Peugeot 207 ruined by water ingress in the fusebox coming from a leak in the washer fluid pump and travelling upwards through the wire. The problem appears when a small pin inside gets corroded and is getting snapped.

Peugeot 206 1.6 central locking malfunction
So we know where the noise is coming from but what do we do about it
I have just bought this car, awesome car....apart from this.
Thanks for this video. The clowns at my local garage told me it was the ecu unit despite me telling them of this video. Took it to another garage who diagnosed the problem as the abs module. A common fault on the 207.
O meu não trava e nem destrava na chave, só na porta. Ninguém sabe dizer o que é
Finally! Thanks for posting this!
On my 2002 Peugeot 206 is doesnt work....
What does the second button of the key do?
Legal

Bonjour monsieur ça marche sur Peugeot 107 Merci pour votre réponse cordialement
What button did you press on the ford focus mk3 headlight washers
You need to have the headlights on and use the stalk to wash the windscreen
@@motanex I know how to wash the windscreen its the headlight washers
@@ANDY-we7mr and my answer was referring to how the headlights washers work. There is no separate button for them. You need to have the Low beam on and pull the stalk to wash the windscreen for the headlight washers to pop out. After that, every 4-5th time you use the windscreen washer the headlight washer will pop out.
@@motanex you forgot the "duh"
I faced the same problem, how did you find the solution, why is it?
There is a relay on the fuse box inside the cabin that causes this problem. I don't know any more details as I did sell the car shortly after.
@@motanex la place exactement s'il-vous-plaît
Be very careful unplugging the battery and then just reconnecting it after a few seconds as it can damage the BSI unit . You’re meant to wait like 5 minutes or so.

Where exactly is the location of that sensor ?
I have same problem with my ford focus titanium, but dont know how to fix this.
Did you find the solution?
I have this problem too 2006 focus
I've never liked the Prince engined 207's. The whine they make gets on my nerves
Yeah. I was always thinking the my water pump is dying.
@@motanex My brother has a 207 1.4 VTI and it sounds awful. I think they have steering pumps that are naturally loud like on pre Prince engined Mini Cooper S's.
My P207 has some issue like this but only when he stays out of garage in high temperature - then he gets a lot of errors - after killing them by app Torque the problem dissapers to next time. Do you think its the same issue with some pin-s?
I can relate to that cause, am currently having the same issues only when parking in the sun.
Right OK so I didn't take off my dash but I reached in and the fan has come off the bracket. The noise has gone but its now just dangling inside thr dash. Is that a problem?
Now instead of measuring the temperature inside the cabin its measuring the temperature inside your dashboard.
@@SIBUK fuck it.
I just can't bring myself to be that rough with my car :(
Please tell me how to fix this?!
You can try by blowing compressed air on the small fan inside the sensor. This will fix it for a while
@@motanex why does that fix it?
@@me-ju3fv there is dust that sticks to the fan blades which cause it to be unbalanced. That's why it's noisy
@@motanex ahhh I see ok, right, going to try! Thank you
@@motanex so how do I do it? Will it not damage other bits of the car?

I’ve had the same problem so I have just ordered a new fuse box would this be a simple removal and install without having to reprogram ECU? Thanks
From what I remember yes. I just swapped the fusebox without any issues. I would suggest having a look at the washer fluid pump and replacing it if you find moisture in the plug. That's were the water in the fusebox plug comes from.
@@motanex did you change the plug or just clean it and reuse it ?
@@paintball480 I left the plugs and wirings as they were(just used contact spray when I put the new parts in). I changed the washer pump because it had an internal leak around the motor shaft which was pushing washer fluid up and around the pins of the pump.
Tried it, don't work...

Bonjour, j’ai le même problème, mais j’ai vue que vous avez ouvert le capot! J’aimerais juste savoir comment vous avez fais!!? Cordialement
Hi, I realise this is an old post, it do you know how to access the sensor? It seems to be happening in my 2016 titanium focus recently.
The easiest way is to pull the plastic cover from the corner with the sensor(there is a clip that holds it in place). It will make enough room to see and get your hand there. Then, rotate the sensor to the left to remove it from it's location. To get the plug out pull the tab outwards.
Cristinel Iftimie Thanks
Thank you for this video, helped me identify it and fix it. was a simple job, the fan was indeed dirty, including the sensor, cleaned it all down with solvent cleaner, removed the fan (just slides off) oiled the pin with oil used for hair clippers (you need only a very small amount) and the unit is now silent!
do you how thease fit on
You need impact driver like the garages have because the shock rod is turning when you're turning the nut, with the impact driver it will turn the nut before the shock rod can turn, and it will tighten, I don't think a garage will charge you much for that, had the same problem
I’m actual fact you use a 7mm Allen key in the middle of the top bolt and a ring spanner to loosen the nut
Mine got no corrosion changed the box but still the lights are still there. What can I do now.
i'm getting the exact problem! windscreen wipers and headlights comes on randomly while driving, pulled over stopped the car and stop braking system faulty come on the dash? checked the fuse box and nothing there bone dry and no corrosion ? i wonder if you fixed yours and what was it? Thanks in advance.
Can someone please post a video how to fix it?
I have 206cc, previous owner said he had put in new battery. Fob never worked since he said. Will this way work.
Hi all, I have a Peugeot 207 HDi 1.6 Turbo Diesel, mine seems to have a similar problem to you all, water infiltration into the electric system with heavy rain and high humidity/fogging of windows, the electrical system goes mad. Mine has a sound like the blinkers going on and off but the power steering, power windows, alternator, cruise control, aircon, all stop working normally until the car dries out. I hear something clicking on and off madly inside the glove box (my car is right-hand drive) but I still haven't been able to locate the part. So, in my case it's usually with wet weather, so obviously it seems like water in the electrical system problem. I had thought it might be a loose ground wire somewhere where all these components work as well. Take yours to a good auto electrician and mention the comments here. It's not ABS or individual component problems for the most part from what I have followed up on other forums. For the most part, the car is very reliable. Mine already has 342000 km, does not consume oil, goes well, averages 880kms in city driving on a full tank, 1100 highway, the electricals are the problem, not mechanicals. Rear window regulators, the cables have popped out and need replacing, driver power windows command has broken a support and plastic is starting to get dull, driver door padding starting to scuff. Otherwise no complaints.
Hi, how works? Is standard ? Thanks
Hi. I have built it myself with 4mm copper piping and washer hose from a scrap car. I have put a "T" connector on the hose that goes to rear glass washer. Whenever I need to wash the camera I wash the rear glass.
Does every peugeot 206 have central locking ?
I'm sorry but I don't know the answer to this. I guess it depends on what country it was sold
They all came as standard with it but for more advanced central locking in a 206 you had to pay a bit more.
Salut, asa face si a mea, sa fie de la baterie sau electromotor?
La mine a fost bateria de vina.
I simply topped up my brake fluid lol solved the problem

hello the same problem happened to me, wonder if the problem is taking water? or if it's a chronic problem, you can tell me I want to take action.
In my case there was water coming through the wire from the windscreen washer pump in the fuse box.
@@motanex What is the solution to avoid water?
@@mehmetacar3624 I have put superglue around the pins of the screenwash pump
@@motanex Hi thanks for the vid. Just replaced my fuse box and was a lot of water in the old one. Don't want the same to happen but struggling to find how to get to the washer pump. Any clues? Perhaps another vid :) Thinking about slicing some of the wires from the loom and putting a bit if super glue to block any further ingress. Though not convinced myself if that is a good idea yet
@@Jedger Hi. I have sold my car more than a year ago and I won't touch another Peugeot so unfortunately can't make another video. The washer pump is located in the right front corner of the car, so if you take the front wheel and the liner off you can easily access the washer bottle and pump. Best bet is to also buy a new washer pump. They were quite cheap on Ebay. Thanks
How do you fix it?
There is a rubber gasket dampener that sits between the spring and the plastic support that holds the top mount bearing. If you have money you can replace with new parts. I just put some garden hose on the first coil of the spring.
instablaster.
same with my car !!!! How can I fix this???
How did you remove the cover?
On my car it's made from two parts united in the middle by clips. I just spread them left and right
Thanks for sharing this, I've been wondering what this annoying noise was for ages...definatley that and I need a new one!
So what’s the problem/fix?? You just need to replace it??
I took it apart, cleaned and oiled the small fan blades.
Hi mate, thanks for uploading that video, my car is the exact same! It's fine turning the wheel all of the way around but when I turn the wheel left to right I hear and feel the same noise. I have a 53 plate focus 1.8tdci. It sometimes has a slight stick, if you know what I mean? Only when getting in the car first thing, nothing major, but you can notice it.
The car is being driven by my father for the last 4 years now. Since filming this video he didn't had any problems related to the steering rack or power steering so I guess it's just one of those noises that Ford's make.
@@motanex thanks for the quick reply. It must be then. I'm pretty new with ford, my previous car was a Vauxhall Astra, which always broke down lol so touch wood this car will be a bit better. I won't rush into anything drastic yet then and spend money on unnecessary repairs. Thanks again mate.
