Hi, I'm looking for the name of a similar movement. It consists of a single hop rather than two hops. Single hop pendulum swing, for that matter. Do you know what other common names would that be called? And when are they used?

I don’t see much benefit of using bosu balls for regular squats, since they don’t let you focus on your legs doing the movement, and they also stop you from doing full range of motion smoothly
It's a progression move.... if you want to keep challenging your body, take away the element of balance... now you are really challenged! The bosu ball makes you unstable so you MUST enable more and different muscles to balance. Another way to challenge your squat is to raise your heels, or stand wider or more narrow... These are all ways to do a REGULAR SQUAT but add an element that challenges your body instead of ONLY increasing your weight load. You can also add progression with playing with TEMPO.... Try completing your exercise routine by moving SUPER SLOW. 4 counts contraction and 4 counts returning to start position. or you can try the Quick / Slow method. Quick contraction, Super slow release to start position. or even the opposite of that Super slow contraction and quick release (while still maintaining control of the weight) You can also progress this by adding weight, or going to one leg only. Standing on SOLID ground is great and fine, but that is not the only way to perform exercises.... and simply only increasing your weight is not the ONLY way to progress and challenge yourself! Using equipment like bosu balls, balance boards, TRX .... these are all great options to help us PROGRESS our strength and add a bigger challenge. NOT recommended for beginners or someone who has an injury, or even someone who cannot maintain proper form. You must be solid in the basics first and then you can start to add other elements to change a basic squat into something your body has to fight a little for... Let me know if you need any more help on exercise progression and how to go about getting started!
