The first thing I tried was to change the main jet. I got no results and was already below stock settings, so the next step I took was changing the needle position. After doing this i noticed a huge change in power also no more sputtering or stalling. After this video I continued to test and figured the pilot jet had to be changed as well. Now it’s in perfect running condition for the humid weather!

So mine has a high idle too and it doesn’t like to start when it’s hot could it be the same thing?

Have you taken the water pump apart and checked the gasket that goes around the impeller shaft? If that is bad that would allow water in the oil, just a thought 🤘
Yea i did, i actually put the whole engine together. And after getting the head re surfaced it was fine
@@motorcore_usa So after resurfacing did you have any problems with clearances or anything fitting back together? because I am having the exact same issue with mine right now. I did have a bad water pump gasket, fixed that, but I’m on my second head gasket and can’t figure out what is going on. So now I’m thinking I need to resurface it next 🤷🏼♂️
Hade the same problem, Found the problem bc of you, thanks
Hey man, put my kick start on after re-installing the governor and it's locked ( wont turn over) what have i possibly done wrong?
I've managed to align the gear with the other gears however, it won't stay in place and pops back out. Am i installing it wrong or does the spring/ other parts need replacing? The bike was running fine before I replaced the power valve linkage governor.
That green frame is sick 👌🏻
Yeah it’s neat, customer bike though😢
I've got same bike
Just did the same job on the sqme bike, dont have any of that fancy stuff, used two wrenches and some muscle to get them out. Pain in the ass, tools would jave been nice
if u would've use them nuts at the end for the head it would've had a coolant leak, i had a 125 do this to me not sure if it was something different
Don’t ever use those nuts use the correct nuts & washers for the dome cap that could cause coolant to leak out of the dome
yup i changed em 👍🏼
just used for testing because i found out that it needs a new head
It’s not running right
The shaved fenders are a shame. I had the 1985 model. I traded my QuadSport for it and actually regretted it. I liked the 'Sport better.
I like the fenders i didn’t put them on but i like it. aftermarket let alone original plastics are so much $$
@@motorcore_usa Originals must be through the roof.
Little tick still there. Just did a valve and cam chain adjustment and mine still makes a little racket so I’m wondering if that’s normal….. 🤔
Good work ❤
Go get 5/32 roll pins. perfect replacment
How come the first and last clutch plate is different :/ ??
Always show *Before & After engine noise* to compare .. Helpful for us.
Have it posted
ruclips.net/user/shortsz9NFurhDdJE?si=8WBMJY9V67LaRD92
For anybody confused on what i’m saying. I adjusted the valve clearances not on TDC. I did try to adjust them on tdc but i still had a ticking noise. The timing was %100 right. Clearances were in spec, the only thing that could’ve happened is possibly another valve feeler gauge got stuck underneath it at the time of inspection. Or something like the rockers are so worn down. But this goes to show that it doesn’t have to be a TDC to make the adjustment, I was having a ticking noise that wouldn’t go away (the valve clearances were so loose when spinning the engine over it was like a half an inch of play!) Just make sure the valves are open.
There is more to it ...there are cold settings and hot setting that the secret.
Of course there is. But the manual only gives you one option and that’s going to be the cold setting never the hot.
I tried to do this one my 2 stroke but I couldn’t find where to make the clearance
Under the valve cover of course. Let me know when you find it🤡
@@connor3288 I still can’t find it like fr fr my kx112 is making a horrible ticking noise
@@Gxsr750 Did you try turning it off and back on?🤡
It's called TDC top dead center and it's on a specific stroke of the engine
Yes i know, here was my problem I adjusted the clearances at top dead center and it still was ticking, so i turned the engine over to another spot and the valves where really loose so i tightened them (when the valves were open) and it fixed the noise
@@motorcore_usaYou must have adjusted at TDC at valve overlap instead of TDC compression stroke. As long as you adjust valves when the cam lobe is at the base circle, off the ramp of the lobe, TDC doesn't matter. If you need to remove cams to make shim changes though it is better to follow service manual and pay attention to timing marks.
@@connor3288I followed the manual, there are different spots to time it and it’s supposed to be timed to the letter “T” with the dot facing up. The timing is good, with one cam you really can’t mess it up
@@connor3288if the timing is even slightly off it most likely will not run, or if it does it’ll run horribly
Sick bro My dad built one from scratch too
Updated Yt video (Ticking Noise Fix) ruclips.net/video/wRXsy6KYvuc/видео.htmlsi=fJptiKfnhEHwdxaz
No difference. You didn't rev nearly as hard in the second clip. LOL moron
Nice bike for sure but that Yama number plate kind of looks like poop
It actually isn't mine this was a service
Might be a hairline crack in cylinder wall. You can check for cylinder head and top of cylinder jug flatness with straight edge and feeler gauge
The cylinder is brand new, for the head i used sharpie and fine sand paper to see if i could find any cracks or imperfections on the surface. For cheap its worth getting a resurface and that should do it, if worst comes to worst it needs a new head but i think it'll be fine
Noice!!!! No more room for play git it g!!!! 😂
Low or bad oil!
I tried looking for plastics for the ttr 230 they’re impossible to find :(
Yea i know has to be ordered oem
Same
I envy someone who lives in a place where that is considered "severely rusted"
Well the part you can't see is rusted on the inside, making it seized so i would consider that pretty rusted
@@motorcore_usa in my neck of the woods, "severely rusted" fasteners have no threads left whatsoever 😅
👌
If you guys are wondering where the power valve governor bearing is... at the point of the making this video i did not have the new bearing. I do have a video of me installing it. Check it out here! vv ruclips.net/user/shortsoGIszbdycs8?feature=share
I did end up switching the kill switch to the left side
Yeah change the bearings you need better oil to he probably didn't change his oil
Change all the bearings...a bit of metal still in them will ruin it all over again. 😊
Usually i would, but I actually ended up parting it out and have just about what i would’ve sold it for!
Beautiful ❤
This song is god
