The JOY Of Fishing Out A Fallen Output Jack | Epiphone Casino
A slow example of how not to retrieve a fallen output jack.
My brother’s 2012 Epiphone Casino jack was loose and fell inside while he attempted to tighten it.
With tweezers, we pulled the wire to the jack up through the jack hole.
In hindsight, pulling the jack through the F-hole,
(like this gentleman demonstrates: ruclips.net/video/g5PClhQIe8k/видео.html )
and snaking a wire would be the way to go.
Our method took about an hour, with a heap of luck, and even at an edit of under 7 minutes, it still seems slow and long.
Save time and stress: do the method that snakes the F-hole.
Another thing we could have done:
Once the jack was poking up out of the hole, instead of the clumsy shuffling between...

Sanding Gloss Finish To Satin At The Park | Epiphone SG Jr G-310
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
This isn't a step-by-step. Just an excuse to test out shooting with a camera for the first time. My brother and I went to the park to sand the gloss finish on the back and neck of his guitar to look and feel more like a matte/satin finish. The victim: a cherry red Epiphone SG Jr G-310. 300 1500 grit sandpaper and 0000 wool was used.... for probably an hour and a half. We thought we could get do...

That happened to me today and I had it upside down and I was trying to get it with some pliers and it went back in the hole I have no idea where it is Jesus Christ with a pain in the ass same guitar a casino though

Is the damned thing responsive to magnetism? Mine just fell in which why I'm here.
Nightmare
I had the same issue and resolved it in 5 minutes with a small screwdriver and a broken guitar string: 1 lift the guitar over your head 2 aee the socket and feed it through the hole with the small screwdriver 3 make a tiny hook with your guitar string and hook the the socket and it stays up. 4 feed the washer and nut over the guitar string and screw accordingly. Easy job!!!
Well done! Thanks for the smarter alternative
As already said this should be done without any hardware
How did you even get ahold of it in the first place?
Well, first I was able to get a hold of one of the ground/hot wires to the jack with tweezers--I was able to pull on the wire until I could see the jack. After that I bent the end of a wire into a hook to clumsily fish it up to the surface
@@fuzzbus Thanks. Before I ever saw your reply I did exactly the same thing. Good pair of glasses, mechanics wire and a headband light were my tools. Oh and the key was another wire with an old guitar jack securely attached to it. Insert the jack into the input and then pull it to the hole.
Dealing with this very problem right now…
I’ve been at this for 4 HOURS IM GONNA KMS
Edit : I did it ⁉️⁉️⁉️
Disaembling the guitar would have made a way better job🤷
Haha, what ever feels to be the hardest way! To me plenty easier would have been fish it out from F-hole, then pull any long wire from the jack-hole, fish it from F-hole, pull half a meter out, thru the jack (with the missing? locking-washer) make a knot underside the jack, an then pull wire and jack to the jack hole, drop the washer and nut thru the wire, tighten them, and last pull the wire out from f-hole...
and: prevent this happening again, one tiny tiny drop of superglue in contact between with nut and jack. Then the nut would not start loosening. And one tiny drop of glue helps the locking-washer keep on place when fiddling jack thru guitar..
The memories 😭😭
Nice
I feel your PAIN!!!
It happened to me too but I fix it upside down xD
That's the way :)
