Why should I go Camping? I'm in my 70's, now! The Benefits of Camping for Seniors.
I turned 72 this spring and I thought I would share with you some of my thoughts about going out camping at my age.
I've had a few folks remark that, at our age, they can't see how I do it.
But first... let's talk about why I do it.

Oregon Dispersed Camping with Vistas, Views, Eagles and Gunshots! Hot-Tent Camping in the Cascades.
Просмотров 993Месяц назад
Well, since stream trout fishing doesn't open here in Oregon until May 22nd, I decided to head out into the Cascades to find a good place to get some views and work on my photography. I didn't know, until the night before I left, that a rare, Northern Lights event was going to happen over the weekend. That was an added bonus! I ended up spending 8 days in a great, elevated, dispersed campsite a...

Back on the mountain! After a short break I finally got back out into the Cascade Range, here in Oregon, to do some Dispersed Hot-Tent Camping. This time I brought along my new Kni-Co "TREKKER" woodstove to give it a "real world" test. ruclips.net/video/gl5XswbsTs4/видео.html www.kni-co.com/trekker_stove
I finally bought a new Hot-Tent woodstove - and it's MADE IN THE USA! - Unboxing and "First Burn"

As many of you know, my last hot-tent woodstove (made in China) was a pretty big disappointment, but I saved up some coin and bought a new, Kni-Co "TREKKER" Woodstove, made in the USA!! www.kni-co.com/trekker_stove I just had it delivered a couple of days ago and wanted to share with you the unboxing and first burn of this, sweet, little stove. As soon as these wet-weather patterns break up her...

Hot Tent Woodstove - Major Fail - "Thumbs Down" Review
Просмотров 9957 месяцев назад
Buyers Beware... Buy cheap...get cheap results! I've decided to put together a little video that shows the problems I've had with my little SoloWilder Tent Woodstove. I bought it from Amazon only 8 months ago for $159.00 and have used it on, only, 7 camping trips since then. Bit by bit, it has quickly deteriorated into that "point of no return" and I'm terribly disappointed with this thing. Bot...
Cold and Windy Mountain Campsite with an Amazing Ocean View - Hot Tent Camping on Mount Hebo, Oregon
Просмотров 2777 месяцев назад
November 24, 2023 On Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, I took off early and headed out into the Siuslaw National Forest in Northwest Oregon to explore and, hopefully, find a campsite that had a view of the Pacific Ocean. I found a great site up on the side of Mount Hebo and only 10 miles, or so, from the ocean as the Eagle flies. The beautiful views made up for the often, cold and windy weath...

Beautiful and relaxing scenery and sounds. One hour of colorful flowing rivers, creeks and streams that I've filmed this year exploring the, breathtaking, Pacific Northwest of the United States. 💥Added Feature: GPS location coordinates to the campsites, I used along the way, included in the video for those who may get the opportunity to venture out and explore these areas for themselves. Fall Camping and Fishing on The Beautiful Clackamas River, Oregon - Hot Tent Camping in Fall Foliage
Просмотров 15 тыс.8 месяцев назад
October 17, 2023 Fall camping is beautiful! ..... but.... Today's lesson, Kids, is never completely trust your Garmin GPS. Or, better yet, pay better attention to it! I took off early Tuesday morning for what was supposed to be an hour and 30-minute trip to the Clackamas River area where I wanted to find some dispersed camping and fishing. Well, coming out of Estacada, Oregon, old Garmin decide...

Thanks, Di! As you know, I'm in some gorgeous country out here.🦅
Awesome - great video!! It’s cool that you were able to see the Aurora Borealis while camping. Perfect views and camping spot.
Thanks, Rob! I'm just trying to keep up with you "Young'uns".... 🦅
Thank you for bday wishes and great video
Great video. It looks like a nice camping spot
Thanks...it was a real comfortable site for sure.
a usmc pancho ? 🤔🙋🏻♂️
That would probably work!
Hey find a good mountain lake I can launch my boat on. One that accepts gas motors. 😊
That thing is sweet!!
they know its a cheap chinese stove and the girl was told if anyone calls about it just say you never heard of it. there are reasons wood stoves are made of cast iron, they get really hot......red hot. tin isnt going to last unless you only use it for 30 minutes and let it go out.
i did wonder about these there is only one or two of these portbale ones that i would trust and they dont collapse they are still made of iron are still 15kg with the flue
@elitecoredangerous ... I've been shopping since this happened and checking other channel's reviews, iike Jon and his wife Erin on "Lost Lakes" www.youtube.com/@LostLakes I'm leaning towards a Kni-Co Tekker for my size hot tent. I also, like those Gstoves...just a bit pricey for an old dude like me I think.🦅 I'm open for suggestions for sure!
LOVE the view! I'll bet it's peaceful when the wind stops.
It was... but there were only a couple of hours here and there when it wasn't breezy.
😎😎😎
Hey friend, if that smoky stove were to happen again. Go get you some mud from the river and dobb that into the cracks. I'm from the east side of the state.
Good idea! I'll definitely try that if I don't get a new flue collar before my next camp. Thanks for the tip! (I should've thought of that myself..) 🦅
Nice video to relax to!
Thanks for the compliment..much appreciated!
Welcome big brother! 😁
I really enjoyed this, great video mate!
Thank you all so, very, much!
Curious about your tent and tarp setup as well as your wood stove?
What questions can I help you with, Larry?
Hello from a fellow Oregonian! Nice camp. Thanks for sharing my friend 🤠
Thanks Herb.....I'm loving out here and I'm out doing that "bucket list" stuff! I grew up hunting, fishing and camping in Northern "Minnesnowta" and Oregon has given me the opportunity to re-experience some of the good times of my youth...even at my old age! 🤠
@@eaglefx5552 I grew up in Alaska, hunting fishing, and camping. still fish and camp. Not so much hunting anymore. Beat the hell out of my body spending 30yrs. on a beer truck 😎
Love the wilderness your in very beautiful. Very lucky to spend time there beautiful country. 🌲🏕
Every spot I have found dispersed camping in, out here, has been indescribably beautiful. I hope my videos will show some of that to those who haven't seen this themselves.
All the best from North New Mexico and Southern CO.
Thanks, I spent years around the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range myself. Beautiful country there. Definitely God's Country!
great camp setup
Thanks Rick! It's setup for long stays...lots of gear it seems, but it all fits in the Montero nicely.🦅
Nice video, beautiful place, by the way any mushrooms that growing on the three or stump is not edible
Thank you very much, Bill. I can see by one of your videos you might have camped in your Pomoly right near there, yourself.
@eaglefx5552 yes, I love those places by Clackamas river. It's my favorite thing to do, my hobby is camping any season!!!
We have same hobby, I love camping too.
There's nothing better to recharge the old batteries and Oregon has so many different kinds of terrain and camping opportunities. You should come see this place yourself, someday!
@@eaglefx5552 I am in Pennsylvania its mountains too. I love camping out here, but hey new place is always good experience🥰.
Great video, keep going.👍
Thank you for the encouraging words! They mean a lot!
I'm so glad you put the pasta in the sauce and not the other way around.
I learned from my old Sicilian Grandma....it's cool you noticed that touch.
Nice video. Your'e channel is a little gem which still has to be discovered by many.

@ahilbilyredneksopinion - Hey, Thanks for the nice comment, much appreciated. I'm planning on heading out Monday for, hopefully, around another 10 days. I've got my sights on another river area around Mount Hood to get some more shots at stream fishing before that Trout season runs out and the snow starts to fly up there!
@@eaglefx5552 I'll be watchin.hit the lil bell n all.
