    I am 3 weeks post surgery, mine was half-torn. They did the cut and repair, with the button drilled into the bone. The plan my Surgeon gave me is as follows -> 2-weeks sling, 2-weeks in brace at 50Degrees range of motion, then 2-weeks in brace at 100% range of motion, then remove brace and start light use...

  • @sauceboss9313

    My surgeon had me in a cast for 2 weeks. Then a mechanical brace. Every week I would increase ROM by 10 degrees. I'm 5 weeks out and at 30 degrees extension. Should be fully extended in the next 3 weeks. I'm doing my own PT with isometric, then zero weight flexion, then 2.5# increments until February 1st. I should be curling 20# by 2/1/25. I'm not sure if I'm going back to full strength training yet. This injury sucks. Might focus on body weight exercises and ROM exercises. I'm getting to old to be lifting heavy and sustaining injuries like this.

    I am 1 week post surgery, was training in the gym, free weight preacher curls and I literally saw my left arms bicep snap and roll into a ball. Literally saw stars and was borderline scared thinking that my gym days would come to an end. I called my PT who is also my friend and he got me an appointment with the orthopaedic surgery team. I had my surgery on 09/30/24 and now recovering. I sit with hope to recover soon and regain my strength. Had so many home renovations scheduled and this unfortunate incident came along.

      2 days post for me.... how are you doing? I'm in a splint/sling, first appointment is in a week. I pray to God they take the splint off, keeping my arm at a 90 for weeks on end sounds like the most horrible thing ever. How's your pain? I've been able to skip the pain meds thus far. 🤞🏼

      @@ryanrolf-music163 I’m two weeks post surgery still in a sling will be starting physical therapy today. The sling is not so annoying for me as much as the nerve pain down at my wrist but the doctor say that that is normal and will pass off with physical therapy. Wish you a speedy recovery and get well soon.

    I’m just finding this video now and I gotta thank you for making it. I’m a year and a half in from my distal bicep tear (been a tough road) and am wondering two things. One did your bicep ever regain full original size? Asking as I’m noticing a bit of a gap between the elbow and bicep still with mine. Second is there anything you can recommend for lengthening the bicep head to help regain size? Thank you in advance.

    On my second distal rupture. between insurance and Cleveland Clinic I'm at 6 weeks between injury and repair on the first, and a little longer on the second. So frustrating to wait so long for answers and action. I was coming from contest prep, so I'll have been a full year and a half away from upper body by the time I can lift again. First repair went great, but still very concerned about how long they are making me wait AGAIN. thank goodness i have such a great surgeon.

    I know Andy is an education but how can you squat so often...i used to my knees were always sore how can you deadlift so many times and be ready for a heavy workout as your lower back will be in pieces. Steroids probably to recover so quickly. Doesn't make sense you aren't giving your body the rest it needs 4days a work and volume? Volume isnt necessary to build muscle intensity is... please explain?

    • @andybaker2413
      @andybaker2413 4 месяца назад

      Volume/Frequency and Intensity are inversely related. So long as per session volume is not extreme and absolute or relative intensity is not too high then frequency can easily be at 2-3x/week per lift and strength progress will be good. The more you dial up the intensity the more you have to dial back the volume and/or frequency. Most beginner and early intermediate programming should be higher frequency IMO, but even many moderan day advanced powerlifters have extremely high squat and deadlift frequencies. At the advanced level you just have to find what works for you. More intensity with less volume/frequency - more Ed Coan style......or more volume/frequency more Mike T. style.

    • @user-xh3lb1ov3t
      @user-xh3lb1ov3t 4 месяца назад

      @@andybaker2413 I guess the way I see it volume/ frequency and less intensity doesn't mean much it isn't building muscle where as intensity total failure is all that is needed to build your body I've never understood why volume builds bodies it's intensity that's needed to that way you need 4 to 5 days to fully recover and then go again when fully recovered. Anyway I'm open to the suggestion that I can learn so on volume increased frequency do you goto failure?
