Change Secondary Coils From Series To Parallel | Real Lineman
Просмотров 26 тыс.9 лет назад
This short video demonstrates how to change secondary coils from a series connection to a parallel connection inside a transformer. You would normally do this when building a 3-phase transformer bank with a Wye secondary voltage. Example 120/208.

helpful video, thank you.
The SMU-20 is a really good fuse high interrupting they can go up to 14,000A in the 15kV version and 12,500A in the 27kV version. A bit more spend than overhead cutouts but they do the job well on most circuits even with higher fault duty.
So want a transformer cost so much
What is the make and type of gear?
Cody Lindsay liked the buck squirrel 🤣
If the TX is additive polarity the X1 is on the right and if its a subtractive the X1 is on the left. Always look at the name plate its important. Great video
Believe you are counting the x1 bushing wrong. It is on your right hand side, not your left? confusion
Using x2 and x3 for the secondary? A and C. B and D Secondary Wye do we always make them parallel?
Do you have no bonding to the can with the H2 bushing ? Alternative question. Will H2 be connected to another H2 bushing to create a Delta ?
Clear information. thank you
Luv the dead front. No more live front. Energize with elbows.
Vista gears are the way to go now, no primary exposed to the elements and the cables are on one side and the switches are on the other side.
The lines sho don't be seeming real no mo.... First the stomping nah it's just wack fo like 15-12 years almost....
👍👍
How would you clean the silencer if the fuse was blown and can you use hot water and Dawn dish soap to clean it?
My company has trained new techs for over 10yrs now with the Bucksqueeze, I’ve been working here for over 23yrs. I still free hand climb, but once the company trains us older techs on the BS. We can’t go back to free hand climbing.
So the channel is "Real Lineman", but demonstrating a bucksqueeze. . . Talk about a contradiction in terms... Because REAL linemen don't need the " training wheels strap". REAL linemen free climb!
Sorry it's federal law
sorry i want to see my family every night after work, and not traumatize them in the hospital over a simple slip accident. guess that wouldn’t mean shit to you huh?
What material is that rope?
Thank you for your tutorial sir, I'm new subscriber to your channel.
Wow that's amazing love the transformer it's got a secret
Good job
Dude, that's pretty cool, thanks for sharing!
Nice
It’s not a bowline if your tail isn’t inside the loop.
I'm a CW, this helps me as well, thanks
I've installed a lot of these in 42 years.
I climbed for 42 years everyday using the "old" belt system. I never cut out, never slipped, or had a close call. I credit that to proper training and understanding what you're doing. Pole climbing is a skill that has to be learned and respected.
Just graduated from linemen school here in LA, & I’ve wondered how this was possible. I was glad I had a buck squeeze while learning to climb bc I’ve gaffed out a lot. Then, my professor said one day that it took him years to master climbing back in his day, & after I didn’t feel so bad about my climbing skills haha. But yea man agree on what you said on proper training & how it’s a skill to be respected.

@tonydelpilar I was taught to "free climb" on my first climb. I belted off at my work position, then "free climbed" down. I climbed that way until I retired.

best eye have seen
I want Telugu language
Thank you
Thanks! Very informative!
In the scouts, we called it a hole (loop), tree(standing end) and rabbit (working end). "The rabbit come out of the hole, around the tree, and back in the hole"
Good information
Give me job Please
Do yourself a favor if you drop a nut in there and can’t retrieve it, get another transformer and mark the one you dropped the nut in NFG. Took us a few minutes to find the lid to one that we thought would be okay after doing that.
Good video but at a lot utilities this would not be the lineman’s job. We would simply replace the whole transformer and bring the damaged one back to the yard to be picked up and taken to the transformer shop where technicians would repair it, if it was worth repairing, for return to the field.
Whats the mineral oil for?
keith stone Mostly cooling but it also has very good insulating capabilities.
Thank you for what you do
where can i order a potato camera like the one used to make this video? Serious tho..
Thanks I can get more practice
The first thing you do before loosening the lid on a pot is to vent the transformer.
I just started a linesman apprenticeship and have a big test next week and this knot is on it. With your video i can now do it with my eyes closed. Thanks!
Ally cat bad dog makes it 120 only
What size rope are you using? 😅
1/2" rope
Spanish please
It will be good if you learn a 2nd language
Use captions and translate
no mames es lo que dice el video
@@FGLeon01 same to you
What an excellent instructor. Thank you
I still prefer kalmyk knot
Should it be filled with water?
INSULATING OIL
It's filled with mineral oil, which looks clear like water.
How to calculate the saze of the transformer like volts and amps and fuse size
What is that liquid thing inside the container?
Suraj kumar Mondal cooling oil so it doesn’t over heat.
Mineral oil, which is non-conductive (when not contaminated).
Cooling and and the oil has high dielectric strength
If it’s a newer transformer, it might be vegetable oil.
Ok thanks
