If you marry a partner who earns more/similar salary your net becomes 80-100k. If you live off half every two years you can buy a rental property cash.
😂😂 come on we live in a 3rd world country lets not imitate 1st world countries lifestyle lets wake up and smell the coffee 😂😂
Honest is the best policy.salaries are no longer keeping up
Lol, working in private sector not worth it anymore. I remember my father always told me if you gonna work in an org that is profit oriented, make sure it belong to you.
I really appreciate your videos Sisi please never stop sharing this wisdom 🙏🏽
property will be profitable after 10 years, keep going you're almost there
60k for 4 years of experience is pretty good Its a question of what type of life people want to live ? Cant want to own a 5 million rand house, also cant have dreams that are just about money, all i hear is a complainer
you're giving people a realistic perspective of finances, love it
Reality Check it hard living way below one means is only way these days. Cost of living is too high.
True but it’s also important to increase our earnings because without doing so it means we becoming poorer each year.
yhu
This gives off motoring journalist. Love it 🤩
Thank you 🙏 ❤️
What a great well researched documented video. Wooow. Gives full information to plan what one can afford to avoid headaches

Corporate South Africa is a scam
I think corporate everywhere is a scam.. it’s modern day slavery 😅
Great and unique content indeed!!..Please continue mam with this kind of content, it would be even greater if you can extend it to other careers as well, I am assuming it wouldn't be much difficult to make research/get information from people on the corporate field for example; qualified Actuaries, Investment bankers, Quants, Data Scientists and much more.🙏💯💣
Thank you… I will try to post more fields.
I'm busy finishing up Bridging to CTA looking to get into articles soon Good videos I've seen from you so far, keep it up Subscribed👏
Wishing you success on your CA journey 🙏 Thank you for subscribing ❤️
Do you have a LinkedIn profile?
Not really
please mention other careers where you can make more money
Alright, I’ll try.
Life has honestly become so expensive. There is no fullproof profession anymore. You just have to make sure you manage your finances well, improve your earning potential by continuously upskilling and networking, and get multiple sources of income without compromising your time and mental health. This makes me feel a little better that I chose to not pursue the CA route during varsity but I've still had to be really strategic about where I use my skills and which companies I work for to extend my earnings.
I love how you’ve just summed everything up. One just needs to increasing their earning potential but without straining your mental health. ❤️
Guys, just do a course in IT is what I tell people. I started off with BCOm Finance and soon saw that this Accounting route isnt as marketed then switched to IT. I dont regret it !!!!
Interesting❤️. Please share… what do you love about IT?
What qualification in IT ?
How did you switch?
Interesting video. Im not a CA but the calculations were relevant even for me.
I’m glad it’s relevant because it applies everywhere 😅❤️
It’s worse if you have medical aid and pension fund deductions. Your net will be less than R40K
True 😢
😢😢😢 so true at least it's a Total cost to co. some of us are having it hard cause its structured and there are losses there and there 😫
😢😢😢 so true at least it's a Total cost to co. some of us are having it hard cause its structured and there are losses there and there 😫
normally people would qualify at 25 and to be honest buying a house at 35 sounds reasonable where you have about 10yrs + 3 yrs Articles experience. Mortgage at a young age is not worth it - just rent for about R10K pm then on that bond amount you have 8k of it left. The savings amount is really unreasonable in my humble opinion... probably 3K pm sounds fair to me. So having made these adjustments, you have about 7K EXCESS. By the time you buy a bond, the salary is higher, and the car finance is also gone.
Interesting point. But what I’ve noticed with most CAs if not all, we all got Mortgage or mortgages when we were below 30. Plus not having car finance means you will be driving an older car justifying that the CA salary is not enough to have mansion and nice cars. Also even if the salary is higher, a house that costs R1,6m today will be costing over R2.1m in 10 years meaning there’s a chance that you’ll pay more even if you earn more 😔. But many companies Offer bonuses which makes it easier to finance the lifestyle or pay off certain debts
@@xireninsights never thought of it like that the value of the house will be more. So it is a good decision from that stand point
Am dying on this route of becoming a ca 🥹 tell me its not financially rewarding
😂 you should fight to finish it… you’ll earn better than most SA population and you won’t starve. It’s just that to have the finer things it requires more than a salary… like running your own business.
Soldier on Sana, it will be worth it in the long run. It is still a great qualification to have.
I'm with you on this one. Currently preparing for my CTA exams and this has easily been the hardest academic year of my life 😭
@@xireninsightsThank you SO MUCH for mentioning that it would be more rewarding to start a business instead, and CAs are some of the most qualified and knowledgeable individuals to go into entrepreneurship. I'm going to study Accounting next year and I appreciate you bursting the salary bubble for me because I can then start learning entrepreneurial skills on the side while pursuing my degree.
Our paths are not the same. You might be the chosen one
can we pls have the spreadsheet template
Alright let me neaten it up first, maybe in one of the future videos il put a link on how to access and use my affordability spreadsheet.
These CA(SA) driving range rovers and Audis where are they getting this money
😂Did they buy them brand new or preowned? Also the high balloon payment makes it easier to afford a highly priced car. Plus other CA’s do get good bonuses. And some do have rich partners. So there’s many places they could be getting the money. 😅
@@xireninsights or some get executive posts where they earn over R2M right, thats a possibility in the accounting field
Either they have an executive position, they have side hustles or come from well off/rich families
What if u go overseas?like UK
I think you’re better off being a CA in SA. Uk standard of living is way too high. Gross salary average p.a. is £40k, which is equivalent to R900k. But some do earn over £60k which is above R1.3m. But some South African companies can pay you over that amount and our cost of living is not too high.
@@xireninsightsand UK may not recognise your Africa qualifications
@@lmthunzinot correct lol.

Good video my sister this is the reality

Good video
Thank you ❤️
So... Which one turns R500 to R2M ??? 🤦♂️
😂
I still cant buy my dream house with that salary.. and its only R3.5 million. I work as an accountant, still a junior.. but i am not convinced. I think i will go the business route. Very insightful.. thank you
True. The business route is the way to go if you want to achieve your dream life. The net salary can’t allow one to have their dream car, dream house, dependants, living, plus investments etc We also opted the business route and has made it easier for us to have our dream house and cars. You’re welcome ❤️
I think thats too little looking at how much time and money you spend studying ,if you put that investment in you own business from get go you would be earning triple that by yourself .
That’s completely true ❤️
I enjoy watching your content, informative, and you're beautiful 🙈
Thank you 😊 ❤️
Hi if you can, plz can you make a vid like this with sales exec from car dealerships
Alright il see ❤️
How much is your pension value when resigning
Was R1.4m
@@xireninsights aiybo for 8 years employed since 2012. I guess tax if you cashed out
We are in the sane boat. SARS was supposed to refund me 59741R based on their calculator. SARS paid me R 13000. I complained they add R31000. I complained still no definitive answer😢😢
Ey the taxman… they love to take our hard earned earnings 😭
honestly this is a good salary because i am an IT specialist with 14years experience and i am only earning this money now while you only earned it after 5 years
Yes I also think it’s a good salary. Some people never get to earn it even after working 30 years with a post graduate qualification 😔
At the time, how many hours were you working a day, on average?
At the time, I had moved from the “finance department” where it was perceived to be bad to knock off before 6pm even if you started work before 8am, requests could come in just before 4 and they’d say it’s urgent, so people would only leave after they’ve submitted which was sometimes after 9. But I didn’t get to experience it for long because I moved departments and worked for “enterprise and supplier development”. So our team was dealing with funding for small business so we worked normal hours (8h30-5pm)
😢 What is the employer matched pension and what do you mean will never get it back ? And how do one take advantage of it
Some companies do match your pension, but it’s not all companies. For example if your pension contribution is 10% of your salary… some companies might pay an extra 5% to your pension as an extra benefit. Some SA companies do employer pension contributions like my former employer, but it’s not all companies which do this. But this concept is more common internationally like in the US and UK. Not getting it back means if you don’t take up the benefit in that particular year you’ve basically lost out on “free money”
AI will sort it out.
Maybe you’re right 🤷🏿♀️
I'm software engineering and have been using AI tools before anyone caught on. I can assure you, AI is nowhere close to ready to do this kind of work. For example just with simple things like "AI writing detections" tools, they're garbage and nobody talks about that. Instead, institutions are buying into these garbage tools from HR to Universities and one day they're going to realize that it's all overhyped. Just with simple data entry, you can get an intern that would be way more accurate. Same with coding, we have had drag and drop builders like Wordpress for years but how often do you visit a website that impresses you? Everything's either ugly or doesn't work or both.
It has already started... I fired 2 people because AI can do their job...
AI failed accounting exams. lol.
@@CorporatePantsula Which version of AI failed? There are many, and the latest are much smarter...
So you didn’t have medical aid or were you a beneficiary on someone else’s?
The compulsory medical aid was ridiculously overpriced. So I was on my husband’s medical aid. If I used the company’s medical excl my dependents maybe my net would have been just around R41k
i also noticed that there was no medical aid.....good question becasue it is compulsory at most companies
Has your 'ukuzisebenza' been beneficial yet, comparatively speaking?
Yeah I think so. A year after leaving my job, my main RUclips channel earnings were surpassing my gross CA salary. Plus making money online didn’t come with having to study 4 years plus 3 years of articles. Also, with my CA salary I doubt if I’d be able to pay for mortgages plus have the car of my dreams.
@@xireninsights Siyakubongela! We say Onwards! Upwards! Khuphuka
Thank you ❤️
I am hoping that younger generation will challenge the status core and change it as it stand, we might have situation where we don't have auditors at all beside having qualified auditors.
Yeah I hope so too… 🤞
If they are so scarce, why are they being paid so little?
🤷🏿♀️
Braaaah!!!! Good question!
@@CorporatePantsula it baffles me honestly
9. Never take residual, if installment is high then you can afford it
The old me would say yes don’t buy a ar with residual. However, cars are so overpriced these days to a point where it’s almost impossible to drive a new car if you don’t take the residual option. It’s just important to understand how it works and the financial implications.
@xireninsights true. I guess of you plan for it it's all good but to refinance the residual and be stuck with that car is not cool. And even if you trade it in you will still have that shortfall added to your new deal. So rather pay it off.
Yohhh hayi tax i'wrong😭😭 yoh hawua
Too much 😭
Dam your apart of the 10%
That’s the advantage with being a CA, once you qualify it guarantees you a spot in the top 10%
As a second year Accounting student, i took part in audit vacation work at a small mid-tire firm which was short staffed due to most of their SAICA trainees opting consulting/non-assurance over staying in audit, and one thing i learned was this over glorifying of all the stress and anxiety of the CA(SA)/Audit field, which i truly found boring, because its so toxic glorying how you don’t have a life because of consistent audit deadlines and one audit overlapping the other and consistently feeling like you’re behind and on the same breathe talk about work life balance is important, Don’t get me wrong i definitely will be pushing that CA(SA) designation but will definitely pivot towards financial management or consulting due to the audit being so boxed and i think with the younger generation we have started recognising the scam but we are also desperate because of our circumstances.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I’ve never had the audit experience (thank God). But the culture is just bad because working long hours is normalised and if you don’t work those hours you’re seen as a “non performer” meaning that your bonus and increase will be low.
We are always troubled, and you can not just take from someone. People who are rich know how to take.
You have a point. But also when God was sending the Israelites into the promise land they were forcefully taking 😂 (possessing the nations).
2 things I want to say: 1. Regarding your intro, you know one day I asked God: "Why do good people sufer so much?" But God answered me with a question, He said "Who said that they are good?" I really want you to think about God's answer. 2. Second point which separate from my 1st point, the key is to "serve". The Lord Jesus said "Whoever wants to be great, must serve." All the people you menetioned who are rich, they are serving in one way or the other. You HAVE TO serve.
“Who said they’re good?” Wow, that’s truly a response from God. It’s only God who knows the heart of man, we just see someone who “goes to church” or “do good deeds” 😅 💯 serving is key. Thank you so much for your interpretation ❤️
I'm also an accountant and I hate debt. I will buy my house cash. Buying ahouse on credit does not make sense for me. I'm stashing cash.
😂 You have so much of accountant blood in you 😂. But when it comes to investments… it’s better to use other people’s money (it comes with tax benefits)
Where are you staying?
