U probably need a clacky switch. Change the plate to carbon fibre, use UHMWPE tape to seal the flex cut. Probably can get it to clack, but won’t be as bright due to the flexcut.

@@maxkeeb_official haven't found a CF plate for it, and i've tried HMX pearls on it. I liked the sound but it's not truly clacky, in my opinion. i see where you're going though

@@Kenzie1051 You mean the plate seems bent upward? That’s because the gasket mounting point on the PCB. So the plate is free to move around the case. It will be held in place when you insert the switches.

@@maxkeeb_official every time you hold the plate in the video it seems to be bending downwards, barley able to resist gravity. around 0:27 and also around 1:55 are both places where we see this.

@@Kenzie1051it’s a soft material. Same thing can be seen if you’re using PC, PP or even POM plate.

I mainly use a TKL for productivity work. On a 65%, you can always use the FN key combinations.

@@maxkeeb_official we have to manage our expectation for flex cut PCB/plates. I had the same situation with my Zoom75, I can not run it foamless. It just sounds so thin and not my prefered sound signature. I had to replace it with non flex cut PCB and stiffer plate. With my Hi75, I just accept the fact that it is meant to run with all the foams. Your video gave all of us an idea of the possibility, I mean at least you tried right?

My M1W is very thocky and fuller while Hi75 is more towards clacky imo. Probably the PCB of M1W is non flex cut hence the fuller sound. I would recommend you picking up the Hi8 instead of this 2 boards. Superior value and finishing when compared to M1 and Hi75.

Just keep in mind that I hand lubed my switches and did the following mod. Sound might varies tho to diff table density as well. I use an uncut IXPE to enclose the case foam with the PCB itself. 1. Cut an IXPE sheet to PCB size 2. Use cellophane tape and tape on all edges of the IXPE sheet. Expose some adhesive part of the tape as it will be sticking on the PCB after. 3. Put the case foam between the IXPE sheet and the PCB. 4. Use the remaining adhesive tape to stick onto the PCB. To create a seal to the internals of the keeb. That’s basically it. Just sealing the internals with an IXPE sheet to make it sound more focus and full.

I’m from Malaysia so the direct conversion to USD is $130. It definitely punches above its level. The internals are well constructed and designed. Just that you can feel the difference when you’ve handled a QK or Cycle board.

If you've already splurged on Stabies and Boba switches, you should have considered a different barebone option for your keyboard build. Keychron keyboards fall short in terms of modern mounting structure and overall value for consumers.
