Recoil Comparison EAA / Tanfoglio Witness Polymer Match and Beretta 92 fs (Steel and aluminum)
A side-by-side shooting video of the EAA / Tanfoglio Witness P (or Polymer) Match and a Beretta 92 fs. The former is obviously a polymer frame and the latter is an aluminum frame. I'm shooting 125 grain Ultramax junk ammo from both guns.

Tabletop Review of EAA / Tanfoglio Witness P Match 9mm

I did an unboxing video for this new Witness P Match or Witness Polymer Match in 9mm (linked below) and wanted to do a simple review of it after putting 350-400 rounds through it. I include a look at a "representative" 15 shot grouping at 10 yards and also a "micro" review of the Kimber Micro 9 sort of by accident. My unboxing of a new EAA / Tanfoglio Witness P Match (or Witness Polymer Match). I offer my apologies for the jumpy autofocus of my camera. My Nikon D750 has video abilities that are far beyond my operational skills. I have very little practice working the video side of this camera. Test of the Bushnell Equinox Z 6x50mm night vision monocle

Settings and distances are listed below. This was my first test you can hear me fumbling with the buttons. I didn't use a tripod, so I apologize for the hand-shake. First, this was not a "full dark" test. Quite a ways back behind me there are some lights that cast a very low glow on the ground around me. However, those lights were not illuminating most of what you see in the depths of the frame...

    Youll love it more when you shoot it. Im not a super great shooter but i couldnt miss at 50 yards. 75 i was doing way better than any other handgun ive shot. Almost sold it once .. glad i didnt. And in my opinion, it used to be a cz clone. They have definitely made their own name in the race gun and in home defense. I still see them going for 800$ ro 1k. Although you can find em used for a solod 650. 500 if lucky

    I've never heard of fully blacked out competition sights always usually blacked out rear and fiber front. I heard from someone that on this model you cant change front sight. If that's the case you could just take a silver or fluorescent colored bright paint marker and make a dot on front sight! Would help a ton

    • @randomhandle
      @randomhandle 4 года назад

      You can buy a front sight for it from EAA. It is, however, unfortunately expensive for a tiny piece of metal with a bit of fiber optic in it. When I compete, however, I use my Shadow 2 which is a bit more "flexible" in its features than this Tanfo.

I saw an EAA witness P Match Pro on Buds in 40 Smith & Wesson, and I became very interested. I'm looking to add another 40 Smith & Wesson to my collection. Thanks, Thomas. I know that Kimbers are a divisive gun. I really like mine. Runs great. Eats what I feed it. I really can't complain. I own a CZ Shadow 2 and this Witness shoots just as accurately and has a better trigger (because it's SAO). The S2's sights are better and I'm sure it'll probably last longer and hold its value, but I have no complaints about this Witness. It's still an amazing gun for the dough.

However, I am looking to expand my horizons and the CZs I've handled and shot come close to the 1911...so I'm assuming the Witness will as well. Thanks for the video my friend.

    I want this in 10mm but can"t seem to find a decent holster for it. Any current owners have any suggestions?

    • @randomhandle
      @randomhandle 6 лет назад

      Well, it depends on what kind of holster you're looking for. There are very few holster for this gun. That's undoubtedly a feature of a few things: 1. It's a Tanfoglio and not a Glock. 2. It's a recently released gun. 3. As a niche match gun and not a carry gun, there's less incentive to make holsters for it. Now, having said that, there are plenty of fabric holster for "large frame" guns that will fit this. Obviously, that's not a concealing holster and the only retention will be a thumb strap. I have a holster for this, but it's a competition holster. It's a $150 holster. But, it's phenomenal and fits the gun like a glove. You can have a custom holster made for this for less if you're looking for something that's not made to be strung on a competition belt. Good luck!

    Do they make this in 10MM, and does it use the same mags the steel Elite Match uses? EDIT: NO RAIL, NO SALE. Clean out the entire trigger/sear area with flushing hot water and dish detergent, rinse with hot water, blow dry and then spray with oil, try again. It may have build debris in there. CTD are price gouging SCUM, buycott them. Tanfoglio, PLEASE offer TRITIUM SIGHTS for these guns. I have a tiny Lasermax on mine and would prefer tritium by a huge margin for 95% of self defense scenarios

    • @randomhandle
      @randomhandle 6 лет назад

      They do make it in 10mm and the P Match Pro has a rail. Now, that said, these are supposed to be dedicated match guns so I'm not sure why you'd be looking at these for defense purposes. There are better defense choices for this kind of dough. I don't know who CTD is and I didn't buy from them anyway, so... I'll try the trigger cleaning. The creep is so small that it's not even noticeable, but any trigger maintenance that could improve a trigger is a worth a shot in my book. Thanks.

    According to the EAA website you have inverted the P Match & P Match Pro descriptions. The "Pro" is the DA/SA gun with the accessory rail, the gun you reviewed is the "P Match." Both are supposed to come with ambi safeties, and switching to the ambi costs $53 (plus shipping.) I'd demand the ambidextrous safety as advertised.

    I just picked one of these up today. I cut 2 red vinyl circles to put under the grip to make the “T” red. I’m pretty sure that’s what they did originally. Or painted it. Also, there is a pre-travel and over-travel screw in the trigger. The pre-travel is just under the trigger spring. It’s really hard to see. Of course I guess it’s possible it’s something they added recently? But I would double check yours to make sure. Thanks for the video.

    Metro Arms 2011 frame guns come with only 1 magazine. Plenty of competitors generally purchase 140 or 170mm magazines or run tuned magazines. I'm sure it's a "keep the price down, buy the mags you need" type of thing.

  • @randomhandle
    @randomhandle 7 лет назад

    Update on a few things since I made the video: 1. I was incorrect about the "smoke bomb" ammo mentioned in the video. They were 125 grains. I had my first and only FTF with that ammo as I put another 125 rounds through it today. I'm not concerned about it. The gun had 300 rounds or more through it since the last cleaning and this stuff is not just cheap ammo, it's remanufactured and really dirty stuff. I also shot Winchester white box and Federal range ammo and had no problems with either. 2. Shot outside today and the competition sights are what they are. I still don't like a plain front sight. In a proper sight picture, they do have some gaps to the sides of the front post--not much. The white steel plates were clearly visible between the rear sights and front post and I found I could aim and transition quickly and easily. 3. If you don't want to read the comments, here are some additional specs/clarifications: There is no pre-travel screw on the trigger. It seems odd for a "match" gun not to have one, but this is really an entry-level match gun that I never expected to have all the trappings of a match gun. I don't think Tanfoglio had any pretenses that this thing would fit snugly within their match line-up as opposed to sitting at the back of that line. 4. I did a recoil comparison video between this polymer gun and an all-steel Beretta 92fs. Check out the video description for the link.

    Also you can make your gun double/ single action you need a double/ single trigger, Interrupter and a Hammer Strut pin or interrupter Pin (same pin) to pin the interrupter to the hammer. Patriot Defense sells what you need and so does EAA.If you want an Awesome single action check out Patriot Defense's Bolo -- " Interrupter " . If you use there Bolo Interrupter you need to buy a Titan hammer.
