2013 BMW ActiveHybrid3 - Silent Review

A silent walkthrough of my 2013 BMW ActiveHybrid3. With a 0-60 time of 5.0 seconds, and up to 33mpg, it's both a gas saver, and a highway-passer, if you're willing to repair the hybrid battery yourself. This is the reason it's so much cheaper than the 2013 335i despite being faster and having a few more features, as people are afraid of the replacement cost of the battery. Luckily, my hybrid sy...
How To Put Your BMW on Jack Stands

How to jack up your BMW onto jack-stands! In my case I'm jacking up my '07 E85 Z4, but it's the same for most BMW models. Pucks I used: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R7Q49LD/

Make Your Headlights Look New - NO Tools!
Plane has been sold!
Sure. I'm gonna' remove my front bumper every time I want to change my oil. Not gonna' happen!
I'm paying people thirty fucking dollars to do THIS?!
You forgot to mention about inserting the safety pin on the jack stands
The android auto comes standard?
No, MMI box. Andream US is the best place. Super cheap, easy to install.
So I just stick my jack under the front of my car and start pumping? Where do I lift from the front.
Look up the jack points in your owners manual! You have to make sure it's on a jack point specifically, there are tons of spots, depends on the model!
Like a champ!
Should I remove the seats and interior panels as well? That should make it lighter on the axle stands?
Thank you for creating this video. Did you end up buying a Plan 4 Windrow?
Yes I did, it is great
That engine required BMW LL-01 oil. I don’t believe that oil has that rating. Most of the better oil filters (Wix, Mann) come with new o-rings and crush washer for the drain plug. If you change them, make sure you put them in the same place (take a picture of the old ones in place).
I'd be interested. BMW z4(E85) n46b20b ,6 speed (2006) 1.Motor oil type(4.25L / 5-30 LL4) 2.gear oil type ( ? ,?) liter? 3.differential oil type( ? ,?) liter? thanks...
Thank you for this! I’m due to do mine. Exactly what I was looking for. Clean and straight to the point steps.
I'm sorry but this is not the answer to do this..that jack/puck combo is super dangerous. You should get a jack with a flat "hockey puck" like top. Either the esco brand or my preference the American made US jack brand
dont take the bumper off
good job, looks great
where is the video for the painted calipers etc?
Really please tell your viewers that the bumper cover doesn’t need to be removed, lots of work and every time you pull the cover it weakens the plastic tabs on the cover. Like another comment drive the car on 2”x4”s to initially raise the car. The purchased rubber pucks deform a lot, better to make your own from real hockey pucks as it’s a harder rubber. Z4 coupe owner , your welcome
He says that from the start😉
I've never used those filter wrenches or straps before unless I can't get it off but I have always just hand tightened the filter back on with my hand. People have always over tightened them with a wrench. They don't need to be super tight just a good snug is all you need. Never had a problem.
Oh, Elon.
Fun fact! Unlike most cars, the car charger stays on after the car shuts off. If you plug your dashcam into it, you get parking mode that runs off of the large hybrid battery! :)

I'm a simple guy.... but WHERE underneath the front? the oil pan?.....¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Google your model, look for the front jacking point.. most BMWs should have one in the front. It might be WAY back there. You might need a flashlight to see it. For BMWs, you might even need a special long jack.
Hmm! Why take off the front bumper just to jack it up? Just use two pcs of 2 x 4 and drive it up on the front wheel. That will allow you to have enough clearance to slide the jack under.
You right! I had to take off the front bumper anyways (it was getting replaced), so off it went!
He literally said that in the video…
Lol
Hey homie. It's much easier to take it off with a microfiber towel and an old credit card. :)
Great videos. Thanks for the tutorials. Wish you'd continue the series!
Thanks! I did actually end up finishing the restoration of this car and selling it for a good profit.. just need to get around to editing all of the footage!
How did the pucks hold up? I read some of them break down. Did the stand feel really secure? I'm trying to avoid buying the metal jackstand adapters.
They held up ok, definitely can bend a bit but it has a lot of grip so it won't be slipping. Mine are rubber, and not plastic, too, so that's good. I feel like a metal adapter might damage the plastic, or damage your jack, although maybe I'm wrong.
@@everettengineers did you find it a hassle to make sure the car felt stable with axel jack stands and the rubber pad? I was thinking of buying flat top esco jack stands... but I don't know how necessary they are. Obviously I wouldn't mind paying extra to add an added layer of safety, just wondering if the axel + rubber adapter setup is stable in your opinion.
@@sekhonisasleep The weight is so heavy, it's very stable. Feel free to rock it, try to push it, etc. If you want, you can also put your jack under the transmission, or there is a few bolt spots, for extra protection.
Thanks man o by the way whats that bolt size?
No idea! Think it was 10mm but I might be completely wrong.
Just changed the oil myself, it's a 15 mm
Thanks man , just brought one of these cars , really helpful
Loving the content!! Looking forward to seeing more from you. BTW, I think you should check smzeus . c o m!!! I’ve been using it to promote my main channel and it helped me get my videos higher in the search results!!!
I ended up replacing the entire front bumper with a new one. The multitudes of glue aside, the bottom grille clips were broken, and there were several other clips that were broken and replaced with screws where there not should have been anything. There'll be a new video on that sometime in the future once I actually get the thing from the bodyshop!
Can't wait to get some more paint this Monday. Need to fix up some door dings with body filler and a respray, then I can fix the bird poop etching on the trunk. Want to finish ALL painting before I go through and sand, compound, polish, and ceramic coat. My thought is, if there is any rogue clear coat/paint that goes where I don't want it to, it'll be smoothed out when I go through the paint restoration process.
"Now you can tighten the rest down with za strap!" - gang gang
"This is what it looks like." Camera: *has a seizure*

This probably happened because I forgot to take a Dr Pepper break in this video..
