Brute Custom: The Ultimate Blend of Power and Sophistication
According to BABVVO and TEBBVO sadly soon all gas cars will be illegal!
I don’t quite agree. Electric cars are still not fully at the desired level. Issues like the environmental impact of battery production, insufficient charging infrastructure, and high costs remain significant. Instead of completely banning gas-powered cars, more efficient and low-emission solutions could be developed
2:00 it made that 270 hp because Ferrari installed some hot cams. The engine is mounted transverse.
Thank you for your valuable feedback! You are absolutely correct that the Ferrari 328’s engine is mounted transversely (transverse), and we actually mentioned this in our text. However, our phrasing, 'mounted longitudinally in a mid-rear position,' might have caused some confusion. We should have been clearer on this point. Additionally, we appreciate you highlighting the impact of the 'hot cams' in achieving the 270 hp. Feedback like yours helps us improve our videos, so thank you again.
The original Mondial was closer to 10 sec.
The 6.5-second acceleration mentioned in the title refers to the most powerful model of the Ferrari Mondial series, the Mondial T. The original Mondial 8, on the other hand, had lower performance and achieved 0-100 km/h in around 10 seconds. We should have clarified this distinction in the video-thank you for pointing it out
@@everydaycar190 Oh I wasn’t picking on you. I was more responding in advance to the young nitwits who think 6.5 is slow. It was never slow. Coming out of the malaise era it was extraordinarily quick. But the Mondial was not. I think it was when the magazines pointed out a Fairmont with a stick could give it a run for its money that Enzo himself decided to build the 288 GTO, which most definitely was not slow.
wtf is a TWO OR ATE?
Actually, it's pronounced as 'two-oh-eight,' but the numbers can cause some confusion when said out loud.
Does it have an exhaust note? Many turbos totally stifle the exhaust note.
The Ferrari 208 Turbo might not be as loud as naturally aspirated V8s, but it still carries a distinctive Ferrari tone! The smooth notes of the V8 combined with the subtle turbo whine create a unique and impressive sound. Even with the turbo technology of that era, Ferrari managed to deliver an iconic exhaust note. So yes, this little engine has a surprisingly satisfying exhaust note. 👌😊
@ Sounds fun. I bought and repaired a low mileage crashed 328 GTB from salvage in a misspent petrol head youth working on cars, undiagnosed at the time with ADHD, low dopamine seeking thrills demanded by neuron’s to spark. Should have been working on a career.
Great work.
Made for Italian Tax laws.
I saw one of these cruising the Autostrada in the 1980s...
This is the first I've heard of such a unique Ferrari power plant ...
AI Garbage
Thanks for making such a passionate and accurate depiction of a wonderful sports car. I was five years old when it came out in 1971 and I clearly remember being awed by its pictures in the car magazines of the time. Good job. Keep it up.
Thank you! It's amazing to hear how this car has left such an impact since 1971. I truly appreciate your support.
It's the American Muscle on Italian Exotic Chassis 👨🏻👍🏻🏎🏎🏁🏁🚩🚩Ford Dream
The devel is a great deceiver 😂
You might be right. While the Devel Sixteen made bold claims, it seems like many of them were never fully realized. It's unfortunate when high expectations aren't met.
I owned a 70 RT/SE F8 green black vynal roof 440 4spd 354 Dana Magnum 500s I put a 30 gallon fuel cell with baffles designed by me and fabricated at the Comox Airforce Base by one of the best welders. I installed the tank so I would run out of fuel when the cops tried to catch it The president of the Mopar muscle club in 1980 Nicknamed me Crazy Jake then threw me the keys to his 65 Satellite rag top the maiden voyage with the new 440 and said let's see what it can do so I drove it like I had stole it
Sounds like you had an incredible ride and some amazing adventures! The 1968 Dodge Charger truly inspires car enthusiasts like you. Thanks for sharing your story.
Why bring up that old scam.
I understand your point. The Devel Sixteen's ambitious claims and unclear production status have left many skeptical.
@@everydaycar190 Production status is crystal clear... nonexistent, phantasmagorical, all hat; no cattle, etc.
In 1980- A good used car from the sixties costs about 12-15 hundred. A new datsun sports car was like 6000. A used Vette like the one shown was like 12,000, which was alot of money in those days. Remember you had to buy all your parts from GM parts and they were outrageous at the dealership. I knew a guy who had two of these in his garage. For example at that time a pristine 69 Z-28, black on black was $2400. Wish I would have bought it at my high school. We older guys look at the prices now and just laugh. The cars are 50 years older and they were not all that great to begin with , mechanically. These kids think if they buy a vette like this , its like buying and riding in a new Camry- it is not. They are beautiful pieces of art but not worth 100 K or half that. I still like to look at them at Pt Defiance on a Saturday night, dozens and dozens of them showing off. Respects. RH DSD
Also this car was 5500 in 1965 off the dealer lot , brand new. A ;5 bedroom house with basement and yard was like $14,000, so you can see what the car was worth against buying a decent house. Only doctors and playboys and rich people could buy these vettes. They were designed by American car loving engineers and designers and evvery part, nut and bolt was made in America. We need to go back to making everythhing withoout the BS RED TAPE. My Respects, RH DSD
You're absolutely right, it's fascinating to see how car prices and the overall car culture have changed over the years. The nostalgia for those classics is undeniable, and while they may not be as mechanically advanced as modern cars, they still hold a unique charm. It’s always great to see them still getting attention and respect, even decades later. Thanks for sharing your perspective.
there is a reason why the parts of the autobahn without speed limit here in germany are so expensive to build. They are constructed with high speed travel in mind. tolerances for how even the surface has to be are much tighter. guard rails much stronger, and also other drivers are much more likely to expect fast traveling vehicles. going 330 km/h on a road that is constructed for 120 km/h causes risks beyond the control of even the most skilled driver.
You're right! Roads built for high speeds have stricter standards to ensure safety. Pushing those limits creates risks, even for skilled drivers.
Actually, the energy grows quadratically with speed, not exponentially
You're absolutely right, and I appreciate the correction! The energy increases quadratically with speed, not exponentially. I’ll make sure to correct that in the video. Thanks for pointing it out.
That fact is so hard to believe but it is actually true. I used to make the same mistake until I learned it at school
More like what an idiot driving a race car on a public road - and filming it - putting innocent lives at risk crashes at 3 times the normal motorway speed limit? Well done bell end I hope it was written off for the safety of everyone on the road.
I understand your concern, and you're right-driving at such speeds on public roads is extremely dangerous and irresponsible. Safety should always come first
Szkoda pasażera, dobrze że postronnych nie zabił
True, thankfully no innocent lives were harmed.
Fake information in description. Both driver and passenger survived. You can simply type in google: "Huracan crash in Hungary"
Thank you for pointing that out! It seems there was an error in the information I included. Both the driver and passenger survived the crash. I appreciate your feedback and will make the necessary corrections. 🙏
Sounds like an advert
I tried to make the video as informative and entertaining as possible. It’s not meant to be an advertisement, just a showcase of the car’s features. But thanks for the feedback.
Fully agree. Sounds like an ad and there's no footage of driving it!
Only one major flaw..... Its UGLY
Design is subjective-what’s ugly to one might be beautiful to another! 😊
I still remember it was Autumn and the moon was shining Our '60 Cadillac was roaring through Nebraska whining Doin 120 man the fields was bending over Bob Seger get out of Denver 1974
I wish I could’ve kept my model of my entry into Fisher body design guild in 1958. Turns out my model got a honorable mention in the sports car class. But I didn’t manage to keep any records or a model or anything. If anybody wants to try to find it, I went to Hubert grade school in Detroit on Lamphere Street and the shop class was where I built the model and it was accepted by Fisher body design. Well imagine surprise when the 1963 Corvette come out and it looks just like my model I mean a lot like my model. This is haunted me for years. But the only difference was the engine was an opposed six or eight cylinder engine, and that also showed up in the Corvair.. I ended up working at Chrysler research and development after I went to Vietnam for a bunch of years and this is one of my haunting memories I mean the car but I love the car anyways I feel related to it. Thanks. I wish somebody could dig up somefishyour body records of it. That would sure make me feel like it useful person thank you by the way this is a great video but it’s so funny about how younger people talk about older cars. It’s OK we’re having fun. Ps. Hard for me to type and stuff, I try.
Wow, what an incredible story! It’s truly inspiring to hear that you earned an honorable mention in the 1958 Fisher Body Design Guild with your sports car model-especially at such a young age. It’s fascinating that you felt the 1963 Corvette resembled your design; it makes you wonder how many untold contributions passionate people like you have made to automotive history. The idea of an opposed six or eight-cylinder engine showing up later in the Corvair is another intriguing part of your story. It sounds like you had a real vision for design and engineering, and the fact that you ended up working in Chrysler R&D shows just how talented and driven you were. I wish there were a way to dig up the Fisher Body records to find your model-it would be an amazing piece of history. People like you are the unsung heroes of the automotive world, contributing ideas and designs that perhaps inspired generations of cars to come. Thank you so much for sharing this with us! Stories like yours add a unique depth to discussions about classic cars, and I’m honored to have this memory shared here. I’m really glad you enjoy the videos, and I hope they continue to bring back good memories. You’ve truly left your mark on the car world, even if it’s in ways that aren’t always documented. Respect to you, sir!
Hindsight is always 20/20..
Fantastic video review about this amazing Icon chevy corvette c2, thank you for sharing
Cheap!
Could you clarify what you mean by 'cheap'? Always open to hearing your thoughts.
You are talking about a 1936 Roadmaster while showing a much, much newer model !
Finding authentic footage for every car can indeed be challenging, especially when dealing with rare or classic models. While I strive to present the correct visuals, some compromises are necessary to create engaging content. I appreciate your understanding and feedback!
Probably doesn't know the difference.
But it lacked a limited slip differential and thus, made landings on everything else but a dedicated boat ramp, impossible
You're absolutely right! The lack of a limited-slip differential would indeed make navigating anything other than a proper boat ramp a serious challenge. It’s a crucial feature for better traction and handling, especially in tricky conditions. Great observation.
I remember seeing a few of these at the city dock in Annapolis in the 60s.
It also sent Lamborghini broke, proving that good financial management = boring. Toyota corolla anyone?
You're absolutely right! The Countach was a massive financial risk for Lamborghini, but that's what makes it iconic. While Toyota Corolla is the safe and practical choice, Lamborghini chose to make history with bold, boundary-pushing design. Excitement over practicality.
Nice work. Great writing, good delivery and more.
It still looks like it comes from the future in 2024. I can't imagine what people thought when they saw it in 1971.
Absolutely agree! Even today, it still looks incredibly futuristic. It’s truly fascinating to imagine how people reacted when they first saw it. A masterpiece that was ahead of its time
I only made it 13 seconds in before I quit the video. Really bad.
Thank you for your feedback! I’ll keep striving to improve and make better content
Cool!! You should also mention whether it is comfortable to fit a human body in)
No it's not, unless your 5'6 or smaller. Did you know you can't really use the rear view mirror to reverse because the rear window is so tiny, But people will say its a Lamborghini we don't do reverse. 🤣🤣
@hellraizer44 I guess I wouldn't even climb in with my 191 cm 😅
AI Dude, are you sure this was first unveiled in 1968?
You made a great point! You’re absolutely right-this car was first unveiled in 1968, as I mentioned. However, it was quite challenging to find visuals specifically from that year, so I included images from other production years to provide context. Additionally, there are also visuals from the 1960s included. I hope this clarifies things, and thank you for noticing!
There’s nothing I like better on my American sports cars than a metric speedometer. 😝
You're right, a kilometer speedometer might seem a bit unusual for an American car! However, we chose to display it this way since most of our audience uses the metric system. Additionally, you can see that the speedometer at the beginning of the video is in kilometers
Thanks for sharing. I've owned fourth gen Firebirds for over 20 years and currently have 3. They aren't perfect, but I still love them.
That’s amazing! Owning three Firebirds shows true passion. They may not be perfect, but their character makes them unforgettable.
カッケェ
Lovely cars …. But not in performance blue …… maybe grey or black. My partner has a little i20N …. a cheap little throwback hot hatch …. In phantom black. A lovely dirty bit*h when a bit mucky…. The car is pretty good too….
Narrate this yourself. AI garbage.
Sorry but there is a lot of facts that aren't quite right here. It's not stuff that's wrong about the car but what some of the items talked about and their benefits and reasons why these things made it better. Eg: one of the innovations as explained sounds like they were one of the only ones to employ the idea or feature when it was common 20 years prior.
Yes, you are right in some areas.
Opulence does not make a masterpiece.
Good video
❤
Man I know that abscess hurt
Great video keep up the good work
A masterpiece of engineering is that 2.2 4 cylinder in our old 2002 Honda Accord. Still going after 340,000 miles with just basic maintenance.
Yes, Hondas are generally reliable vehicles.
Nice video. What is the name of the song that plays in the intro? I couldn't find the reference anywhere here!
Could you let me know the timestamp of the part where you heard the music you’re asking about? That way, I can help identify it for you.
Thanks for responding so quickly. I referred to the very first song in the video, from 0:00 to 0:40.
Hey, I recognize that B-roll, lol.
The need for speed. that game made me fall in love with the supra.
Yes, sources for this car are limited, so I used footage from NFS.
For me it was on Sega Saturn 😊
