Thanks for sharing. Last Friday, I had Osseous (pocket reduction) surgery and bone graft on #18, a bone graft on #19, and a connective tissue graft on #20 (all lower left teeth)...all done under local anesthesia, primarily Lidocaine. Surgery lasted 4 hours, including photos and a general chat about how much periodontist because interested in the specialty. I ended up with 14 stitiches (didn't feel any of it). Honetly, my periodontist was great and actually helped me relax as she made in injections. I was pretty numbed-up so I didn't feel a thing. I left with a sheet of post operative directions, including a course of Amoxicillin, a Chlorhexdine Gluoconate oral rinse and an extra soft sonicare brush for brushing the teeth that were not subject to surgery. Advil for inflammation and lots cold packs for swelling. Diet was protein drinks and soups and mac and cheese for several days and was told NO hard food, chewy food, especially peanuts, popcorn or foods that might get caught in my teeth. Follow-up in 12 days to see if grafts were holding and to see if stitches can be removed. It was not nearly as bad as I thought. Bottomline, get any bone or gum graft surgeries recommended as they procedures will help your teeth last longer.

I have a few years before I'm a senior but the one thing I do know is that Physical activity is so important to keeping the joints and muscles limber and is key to staying strong and flexible. I also take it..u could not hit the gym untill those stiches were out? An that is kinda unpredictable so it could be 2 full weeks no lifting

I might end up doing the tunneling technique Where they insert the alloderm into the gums an this is for my buttom What stresses me most is stiches in mouth for 10-14 days And me not being able to lift weights for 7-10 days All seems a bit overwhelming

Did your bottom gums end up being different colors because the roof of your mouth is a lighter pink then the original color of the gumline? Thank you for sharing.
