! Norma probably doesn't remember me, but 2 winters ago I birded with her and some of the others from ACAS, (tell her I was the gal with the big white self-built camper van) it was such a wonderful experience and I look forward to another trip in the future.
Thanks, Leigh! I'll try and copy and paste your comment and get it to Norma!
That White Tailed Hawk made unique call at 0:20. That's certainly different than other calls I've heard.
