Geordie Urbex
Добавлен 24 окт 2011
Geordie explorers, Trying to document the off the beaten path historical places in Northumberland and around the North East. We enjoy searching for forgotten historical places, underground tunnels, bomb shelters, military sites, and things with a bit of history. This is our hobby so we wont ever ask for likes and subs, we wont have fake videos with fake ghosts etc, All we ask is if you know the location of an explore and we haven't posted the name of it not to comment it in the comments section as this only leads to people damaging properties, and this is the last thing we want.I will now not be naming places and only giving a brief description of places,as so many people off tik tok and youtube are copying the places I go. If you would like us to explore any places in northumberland or newcastle area email mrrsntrry@yahoo.co.uk
CAR AND COACH GRAVEYARD IN THE NORTH EAST
Loads of old Cars and Coaches just left, some at the side of the road and some in an overgrown yard. I think the yard next door owns them, so technically not abandoned just all rotting away.

ABANDONED SCHOOL IN THE NORTH EAST

An abandoned School somewhere in the North East, it has been set for demolition for the last 2 years, when I first came here months ago all the classrooms were set out with tables and chairs and computers in some of them, but I couldn't get in, a few months later I had more time and came back and found a tiny window open and squeezed through, some work has now started here with computers gone, ...
INSIDE WHITLEY BAY'S OLD POLICE STATION AND CELLS

This is a walk around the inside of Whitley Bay's old police station and former Magistrates court. I have tried to get in this place a few times in the last few years but could never get in, when they started demolition of part of the property (which I was told was part of an old sweet factory) I tried again although the magistrates court and the rooms are stripped it was nice to see the old ce...

1940's PET CEMETERY WITH SOME RACIST NAMES
Просмотров 7953 месяца назад
While out exploring I came across an old pet cemetery at Northumberland Park in Tynemouth, with some weird and some racist pet names. One of the dogs was Trixie Fox, who was rescued off the beaches of Normandy in 1944. Another named 'Nigger' was another veteran of ww2 and served on the beaches of Dunkirk. He was the mascot of a mine sweeper which was based at Albert Edward Dock, now Royal Quays...

In the middle of nowhere we found a huge house left abandoned with 3 cars left outside an old mg roadster, a newer volkswagen, and an old vw beetle. Inside the house everything was left from a huge expensive arga cooker in the kitchen, to wardrobes full of clothes and suits, cupboards full of food and an old singer sewing machine. In one of the rooms we found the ashes of the woman that used to...

@michaelmcgurk9068 aye I know there all just rotting away, some of the coaches just parked on the street
That bus looked as though It had been there for some time. Basically a car time capsule for everything else.
@Fatty2-sj8vr yeh they all had trees growing out of them haha
@geordieurbex2200 aye it doesn't take long for nature to reclaim things. In this case, a bus ha ha 😂
Cool finds mate! 👍
Hi what location if not ##secret
One of the biggest covered yards in the world in Sunderland in the north east of England in case anyone is wondering , also a record holder in ships produced Local council have tried to demolish it for about 30 years but it still stands :-) critical infrastructure
@@DurhamXo meant to be being made into a movie studios
@ fullwell72 are looking at it I heard too but I think could be put back to use in shipping especially with the way things are in the North Sea all of a sudden
Took my daughters there once for a talking to because they'd conspired to nick a bit of money off me. Coppers thought it was great and wished more parents did the same. They didn't like the look of the cells mind 😂
@@Ann-oi did it teach them a lesson?
Such a shame to see a school like this. No doubt it’ll be knocked down and houses built there instead
@@NosyBrit that's the plans
Yep, then 5-10 years later there's a school place shortage in the area as the ones that are left are oversubscribed.
Clearly the school's equipment has been gathered together for distribution to other schools within the local authority. You say when you were there last, there were computers on the tables but now they've gone. Yes, they won't have been dumped. Everything will be redistributed or if it doesn't work or is unwanted, it'll be sold off or sent for recycling.
@RoslynLamb all the schools I've done they get skipped, I've seen numerous computers, computer chairs, filing cabinets, kitchen equipment all looking in good condition, and I've seen them myself in the big skips
Probably full of asbestos like most of the old schools were.
So where is this school??

Grew up on Clifton terrace just behind the police station. There was a mask? In one of the windows for years. Creeped me out when I was younger.

aye - old Welch's sweet factory next door. Sure they a place up on Norham Road, in N Shields.
Used to have toffee vats on Laburnam Ave. - recall the sweet smell that would come from there.
@@geoffmount aye they did you could smell the toffee and certain times of the day.
They did. I was a Polis. Joined 93. The old Welch's factory kept on getting broke into. We were tasked with sorting it. We sat inside the factory on Norham Rd for 4 nights on the trot waiting for them to break in. They never came back. We were ill because we were allowed by the factory management to eat what we liked. They had huge multiple stacks of trays on wheels of sweets. It was like Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, but with young Polis's sitting inside. Great memories
Looks like its been desserted for a long long time. I remember getting my id there so i could drink in pubs remember those prove your 18 id you could get back in 90s?
It's been like this for years, just couldn't get in, this place would have been chocka in the 90s when whitley was the place to be
@geordieurbex2200 I could well imagine it what was. Even the 90s whitley was a totally different place compared to now.
@@geordieurbex2200 60's and 70's for me, only left Whitley Bay when I was at the ice rink playing hockey. (With Alfie Miller)
Lived in Whitley Bay 60's and 70's. Can't remember visiting that.
I went to the Primary school nearby (which has since been demolished and a new version built on the field) and this was my Monday-morning swim location. Dunno if it's still there in the shallow end but I always used to laugh at the "no heavy petting" sign on the wall.
My Town, I stood on the hill where Bates pit used to be and watched those chimneys come down, the last one hung on before it came down. A sad day IMO. You always knew you were nearly home when you saw the chimneys coming off the Spine road. The towns a ghost town now, nothing here, nothing for kids to do. We also had the best market in the Northeast until the council got greedy and wanted more money per stand.
@TwistedTiara just lost the shopping centre aswell, they have plans for blyth, all sold away to catapult for wind farms energy etc but no locals get jobs there
@@geordieurbex2200 From my back bedroom window I can see 3 big WT, only 1 ever works, it's all a scam and we don't get the energy from it. The Keel Row is gone now and that eye sore is going up, a red brick monstrosity.

Now it's demolished. So many happy memories here, lost because of neglect.
But.. but.. but where’s the diversity? This just looked like a useful group of men who knew what they were doing. And just think, this power station would run hour after hour, day after day, year after year. Blyth A produced 480 MW and Blyth B 1,250 MW. Yes 200-300 wind turbines could this for 15 years, not 30 - when the wind blows. And let’s also bolt in the cost and complexity or power stabilisation devices - things the greenies don’t tell you about.
Diversity, We keep feminist happy by referring to the machinery as 'She", the Alphabets happy as AC current swings both ways. Greens with all the trees that were planted. And Rainbows well look at the top of the cooling tower they make them each time the sun shines. What more diversity do you want. OK so it is never going to transition to DC but Edison tried and it didn't work.
spill how you got in thats class aha i was hoping youd end up showing the whole tour of the old build since weve moved to the new building i wondered what it all looked like after everythings out but still cool u showed some of it

I mean sure but Chernobyl matched that energy output in a quarter second.
And look what happened there 🤣🤣
I did my aptitude tests there when I applied for the CEGB in 1989 - Served a total of 34 years in the power industry. P.S. The power station I worked at didn't have steering wheels on their unit desks!
So happy I found this. It was my first school. Thanks for the memories.
No problem
Non-stop? That's nearly 23 years..............? With no maintenance?
@@edwardbyard6540 with staff looking after it yes
Of course outages for routine test and maintenance but rarely for long periods.
On the contrary, Continuous Condition monitoring and Preventative maintenance maintains plant thermal efficiency and provide predictions of mean time between failure allowing planed machine refurbishment before an unscheduled breakdown. Well done chaps great achievement, I do hope you all keep in touch with each other.
