    The lead steward of this race was Nazir Hoosein, the man also responsible for the 1998 British GP fiasco for which he was suspended from stewarding for one year. Guy shouldn't have been allowed anywhere near a racetrack, an absolute disgrace.

    maybe the stewards thought he didnt leave enough room turning in. in fact there wasnt enough room for all 4 wheels of the ferrari to stay on the track so he had to go to the grass wich caused understeer. thats the only explanation i can think of. if he left a little more space while turning in and michael then would have crashed in to him i think michael would have got the penalty. it was montoya trying to overtake schumacher, he knew he was there due to the fact he was trying to overtake. yet he turned in like there was no one.

  • @ludovicchauvin6979
    @ludovicchauvin6979 3 года назад

    this is very controversial. First turn here is very specific since you have to turn right while breaking in the corner. It s not an easy task. What I can see here is JPM letting just enough room to Schumi. But the german is pushed right away on the curb at the entry, and breaking on this particular surface is not the way to do it correctly. That s why Schumi miss a little bit his braking distance and finally understeer into JPM. What is sure here is we don t have enough video footage to define if the penalty is fair or not. A cockpit camera from Schumacher would be very usefull.

    Was disgusted that day. Not only as a great JPM fan, but also as sports passionate. Disgusted. You can clearly see Micheal tried to force braking zone where he couldn't (too internal), he refused to let Juan pass, ending to understeer into Montoya's car. And FIA penalized Juan LOL...a racing accident, maybe you can find out Micheal understeer had a second purpose, I'm not sure, don't know...but of course Ferrari International Assistence had their vision and came to penalize the man who gave Micheal hard time on the track...glad I left F1, such a stupid sport...

    Raikkonen's performance in the wet that day remains one of the most impressive wet weather drives I have seen in the 21st century. The Michelin wet was absolutely NOWHERE.

    This was one of the greatest wet weather drives ever by Kimi. You ask anyone at McLaren, and they will tell you nobody has a CLUE how Kimi finished second on that GARBAGE Michelin wet tyre when Bridgestone had a 1.5+ second advantage in those conditions. Beyond belief performance, NOBODY mentions.

    Kimi was so chilled in the interview, but what a season this was. So damn exciting. Kimi was just unreal in this race (and all season). Somehow made those Michelins work in the wet and kept up with Michael on the far superior Bridgestones to setup a showdown at Suzuka.

  • @pizzapower95
    @pizzapower95 7 лет назад

    all the clowns here defending montoya dont know that a f1 car cannot turn that sharp. and montoya knew that verry well, he basicly forced this collision! if schumi stands on the brakes in that spot the whole field will crash into him... but montoya fans are just as arrogant as montoya himself, they dont care about the other cars on the track, they just drive.

    • @Asdfqwerty1243
      @Asdfqwerty1243 5 лет назад

      You are talking out of your ass buddy. It's not his job to let Michael past. He gave him racing room. Even Michael says that in the post race interview. The only thing is Michael being the psycho that he was, also probably spoke to his team about the incident and blamed him for lack of space. Michael lost his car, just like in 1994 Adelaide, 1997 Jerez, 2006 Monaco, etc. The only reason Juan got the penalty was because the Ferrari machine went to work to get Juan that penalty. In the interview he tells the world that he didn't feel squeezed but in the race he clearly spoke to his Engineers and sought a penalty for Juan. He has a character problem.
