Question, if you don't have time to put miles on the C8, do you think you'll put many miles on the E-Ray? Maybe the Truck first and let the E-ray depreciate a bit. Anyway, sounds like you already have some good thought process around it. That white with the red accents looks nice!

Here's a link to explain MRC aka Magnetic Ride Control, or in C8 MSRC = Magnetic Selective Ride Control = select Tour, Sport, Track. This link explains that MRC is fairly dormant cruising around but active in performance driving, including dips, pot holes, bumps to get your C8 stabilized in milliseconds. Why compromise performance, stability, safety for $1900 and lose options to control your ride for the life of the car. I feel this is the biggest no-brainer option. Drivers interested in C8 MRC, aka MSRC, may want to watch RUclips channel Engineering Explained on this technology. Also there are other videos that exceed the very limited test in this video above from Freedom Driven. In short, many drivers love the extra settings that a C8 owner would get with this option. It is tied to PTM to allow much more driving performance modes vs driving around the block above. In short, instead of all wheels reacting the same without MRC, each wheel would react independently or in combination for pot holes, dips in roads, bumbs, in addition to accessing PTM. Example no MRC in Launch Control = Competitive Mode = a less advanced traction mode vs if MRC = PTM & choosing various performance modes, Sport, Race 1, Race 2. I feel that reading all about this technology it is a great option for better performanc & a better ride, as a driver can set Tour, Sport, Track in MRC and have more choice vs a standard set-up with no settings. I feel it's the best $1900 you will add to your vette! Go read up on this; there's more to this option than some that say "they can't really tell."

I own a 2021 C8 Stingray. It's a 1LT, with the performance exhaust. I chose the LT1 primarily to avoid all the Collision Avoidance and Lane Departure crap. I don't care to have a HUD, but I miss a heated & cooled seats. Then again, the vette has a small cab and the AC/Climate Controls work great, so maybe I don't need it. As far as the ride quality, (and I've driven both), frankly the ride is great, and configurable in the base model. I think Chevrolet did their homework brilliantly on the ride, handling and suspension, as they did with they did with the LT2 engine. My only advice is to buy one, and drive it everyday! I still have the thrill of ownership, and I have no complaints, none, only praises to an amazing Supercar.

You CANT really tell the "difference" between TWO different cars as much as feel the difference in the ride in the SAME car. Now, if you just use the car as a Grand Tourer and never track or drive it HARD through the twisties, then NO REAL NEED for MSRC. For me, when I have gone to the TRACK or run places like the "Back of the Dragon" its a HUGE difference, near the "limit". Once I am done I switch back over to TOUR/soft for the drive home or just for around town. Again, if you DONT have it there is nothing to miss. To decide if it is right for you drive a car with it and switch from TOUR to TRACK and pay attention only to ride/suspension, THAT will give you a feel for the real difference... Two different cars is not the best way, IMHO

Z-MODE is not the right way to compare. Zmode can be SOFT or HARD depending on the choice made. Try TOUR vs TRACK, the two extremes.

1 week and 700 miles in on a 2024 Telluride and you are absolutely right that any mode is somewhat delayed/unresponsive when you hit the gas. What the heck? Once it kicks in, it accelerates, but problematic at an intersection etc...

I just picked one myself. I put 60 miles on it last weekend. Great ride and handles nice. You can a just the sub setting in the radio settings. There is also an eq in there.

I noticed not all business plans would work in all areas. Like door to door sales in my neck of the woods would never work, for decades woodchucks guys who offer landscaping and arborist work rotted out that type of sales. Would never work here but I respect the hustle. Your type of business if you don't get enough material sales you won't have the margin to compete with the major players if they wanted the retrofit work. I was focusing on new construction then went to another company that did mainly retrofit. Seems like you have to expand and roughly you might have some low performers on your team. Hit me up if you want to grow your business.

I had a 2022 Corvette stingray 1LT non NPP valves, but it had that stupid AFM valves and it would constantly switch from 8 cylinders to 4 when I drove it in all modes, I now have another 2022 Corvette stingray Z51 1LT this time and I have Not seen the AFM valves go to 4 cylinder at all which I prefer, does your C8 Z51 Not have AFM valves either? Thanks~Mark ;)

The main difference on my non-Z 51 C8 with magnetic ride is it substantially stiffens the ride when you put it in sport or track mode compared to tour mode, and I love being able to adjust the ride if I want to get more spirited or if I’m out on the freeway somewhere

I love blowing in insulation. I started doing it as a pest control. Technician and decided to go on my own. I rent a u hall truck, then head to home depot where I buy twenty bags of cellulose insulation. The machine rental is free. I end up spending about six hundred dollars, but can charge upwards of thirty five hundred dollar callers for my service. I don't have my own truck and I don't have any employees, But I am ambitious and will work this through until I become a million dollar company. Sweating in the attic makes me feel alive..

I was driving my new 2023 EX when the accelerator became unresponsive. It turned out the that my foot was not on the accelerator properly. I was pushing down on the bottom of the petal instead of having my foot flush with the whole petal. When it happened a few more times I knew my foot was not on the pedal properly and as soon as I made the adjustment I was back in business. I guess while driving I would lose my reach to the pedal with my leg/foot (old knees). After that revelation, I made sure I was pushing down on the pedal the way that I`m supposed to. Make sure your seat is adjusted forward enough for optimum flush contact with the pedal. I hope this is helpful!

Whole- heartedly agree with you. I don't have the trim line with snow mode, but that lack of performance is definitely a huge safety concern. My advice is to bring it in to Kia at least 3 times for the same issue. If they can't or won't fix it, you're on your way to being covered by the "lemon law". You should be fully satisfied with a brand new car and, aside from the safety issue, it sucks the joy out of owning a new vehicle... especially one that is so luxurious and highly acclaimed. You could have gotten a free accelerometer app for your phone and conducted an instrumented test. Driving around and just seeing isn’t really worthwhile.

Good video dude. I am familiar with both your area and this topic. My daughter lives in Midvale, so the weather can be a challenge. Having the e-Ray will certainly be beneficial, but to your point is it really worth it ? I currently have and own my dream car, but am on the list for an e-Ray. My dream car is a Ferrari 458 and I will be selling that when the e-Ray becomes available. However, the cachet of the Ferrari and the admiring glances and conversations I get with that car makes it really hard to give up. And on top of that the value of the Ferrari is going up, where I doubt the e-Ray values will likely ever appreciate. So I am caught in a conundrum. Should I just keep the Ferrari or sell it when the e-Ray is ready for delivery ? The obvious big difference between the two cars is the cost to maintain the Ferrari (a 2010 model) and obtaining a new car in the Vette. It will be obviously cheaper to maintain the newer car. but my decision is looming and I really am shuffling between the two.

Sounds like a safety recall is required. They probably wait until it causes deaths. An unresponsive vehicle is very dangerous. I hope they figure it out. Their excuses are terrible and obviously make no sense. People forget their drive modes routinely and who is going to measure exactly the amount of snow per block?

It makes a huge difference in my opinion. I took a long road trip on a 2017 Denali with Magnetic Ride Control and I was amazed.
