Don't be a dumb ass, save yourself the hassle and buy new ones at MSA, ZCarDepot, eBay, whatever..... But if you are a dumb ass or glutton for punishment, here's how to remove them and be able to re-use them
How I mounted a winch in a trailer tongue box

Just how I did it, there's a handful of other good videos here on how to do it. Ask if you have questions, I'll try to answer as best I can.

Doesn't include how it all comes apart, but you'll figure that out by seeing how it goes back together. Sorry it's long, but I go slow. In reality, you can put them back together in about 10-15 minutes.

GoPro batteries died, so it's not a full run video. And it's a bit shakey. Top speed I hit was 150, 143 in the trap.

Northbound run, truck 49. 104.989 mph average over 118 miles. 4/10 of a second slow, and only about 7/1000 of a second better than 2nd place did it.
How to remove the rear seatback on a 2013 Ford F150 Supercab - Best Video
Просмотров 105 тыс.9 лет назад
Why is it the best video? I go into detail on what you need to do and show you. Other videos are helpful, but it's more than just jamming a screwdriver in there and jiggling it around. Knowing how it goes together helps you understand how it comes apart.

So you're seriously gonna tell me Bart is dumb when, at ten years old, he clocks an anagram in an instant?
Good job
This is BS. My 2013 is not configured like that at all on the top of the back seat backs. They’re suppose to have pins to push in to release but I don’t have that either. I have some arm and slot configuration with no visible way that the back releases from it. Do I have a freak truck? So frustrated
I strongly suspect you're NOT working on a SuperCab.
I've watched a few videos about removing the seat back and FINALLY one that explains it enough that I was able to do it. Thanks!
Same problem I had, glad I could help.
Hi! I know this video is a few years old...but was wondering if you ever got the official torque specs for the bolts. I've got one of these that I want to install and I'm having trouble finding the specs
From the Bentley manual. If you don't have one, get one, worth every penny. Transmission upper support bracket to body (10mm) Stage 1 = 25Nm/18Ft-lb. Stage 2 = additional 90 degrees Transmission upper support bracket to trans mount (12mm) 100Nm/74ft-lb
Also if you reach around the seat it works to
Very good video!!!! Did you disconnect the battery before to do all this job? Thanks you. Paolo (from Milan-Italy)
I did not since nothing electrical was disconnected.
@@dougmasters3875 Thank you. I'll try to do the same job tomorrow. 🤞
Awesome awesome video. I watched many, but your really explained what I was searching for, and nailed it. Great job and thought through video.
Glad I could help.
Thank you boss!!!!
My pleasure!
Thank you for showing us. The process is so easy after you explained how it worked.
Glad I could help.
Thanks for the video. I found it helpful.
Ive watched 3 videos and noone shows how to remove the seat, really
And one squid with extra tentacles.
that screw driver helped a lot!!! who else modified that stupid plastic clip so u never have to do that again!!!!
Very helpful man!
Thank you! I had watched two other videos on how to remove the seat back, but yours was the most clear and I finally was successful.
Great video very helpful!
Thanks for showing this...I have been trying for years...
You 'da man.
I really appreciate you film the struggle most guy stop recording I struggle every time I work on my truck and yes you did help me thanks
❤❤❤
What if I used a screwdriver that has a bend in it? Thank that would work better? Good video.
7 mins in “ now to the part where are you watching the video” 😉
Wow. 3 year old video... and the only one I've found, mounting the winch in the trailer tongue box. The others have the winch outside and the battery inside. This is exactly what I needed to see. I'm trying to pick a box that will work. Wider ones are typically too shallow. I wasn't sure the trapezoid ones (which are deeper) would be wide enough. Thanks for making the video.
What about the bottom seat?
Thank you for putting accurate info in an easy to understand format. Well done. This worked for me when nothing else would.
Yes, yours is the best video. Could be shorter, but yours is the best.
Amazing thanks for the help
Showed my husband this video and worked much easier thanks 😊
So nice to finally see how this is done. Frustrating that Ford couldn't standardize its seat installation for all model years and not make things so complicated. I plan on removing the clip for easier removal in the future.
Do the bottom parts come out separately?
I don't know, that was not in the scope of this project.
Just removed the back bench seat from my 2013 Ford F-150 FX4 Supercab. I followed your instructions perfectly, but I have one thing to add to your video that I think would make it even better and it saves some time and also you can use both hands in front instead of one hand on a long regular screwdriver with one hand attempting to reach behind/under seat.Send me a message and maybe we can collaborate on another new video. Thanks for the help Doug. Have a blessed day.
Thanks. I was thinking I needed C-4
Tried this method to no avail. Feels like that hole doesn’t exist in my 2012 F150 XLT
You got a SuperCab (extended)? CrewCabs are totally different.
Thank you for the information !! That seat removal is a pain !!
Thank you for taking the time in posting this video.. WELL DONE
Thank you, I would have probably taken a SawsAll to it if not for your video. 😁
Thanks for the video. I didn't have a pocket in the foam to follow so I had a lot of resistance to raising above the bar. I had a 5/16 x 24 inch round stock that gave me the leverage to pull up to the tab. I got lucky and hit the hole when I pulled up. The seat popped right out. I never would have found that without your video. Thanks again.
I have to replace a transmission mount in an 09 mini base, did removing the ecu require any type of programming to anything? Or does it plug back in and start right up? Didn’t want to disconnect anything like that, but it seems there is no choice.. it’s so cramped
Nothing special, unplug and replug.
I have a 2011 F150 Supercab and I'll tell you what...I absolutely am a Ford guy, will never buy anything else, but...2 things that have annoyed me the most about doing an aftermarket head unit and an amp, 1.) The fact that they do not provide a 12v ACC wire off the factory radio harness like they have for 30+ years and 2.) The difficulty of getting that back seat out. I'm baffled by those 2 things. Last, thank you so much for this.
#100... congrats my friend. Thanks for the video
OUTSTANDING!!!! It took a long time to find this video. Others had a different (easier) version but it was not the model of back seat that I have. THANK YOU!!!
Your video was better explained than others I've watched. Thanks for the help
Cool, when you were installing the yellow piece, did it appear easy to access the nuts to remove the transmission mount?
Yeah, it was pretty easy. I probably spent more time trying not to remove the ECU and fuse box than just move them from the start.
I like that you left your frustration in, instead of editing to make it seem easier.
Thank you. The only one!
welldone!!! thanx man
Wish you were my neighbor, i have many talents myself which i could share, but steaks on the grill for you, let me know rare or medium rare😀
Doug, I did it like a pro. Thanks so much, we need more guys like you that get to the point and make it happen.
Thank you, Very well explained, I get that its not simple. But knowing where to pry is the key.
