2004 Porsche Cayenne Throttle Problems (After Repairs)

Took this to the shop, we replaced the throttle body and accelerator pedal assembly. I still got this weird random problem, usually it happens about once every two weeks or so. Didn't happen when it was in the shop for two weeks, then happened just after I picked it up. Any ideas what is causing this?

    The disposable bottles are unsafe to refill. I've done it for five years because I saw people on RUclips doing it, but after doing some research I found out how risky it is. The risk is actually low, but all you need is one canister failure while it is attached to a Mr. Heater Buddy and it will be game over. The $250 dollars I spent on some Flame King bottles and an adapter I regard as good insurance. You don't want to take chances with propane.

    I just ran across this. Good job. I'm trying to decide between flame king and fuel keg. Is the filter compatible only with flame king? I was wondering why you didn't use it when refilling the coleman. I know that the flame king filler nozzle is not compatible with fuel keg became of the pin.

    The title triggers me just because it's 1.40 a liter where I live to buy the propane. I mean you do what you want but a better title would be refill.ypur 1lns bottles for a fraction of the cost of buying few. But there is a proper 1lbs refillable bottle now by flame King and with a simple adapter you can have the stores fill it. No muss no fuss...much better

    The vapor space in a tank that is full tank is 20%. So you can fill it to 80%. Which is at the spitter mark. If it goes over 80% a tad, it's still not really over filled. Years ago we filled tanks to 90%. The problem with that is this. On a cold day, filling to 90% is fine but when the sun comes out, the heat from the sun can make a tank build up more pressure and in effect the tank could actually lose it's vapor space and become 100% full. That would not be good at all. That's why the max level to fill was reduced to 80%. How do I know this? I worked in Propane for about 3 years. Honestly, you should never refill a disposable tank. The metal used to make them is just too thin. Do so at your own risk.

  • @snakehips7124

    I was under the impression that it was only safe to fill a tank to roughly 80% capacity. So is it safe to fill a one lb canister to just under one lb? Or is volume of the canister actually manufactured to be a little bit larger than one pound, as a safety measure? Hope someone can answer, thanks!

    • @timrichardsatsea
      @timrichardsatsea Месяц назад

      Yes, the one pound fill provides (leaves) a space at the top for vapour.

    With the disposable bottle put as much propane in it as it will take. Put it in the freezer then finish filling it the next day. This way you never have to touch either valve, which is never a good idea.

    That was the best How Too vid I've seen about these two types ever. The venting trick of the 'Non-fillable' canister is the trick. Being able to get a lot more in, by venting is really the trick here. The re-fillable unit has that valve built in. The take away from this vid is: "Don't try and get the very last bit in", as it's not worth it, and is probably on the dangerous side.

    Someone commented that they lube the threads of their gas bottles before capping them for storage… Absolutely never ever use any lubricants of any kind on your gas or oxygen tanks/bottles ever. Not for storing or using because you’re potentially causing elan explosive situation once under pressure that could kill you. Even solvents might not remove lubricants fully putting yourself at risk. Pressure bottle rules 101. Stay safe.
