What misfortunes fell on the shoulders of these heroic people with such a strong spirit during the period of inhuman "perestroika", "shock therapy" and the period of surrendering all their interests to the West! 80's USN was a whole vibe. When i enlisted in '99 there was still Dungarees in the fleet, but we were in utilities. Utilities sucked. But dungarees looked straight up comfortable. Chicks wearing dungarees was a vibe too, damn shame we let that go.

Aboard the USS Wichita (AOR-1) circa 1972 we encountered a few Russian ships in the Indian ocean but they kept their distance 4-5,000 yards but were smoking black excessively. Must have had bad oil or bad combustion control.
