Question why do you use parchment paper? Is it just to aid in clean up? I baked bread for years (before I found out I was gluten intolerant) I never used parchment paper and as long as a pan is properly buttered I never once had a sticking issue and the only clean up was mostly washing the butter off if it was a glazed/glass pan.. cast iron never got washed. Maybe it's to make clean up easier, to me it's just one more product to buy and I like an oiled pan personaly as it gives a real nice crispy crust. Looks tasty especially since I can't eat it.

You use about the same recipe I use, I stopped following and just wing it now. I never make it to the pressure canning stage, I cook mine for usualy 2 days on the back of the wood stove in a Dutch oven, they disappear with supper. Best beans I have ever had and super cheap. I use black strap molasses, I'm guessing you use the fancy molasses? Same thing just black strap is unsweetened and usualy referred to as animal grade.

Honestly the best we have ever had is bacon grease either in an egg carton or smothered in some other type of paper or cardboard. It's awesome because it lasts just long enough to get the wood caught. When we're out in the woods obviously we just use the ever abundant birch bark. Thanks for sharing my friend! ❤✌️🇨🇦

That's a winter! Great video, Lee. Look forward to seeing what you're up to every week. I make those too with egg cartons but use sawdust from the mill and save melted down candles. The cupcakes definitely did better.

That peppermint tea I bet was delicious. I watch you and your husband doing the daily sometimes daunting task of cutting wood to keep warm. I remember having to load the wheel barrow up every day for a nice stack of wood in the house. We didn't have the luxury of cutting off the land but I remember the last winter with him in that house very vividly the pecan wood we managed to aquire from our vendor that winter smelled heavenly.

We keep two year's wood in supply in case we have an illness or an injury. Running out of firewood is stressful. You guys are doing a great job being resourceful, though. Winter can't last forever!
