Correct, most are not as large as the CT's windshield and curved. Which adds to the risk of stress fracture. The bigger problem is the fact that the windshield already has a high-performance OEM film in the glass. So, when you add a film on the interior you are going to increase the stress load by trying to reject the heat back through the film on my glass. I am curious to know if the windshield breaks is your company going to cover the cost to replace it?

The CT has special roof glass. Tinting it doesn't have significant improvement. How much cooler do you think your CT gets inside before and after tinting the roof. I avoided tinting the roof. Would consider clear UV protection on the front though. The tint won't absorb heat like a dark tint would. I did that on my P85D and it helped.

It could still crack it - IMO. A silver exterior window film could be a bit safer - but it wouldn't last too long. We install opaque films to commercial windows on the exterior and the heat absorption can still break a single pane window.

Hi Patti, Thanks you for watching our video. If glare is a concern I would recommend the Prestige 40. The Prestige 70 is very light and will not reduce much of the visible light. There is also a Prestige 20X. This can be to dark for some residential applications.

you are 100% correct . I am not promoting it - just trying to warn people that are considering tint. However, I feel that very light films are not irresponsible. They are so clear and non-reflective that they just knock out the heat but do not impede vision.

Cool - I have nothing to gain. I just know that for most people that do it that they will be fine. However, I know that some people won't be so lucky.

It depends- Personally, with the new technology available I really like to promote the Prestige because it is non reflective. We install plenty of NV35 as well. However in a residential setting most of our clients prefer to have minimal change to their aesthetics. Where are you located in Florida?

This dual reflective has a dark reflection (not mirror), but apparently it isn’t noticeable. I’m in Tampa.

You can install it on the exterior and pick up a little extra performance. You then are trading some longevity of the product. It is mostly customer preference. This installation was installed for fade protection not heat rejection. So, picking up that extra heat rejection was not a huge concern for our client. Thank you for watching!

3M prestige does an exterior and interior version both with 10 year guarantees. They're rated to 1.02W/m^2K Double glazing at around 2.5. So adding another layer would in theory be a 30% reduction.

It all depends on preference. There are a lot of factors that can be attributed to a clients decision. Some clients have more tolerance than others for adding a slight bit of tint to their glass. A rule a thumb is that the larger your expanse of glass the more tint that you can add without perceiving a noticeable change. The 20, 40 & 50 are slightly less in cost than the Prestige 60 & 70

On average with the silicone attachment system around $20 per square foot .. All projects are priced typically after a site survey.

Hi Tori, It does have to be cut to each individual pane of glass. You most likely will need to have your windows caulked to prevent the water penetration.
