@@everydaycar190 Oh I wasn’t picking on you. I was more responding in advance to the young nitwits who think 6.5 is slow. It was never slow. Coming out of the malaise era it was extraordinarily quick. But the Mondial was not. I think it was when the magazines pointed out a Fairmont with a stick could give it a run for its money that Enzo himself decided to build the 288 GTO, which most definitely was not slow.

The smooth notes of the V8 combined with the subtle turbo whine create a unique and impressive sound. Even with the turbo technology of that era, Ferrari managed to deliver an iconic exhaust note. So yes, this little engine has a surprisingly satisfying exhaust note. 👌😊

Also this car was 5500 in 1965 off the dealer lot , brand new. A ;5 bedroom house with basement and yard was like $14,000, so you can see what the car was worth against buying a decent house. Only doctors and playboys and rich people could buy these vettes. They were designed by American car loving engineers and designers and evvery part, nut and bolt was made in America. We need to go back to making everythhing withoout the BS RED TAPE. My Respects, RH DSD
