Autumn Footprints 2020 - The Virtual Festival
The Autumn Footprints Walking Festival in Amber Valley and Erewash has fallen victim to the coronavirus this year but it usually starts with a 3 mile walk in Shipley Country Park. This slideshow includes images from such a walk and keeps up the tradition of the opening day walk in September 2020.

The headstones of five servicemen who died in the two World Wars were rededicated in Stanton Road Cemetery on Saturday November 1st 2014. Ilkeston's Victoria Park became the first park in Erewash to receive the Green Flag Award last year, a national symbol of excellence. The Erewash Museum in Ilkeston turned back the clock to the rock and roll years on Saturday 21st April 2012. With live rock and roll music from Glenn Darren and The Krew Katz, there were also period cars and fashions and the event was sponsored by the Friends of Erewash Museum as part of the Museum's 30th birthday celebrations.

A circular walk from Victoria Park in Ilkeston to Mapperley Village and back. The route is described in a "Country Walk in Erewash" (No, 6) leaflet and is approximately five miles in length. Many happy memories walking back from the swimming baths to Gladstone school.
Parts of the walk like the Nutbrook Trail are bike friendly but the walk as a whole is not. Sections of it are across fields, over styles and through Mapperley Park Wood where the ground can be waterlogged.
