I'd love to be able to buy a new Ranchero in the USA. If Ford wants to keep it cheap, they need to streamline the options. Make it a single cab ev or hybrid with a small, naturally aspirated gas engine in the front and an electric motor or two in the back. By keeping it 2 doors you save all the weight and expense of back doors, back windows and there's no need to make us pay for a folding midgate. With a super fuel efficient hybrid Ford can skirt around G.W.'s stupid law passed in 2007 which forced American auto makers to make just about everything 4 door. Keep it simple, fuel efficient and cheap and Ford will sell a million of them. Make the ev version here in the USA and Ford can take advantage of the tax credits. For bonus points a solar bed cover could be an option. I'd buy one.

I would be leery of the Leaf due to battery issues resulting from the passive cooling used in these vehicles, unless they have corrected this. I've owned 2 Model Ss and was happy with both. I really believe that there are good alternatives at this point. Not everyone needs air suspension or all wheel drive which add to the complexity. The car is a beast when it comes to handling and Tesla has never had a luxury interior. All touch screen was the wave of the future when these cars came out and now is a bit old school. ID4 had a terrible roll out and I've never trusted VW but that's just me. The company to watch is GM. They have made a sincere commitment to electrification. The Bolt and EUV are great entry level vehicles. The Lyriq and Blazer deserve a place on your list as well offering luxury and utility at an appropriate price.
