CogDis Paradox Ending Final Battle
Просмотров 101 тыс.8 лет назад
Paradox ending final battle against the Chosen 4 in the fan game Mother: Cognitive Dissonance. Ana-Swirl is the most dangerous here if Brain Cyclone manages to land when reflect fades. Though, it's nowhere near as dangerous as PK Flash Ω! I chose a PSI-user build for Marvin (Larice) and didn't keep him on Reflect duty since I wanted to showcase some of the spells in this game. For pure damage, ...
Re insano el Saturnino 👻 3:04
Me acaba de dar un deja vu cerca del minuto 2:20
This might be one of the most fucked up endings in a video game ever
1:45 "Man this would go a lot faster with the Borange Ray. Wonder if he picked that up and just never equipped it." Yyyyep, you got it... but I have a question... Why have it equipped on him...? Seriously... NO SERIOUSLY... WHY DO PEOPLE ALWAYS PUT THE BORANGE RAY ON ALLINIVAR? I know it's a great weapon and all and covers Allinivar's natural lack of damage output BUT THERE IS A MUCH BETTER CHOICE. Allinivar has other things to do, like healing the team, using Shockwave, hitting every enemy (with either Multiprod or the electric variant), using his guitar, or even buffing the team with Empower. There is a team member who literally just... DOESN'T HAVE A ROLE IN MOST FIGHTS except for DPS
As far as I know, what's happening here is that you pushed Giegue so far down the rabbit hole of trauma that he tried to defend his shattered mind with the memories of what defeated him long ago. Of course, you still end up beating him down further and further, and inevitably his mind just... I dunno, collapses? Inevitably, since you basically just stopped (killed?) Giegue he doesn't have the chance to become Giygas and thus Earthbound never happens, royally screwing-up the timeline.
😁😁
This is even worse for the Applechasers than it seems at first. Niiue's singing allows the Applechasers to jump in and attack the Giegue core, but it's not the Applechasers that destroy Giegue, it's Giygas himself once the Applechasers destroy the Swirls that protect him. You just helped an all powerful Eldritch Abomination destroy what little rationality it still possessed at that point. Now there's nothing holding Giygas back, so it obliterates most of Magicant and possibly the real world as well.
So, in Explanation, Gygas gets extra traumatized, so his mind gets into the defensive again, the problem is that Alinivar gets the door open and gets to fight them thinking they can kill Gygas on the process, the problem is that they are seeing Gigue's core before fusing with Gygas, making him vulnerable, after killing the shadows protecting that core that Gygas were unable to touch it is able to consume Gigue because those shadows were Gigue's defense mechanism, so the power of Gigue gets his own will ad consume him forming a Gygas without any chains like earthbound but on full power Thing that was not on earthbound because the devils machine prevented it and in the end he was dissolving already
oh hey this looks pretty co-damnit
Oh THATS what the letters mean! N = Ninten A = Ana L = Lloyd T = Tony
Why the hell does Lloyd have an assault rifle?
megalovania means you killed too much and a boss is coming for your kneecaps
Hehehe. (S)he had babies. That little, 3-faces thing.
The ending is the least possible, considering a paradox would destroy all timelines, meaning we shouldn't even be able to get other endings, yet we still can, which means this ending doesn't happen. Although this is amazing.
THE SUPER GIYGAS TEAM
ここまでどうやって行くのか分からんw
I love hearing the sounds of the attacks and classical generic RPG menu scrolling while the coolest video game boss track plays in the background
The only thing that I don't get is that Teddy is there. He should have been critically wounded and bedridden at this point.
Bro you literally just used an assault rifle on a GOD.
I find this incredibly _sad._ And, unfortunately, I know that means I _have_ to do it.
伝説はもう始まっていたんだなって 思ったね
megalovania
I always thought what happens here is that Niiue "singing" causes a doorway to the source of Giygas' angst (the Chosen 4 from Mother 1) to open, and destroying them makes it so that Giygas can't form and as such, causes a time paradox since the events of Earthbound can't happen.
...Was I supposed to have Alinivar and co. up to level 89, or was that too high?
"You did it.. you bullied a vulnerable being, kinda fucked up but it's effective I suppose." -Goofy from Oneyplays
Guys if you die, you have to restart from the point where zarbol is still there
You can still use the fuzzy frog before you jump in the hole tho.
Imagine going up to giegue and saying, i shid you not, "Hey can you not attack our planet for 5 minutes? my dad fell into a well."
Let's think about this for a moment. There's gonna be obvious spoilers in this comment, so if you haven't played the game yet, I'd recommend at least watching a playthrough first. Giegue is severely emotionally wrecked from his upbringing. He may, or may not, have had an Eldritch Horror within him since birth. (CogDis doesn't make it clear if Giygas is a manifestation of his insanity or a separate entity in his since birth given what we've seen of the flashback scenes.) He has quite literally manifested a second persona in order to escape his feelings of regret and turmoil over his adopted parents and the planet Earth. In the final battle, there are several actions the player can do for different endings. The best of these involve getting Giegue to reconcile things with his positive emotions and ultimately working together in order to move on from his troubled upbringing. Then there's this ending. To achieve it, you have to go out of your way to teach Niiue (the personification of Giegue's positive emotions) an ability using an item you have limited access to which allows him to sing the eighty melodies during the battle against Giygas; a song the represents Maria's love for him but is also incredibly traumatic to him because of what surrounded it. This causes the already in the throws of insanity Giegue to have an even worse breakdown, as he's unable to properly process and digest the amount of feelings he's experiencing right now. Afterwards, Giegue forcefully retreats further into his mind. Niiue, along with the others, continue to follow and press him. In a complete nervous breakdown from them continuing to press him, Giegue forcefully manifests the four heroes from Beginnings/Mother 1 to try and defend himself; beings that are partially responsible for his aggravated state in this game proper. This doesn't stop Niiue or the protagonist from keeping forward, forcefully beating back these memories until all that's left is what is truly Giegue deep down; a scared, traumatized child who never learned to properly process his emotions. In the end, Niiue and the protagonist even forcefully beat *that* down as far as it can go, until all that's left is the enbodiment of his positive emotions. However, being positive is *not* the same thing as being emotionally healthy. And because of that, once the initial rush dies down... Everything begins to fall apart. When you really think about it, the paradox ending is a metaphor for the dangers of pushing down your emotions and putting on a fake happy mask to try and deny your own emotional turmoil. In the end, you'll only be making things worse than learning to process these feelings in the long run. Honestly, not half bad for an RPG Maker fangame. Hats off to the devs on this.
On hell of a sad ending
Just wanted to say i frequently come back to this comment to read it due to how good your analysis is. Thanks, fam
The only thing I can say of this is that Gygas is the one beating Gigue, not the party, thats because you have zero control of it and Gygas were forming already
Megalovania in earthbound fuck huahuahua
EarthBound was earlier than Undertale, so I shove your @ss down hehehhe
undertale fan moment
@@coffie2293 Confirmed
This looks like off...
Maybe because it's an RPG maker game.
^^
SANS-
No
Megalovania as seen on Undertale isnt the only time Toby Fox put it in a game, Toby Fox first used it on an Earthbound ROM hack, then on Homestruck, then this Earthbound fangame, and then Undertale, its just dissapointing to see people say things related to undertale on theese kind of videos, don't get me wrong, Undertale is a great game, the community is bad, that's what i can say
No.
@@coffie2293 Fun fact, Toby Fox didn’t work on this game. He’s listed under “Special Thanks” in the credits, so he was likely a source of inspiration, advice and Megalovania rights, but didn’t do any coding for the game.
This game really pulled a Trainer Red moment and made fighting the previous game's protagonists an optional ending for the player.
players:wait its megalovania but remixed one??? creators that used megalovania in their games:always has been,NOW GET DUNKED ON!
Cringe
oh hey mew gets a megalovania
GO GO!! :D
I play this game on my cellphone
idk how or why but the megalovnia remix here is strangely fitting for this fight....
i think undertale is copied this game
So, for those of you wondering why Megalovania is the theme used here, let's put things into perspective. Every other time Megalovania is the boss music, it's a sign that either the hero (Varik in the Halloween Hack, Terezi in Homestuck) or the player themselves (the Genocide Route in Undertale) is about to do something morally dubious (killing an frenzied old man / killing one of your closest friends) if not utterly vile and reprehensible (killing EVERYTHING) when they could've picked a considerably less drastic path. CogDis's Paradox path is the only Mother-related game that lets you beat down the main villain with brute force, which is antithetical to the Mother franchise as a whole, where the main villains are inevitably only able to be beaten by non-violent means. Not to mention that since killing Giygas in such a way causes a host of problems for the entire Mother timeline, it's no wonder why whatever's left of the Mother 1 cast is opposing you and why this ending nets you a Time Crash.
But if you've killed everything, that means you're the villain. And, therefore, wouldn't that make Sans the hero?
@@MegaPokeman1 Undyne was the hero (heroine, rather), since her goal was to stop Chara to save everyone. Sans, on the other hand, seems less concerned with preventing deaths (though of course they still affect him, especially Papyrus' death) and more worried about stopping the player so that the world won't be destroyed/the timelines won't be irrevocably fucked.
So Megalovania is the song for when you do something bad?
@@somedudethatripsplanetinha4221 i think yes
@@somedudethatripsplanetinha4221 it could be argued that what terezi did for her version of megalovania wasn't arguably bad but rather it was a very drastic way to go. Megalovania isn't a song about doing wrong, it's a song about taking the most extreme path to achieve your goals.
Every single time Megalovania starts playing, no matter where it is, its because you fucked up royally Earthbound: Halloween hack You fight an old man backed up into a corner with nothing to lose because you are a fucking asshole Idk if homestuck counts, but from what ive seen, its a bad time. Wait fuck take that ba- Undertale Do i even have to tell you? But this is the most fucked up instance imo Your basically breaking every single law of the time space continuum, fighting the protagonists of Mother (making YOU the final boss), all the while trying to kill Giygas, and when you do kill him, you make a bloody time paradox. Yeah, out of all the times Megalovania is played, this one is the biggest "You fucked up" moment, because you fucking destroy the universe at large. Good job.
Besides, by this point, not only are you killing Giygas, but the original personality of Giegue (rescueable in the Severance route) as well. In fact, you FOCUS all your attention on Giegue's original personality.
Legal
NO SANS!!!!!
No, shut upp
wait was this made by toby?
Megalovania....??? WHAT
Yes
If you think about it, if the protagonists are fighting us, does that mean _were_ the final boss?
It's a paradox after all, so yeah
Holy shit *we're pretty much playing the final boss of Mother 1 from the other side*
no your dad is the final boss jk
It has to be a paradox or something. Theres no way were the bad guys lol
@@FartquadGI The main character isn’t always the hero.
"I did it. I saved the world!" universe: no
Megalovania: The song that plays when you're the bad guy.
Lol that's also happens in Undertale Genocide Route
@@lelu.videos no, in ehh you are the heroes, even though you need to do something realy bad to win.
What about Homestuck ?
Megalovania A song for bad people... But heroes nonetheless. Despite everything Vriska is still a hero. Despite his laziness Sans is still a hero. Despite your paradoxical actions, they are still heroes. Dr. Andonuts breaks the chain. Fuck him. "You don't have to 8e a good person to 8e a herohero"
@@gegor41311 I think it's more meant to be the theme of "the protagonist is choosing to be an asshole"
Universal universe self destruct! Also isn't this an ending were your kinda the bad guy trying to kill giygas with brute force and it works but you create a paradox Any fan game with paradox gets inf × ? / ?/inf
You literally killed Giegue in this ending with all 4 protagonists in Earthbound Zero.
Wouldn't it be ironic if Niiue was inducted into SSBU. This would be the first fan character to a Nintendo property in a smash bros game. I know it will never happen but would be cool if it did.
I mean, it's kinda already happened when Mewtwo was introduced in SSBB.
Every sound in this video is music to my ears~ Including the attack sounds.
