      Hi there, Yes you can do that, however if you want to reinstate the appliance you will never find the screw or handle. As a example when I have tried to turn a valve off especially in a emergency there hasn't been a lever in place so then you are in a lot more trouble, as this pipe may feed another water supply eg taps.

    • @diyshop839
      @diyshop839 4 месяца назад

      Hi there, Yes you can do that unscrew the lever, however in my experience what happens is that if you need the valve working again you can never find the screw and lever. Also people then use pliers to turn it on and off, then if there was a emergency to turn the water off, there is no lever and you would need to find the pliers which isn't as quick.

    • @diyshop839

      Hi there, As long as you have a rubber washer on the blanking nut, then you shouldn't have a problem. However if the valve doesn't close fully or the thread has been cross threaded then you would need to replace the valve.

    Thanks for the video, i have done exactly that however it is still leaking? I am confused

    • @diyshop839
      @diyshop839 7 месяцев назад

      Hi There, I would check that the cradle/basket hasn't got any limescale or debris on it which will create a barrier between the washer and cradle allowing the water to pass through therefore not allowing the washer to seat properly. Also I would check that the water level is not too high as this can give you the same reading, if so you can adjust the screw that is attached to the fill valve, lastly your flush valve could be faulty. All the best.

    And what about ticking sounds around 2 or 3 times a second? Is that the capacitor ?

    • @diyshop839
      @diyshop839 7 месяцев назад

      Hi there, Its unlikely to be the capacitor if your pump turns off and then back on again. There is a possibility that it is a faulty wiring issue in the pump, there's also is a possibility that the impeller is struggling to turn, due to a build up of sludge in the system. I have got another video which you may find helpful, this is the link: ruclips.net/video/O5ProxAE4f8/видео.htmlsi=jzHpIvZvFI9fa0I6 All the best.

  • @Lwbop
    @Lwbop 7 месяцев назад

    Hi there. How come when you put the cap on there wasn't a build up of pressure? If the water has no where to go when the valve is open surely this would result in a leak or burst pipe somewhere else? I'm a new homeowner so perhaps this is a dilly question 😅

    • @diyshop839
      @diyshop839 7 месяцев назад

      Hi there, This is a fail safe method, if for example the valve was to turn on and you have capped of the valve this simply acts as a end of a pipe run. So there's no chance of a burst pipe or a leak. All the best

    Can pump make difference in temperature???? Last year i installed central heating sistem and it was great, reaching temperature of 26 celsius easyyyyyyyy, going for 27 evan 28 somethimes!!!! BUT this year is not the same, going up to 26 and that’s it!!! I did bleed it little bit, evan went for that bolt inside. It is a little better but still not like last year!!!! Cleaned the stove nicely to before using it!!! What could be the problem?????

    • @diyshop839
      @diyshop839 8 месяцев назад

      Hi There, A new pump won't make a difference in temperature, however it will make it more efficient. When changing the pump I would always recommend draining down the system and adding inhibitor to the system. If you have a magnetic filter this needs to be cleaned. I would check the pump is set at the correct speed. Also bleed all your radiators systematically starting from downstairs and working your way upstairs and finishing with the radiator at the highest point. Lastly I would check your room thermostat it could be faulty. All the best DIYShop
