And he pronounces it right and she sings it WOW. It's all good.
Funny Girl on bway 1964 made her a star!
This ain't no dead or alive
Alright I’m slayed! Frayed! And unafraid of how much I adore this divine woman.
Não se esqueça eu sou sua treisey 💋🇧🇷
This is a magical Song Miss Streisand ❤
this is pure perfection
This will always be my favorite adaptation
Magnificent incredible voice. Love when she looks directly into the camera ❤
No other like her. Her voice goes inside of you. Magnetic magnificent
I‘ve watched this a hundred times but she always leaves me speechless
The great Peter Matz, Joe Layton and Le Streisand...what a trio! Excellence.
Always loved this song..Barbra owns it💗
What was she....23 or 24? Can you imagine the depth of character in the way she delivers this performance? So free and easy yet emotes such power. Do we see that today in young singers?
"'GREEN ACRES'- and "THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW'- will return next week, at their regularly scheduled times......on most of these stations."
The breath control and clarity in the voice is just astounding. i have no words to describe how much i love this woman.
Deusa
Such a great singer
I was always so surprised that she felt she was an actor over a singer. I enjoyed her in movies but her singing to me is her ultimate talent.
Great…. Legendary…!
ONLY one who could get close in popular music to this kind of performance since is Celine
❤❤
She's so screechy compared to greater female voices before and after her. Nice vibrato though.
Fantastisch!
Absolutely stunning!
SHE IS PURE MAGIC! ❤ ❤❤
One of my favorite songs by her and one of her best; the chromatic build to the key change and that long note she holds out are one of the most glorious in recording history. This period in her life and career marks her 'maturity' of both voice and performance. Classic elegance and style as one of the most legendary performers in history; marked her place with Judy Garland as the 'torch bearers' as the greatest performers of the early and later decades of the century. Whitney Houston would also join their ranks for the latter part of the 20th Century.
This is out of this world. At the end, you wonder how she's gonna hit the final note. And then, no problem. It just flows out of her, effortlessly. The fact that she can tilt her head back while holding the note is just a proof that there is zero tension in her throat and neck. And to think she never had a lesson and didn't even want to be a singer is astounding. A true miracle of nature.
Yesss. The last note, I definitely was holding my breath to see what her approach would be. And she did not disappoint at all!
WHAT MAGNANIMOUS TALENT!! 80+ years NOW! FABULOUS!
I felt like she was singing just to me.
Décolletage!
The face! The eyes! The neck! The shoulders! THE DECOLATAGE! The arms! The hands! And all that is even before she opens her mouth to sing!
I've heard many versions of this song performed by her - all stunning!💎👑Ms. Streisand.... Her fabulous, inimitable voice.... Capturing every note and nuance.... Her voice constantly delights me. And those wonderful interpretations - each time it's a different song🥰 It's something absolutely phenomenal! 👏💯💙🌻🌹🌼💐
That voice transcends all that is wrong in this world. Thank you BARBRA for sharing your gift!
The greatest ...The greatest!!!!
I love Barbra and her amazing voice but this is not the way to sing this song. It is a lament for lost love and this uptempo beat is just not right. Listen to the original Jeanette Mcdonald and Nelson Eddie version and you will see what I mean.
That would be your wish but to make your wish on how you like to hear the song sung an absolute, seems to me very wrong.
I finally got to see Jeanette Macdonald’s version and agree with you that it’s wonderful. So thanks for the tip. I still feel that Streisand’s version is just a different animal. Equally wonderful. Just two different approaches. Happy listening!
Who remembers Jeanette and Eddy? This is incredible!
I am a huge Jeanette McDonald fan and have watched New Moon countless times, but I like Barbra’s version, too. It’s a jazz rendition. Jazz artists have taken music in different directions since the beginning of jazz. I’m just going to declare that Sigmund Romberg wrote an outstanding song that can be done many different ways.
Yes he did and I agree with your reply. I do like Barbra's version, but I'm just old fashioned and think it misses the pathos. Thank you for your knowledgeable reply@@biancatellington85
Live folks....hitting them notes absolutely live!
She 's the best
Aretha said Barbra was her only competition.
how is she never mentioned as the best when Aretha and others make the top lists. Even when Rolling Stones did their dumb top 200, people talk about Celine and not Babs? Silly. While I know Aretha is great and different from Babs, I prefer Babs. And her dynamics, poise, sustained notes is what Whitney did in her debut. I saw more Bab's blueprint in Whitney than any blueprint Aretha did. I mean Whitney's live version of Greatest Love of all is alot like this performance and "My Man".....Quiet, beautiful, dynamic (trading belts and quiet notes) and then the build up to the climax. Sure, others do it, but Babs and Whitney were the best at it.
Legend 🌟
I remember the day that I watched this TV special on DVD. This song was so spectacular that I replayed it at least 10 times. The only other track by any other performer(s) that affected me so strongly was "Being For the Benefit of Mister Kite," from the Beatles' 1967 "Sgt. Pepper" album. Like "Color Me Barbra" that Beatles album was associated with several touchstones of that era, such as a solid sense of optimistic empowerment. In our present time we have nothing that comes close to these concerted efforts to attain artistic excellence. The 1960s -- an amazing time.
Nothing against Barbra, but Judy Garland's rendition of ths song is life.
I Love Judy’s too!
She’s so gorgeous 💗
As beautiful as this song is on the official TV soundtrack recording, this live version is far superior - and twice as thrilling.
I completely agree with you!
Barbra-to-the-Barbra-power AND GLORY!

Tha GOAT 🐐
This clip alone justifies Streisand as one of the all time greats. Incredible singing!
I heard someone on UK radio compare Adele to Streisand the other day whilst driving and I nearly left the road. Are they insane? How could they compare her squawking voice to the liquid gold that Streisand delivered? Really? Simply incomparable.
Adele might not be even close to what Streisand was, but she has that Etta James/Aretha Franklin strong tune. Yes, the comparison was idiot since the thwo has way different sounding tones after all. But that doesn't mean Adele has an "Squawking Voice".
