Xwave V3 - Challenging Waves | Exocet Original
If the Breeze were used as a light wind backup for wave events, would it be reasonable for competitors to transport such long boards to each competition? I could definitely see this for local and amateur events, but less likely for professional events, where the waves might be larger.
You are correct about the amateur event. In fact, maybe we need these local amateur events more than ever: slalom, speed, wave, freestyle and whatnot. As for transportation issues, surfers move their longboards all the time. The same can be said about raceboarders and now Windsurfer LT sailors.
Patrice, you have been a strong inspiration for me to windsurf together with Robby, Robert, Eric and Björn.
Don’t hesitate to show the individual parts… so we can picture up ourselves. Isn’t it also related to the hull shape and how it splits the chop? For example to have a little more V under the mast foot. I can feel on my own board, not a Exocet, when I am not fully tuned, the board slams on the chop and reduce speed, not allowing the flying mode over the chop.
You are right about the V helping to keep the speed in choppy conditions. But here we wanted to focus specifically on the shock absorbers. In the end, it is a synergy of features that makes the board fast, or agile, or quick to accelerate, with both the absorbers and V being contributing factors.
What Patrice says about weight categories is very interesting. It make more sense than sex/ages in windsurf/foil
Indeed. We will see if these ideas will have a chance to take root again.
Beautiful
is your brother (Thierry I guess) still into windsurfing?
We will check with Patrice on that one:)
i always loved Bretoon boards, like Exocet and JPK
Thank you for your dedication! We will not let you down!
will you team up with other brand again? like back in the day with AHD? i loved those boards, now i'm sailing exocet boards. !
Right now Exocet is joining with Loftsails and Unifiber's RnD efforts.
It’s awesome to see windfoiling and Windsurfer LT taking off around the world 🤩🙏👍
It's not always about the next fastest, turniest or jumpiest. Windsurfer LT is appealing cause it peels off the technical complexity of the performance windsurfing but keeping the fun and competitive aspects of it. The default mast is 40% carbon. How windfoiling will develop is yet to be seen.
Windfoil is awesome and for me more rewarding on my homespot. Gusty lake. Jibing is easier to keep planing even in low winds. Good speeds and control is easy to master. Fir example the iqfoil is awesome for freeriders an freeracers. If you wanna go even faster then go for a slalom foil
Windfoiling is another facet of our sport to be enjoyed. It allows us to make the most of our time on the water, even on less-than-ideal days for recreational sailing. Interestingly, Windsurfing LT offers the same advantage. While both activities appeal to different aspects of sailing, they lead to the same outcome: less downtime and more hours on the water to enjoy.
Intresting ! Nice to hear these chats and thoughts behind the brand
Thank you! There is one more to go this coming Friday:)
Great talks on longboard glide and fun and I love windsurfer LTs and Exocet long wave! I sell the them in my shop in Ft. Myers Florida!!
The most difficult chalenge is having a market, the offer is bigger than the market currently is, only core Brands or the big financial groups can survive, the core brands only a very few now, by their quality and real development, they present a product that is superior in design and function, the financial groups because they can loose money and keep going, huge marketing and online dumping strategies, they are just destroying the market, most of the customers fall for the marketing strategy, and 50% discount prices, but every year more clients start to understand who really is here to stay, and really invests in development, have a honest strategy respecting values and prices. The second problem is the market is pretty much hostage of a few factories that produce in the far east and keep rising prices every year. All and all this is a business that to make a few hundred thousand, you need to invest a few millions.... but the same is happening with most businesses, globalization makes it hard on everyone, most of the local shops are doomed to disappear the next 5 years as the investment needed to have stock in a shop versus the money you get from it it's nothing mutch than ridicullous, and the product devalorates about 50% in 6 months, so what you put in actually looses value at the speed of light, you need passion not reason to enter this business, or you need to work with a core brand with different values that actually respect the shop as a partner in a path of grouth together, but there are very few Brands left like that, I have the pleasure of working with some of them Goya, Quatro, KT the rest is madness, where you endup selling cheaper than you bought, loosing money often as they sell to online hard discount shops at lower price than you buy the preorders beggining of the year, so you're stuck with stock that is impossible to sell and make money, meanwhile they could´t not care less, there is always a new passionate idiot that thinks is going to open a surf shop or school to change the world ready to buy.....
🎉
Awesomeness 🤩👍🙏
Great windsurfer and wave champion!! I started in 1982 also and have been following you ever since! God bless you 🤩👍🙏 now I ride and sell the 112 and 132 Feel Foil!! Love that board!
Thank you for your feedback:) Hopefully, you will enjoy the rest of the series. Stay tuned!
It’s the most awesome board I ride and I promote them and sell them in my shop and my team rider loves it ! Shawn Campbell
Awesome! Happy to hear that!
The wing foil boards are moving to fast displacement hulls instead of planning hulls. Also moving into narrow width + longer to keep same volume to get into foiling quicker (in less wind conditions and/or to lift with smaller foils) ..... windsurf boards still look like fin boards
Indeed, the wind foil boards evolved into something different from wind boards. The trend (length over width) is mostly true in downwinder SUPs and wing boards.
Love the Freefoil 112 and tell people about it in my shop and tell people to buy it and go flying 🤩👍🙏
Well done on the new Exocet product video's! The boards look really good with Loftsails.
How does Breeze compare to the greatest of all boards The X Longboard 11-5
Of course it is better:) Why would Patrice shape something worse:)
The Breeze really caught my eye and I actually asked for an offer from a local shop. My goal is to get into waves, at the moment just doing freeride. Would the Breeze also work well for freeriding in lighter conditions, like 10-12 knots and so? I have a Windsurfer LT I usually take out on lighter days (with a normal rig, the WS rig), but if the wind picks up it would be cool with footstraps. Love the feeling how longboars just glide on the water effortlessly.
With the right sail, it will work surprisingly well. If you are aiming to make a leap from freeride to waves, Breeze can actually be the least painful way to do it:)
Vive la Bretagne ❤
Looking forward to a presentation of the longboard you forgot - the rs380. Love that you dare to do things your way.
It will come eventually. In fact, we didn't forget, but raceboards are in the league of their own:)
Finally a brand who focus on accessible products. Hopefully it will make windsurf popular again. The breeze is really a great concept. Love it.
Thank you very much for that comment!
Could this be ridden strapless? I love stepping around/foot trimming my 11'8 windsup on a wave, but would love a smaller version when waves get bigger/steeper and still keep the longboard vibes 🤙
Where was this filmed? Thanks in advance.
This was filmed in Tarifa:)
Indeed, it can be! The 10'10 Breeze comes with a 31 cm US -Box fin.
I hate to be that grumpy old guy, but the music is too loud. It overpowers the audio, which I really want to hear.
Valid point! Thank you. We will pass the word!
@@Exocet183 thank you 👌🏼😊
What is the product. I’m assuming it’s a wind surfer, but I’m not 100%
Do you mean the Breeze board? It is a wave board:)
Belle conception! Ca donne envie pour le jours limites en side off!
I'd like to see some longer, less edited footage of the Breeze in light side/side-on conditions.
Valid but tricky to fulfil:) If you check the Breeze video itself, most of the drone footage was done when the wind droped. Wave guys were staying outside since they couldn't really get planing, but Breeze was going strong:)
@@Exocet183 still looks fairly windy, kites are in the air and whitecaps on the outside.
would love to see more waves with this board
Hopefully, more content is coming soon::)
I personally would prefer the Happy from Mr. Bruch :) Makes me happy :)
To each their own! As long as we love the sport and keep charging. ...though, Breeze would still prove superior in super light winds:)
@@Exocet183 I agree and thank you for the great reply and attitude! Honestly - I am really happy :D that there are more and more such concepts bringing the fun back to our sport!
C'est Patrice Belbeoch le rider?
He is a shaper first and foremost. And he wanted to present the board himself.
I still use my 106 cross 2010 board 🤙🤙🤙

I had that FreeStyle black board 101L you made back in 2009-ish? If you have still one in stock, I'd love to hear from you Friends at Exocet!. Merci
Hi! With such a nice feedback we do feel sorry saying that there is no stock going that far back:)
@@Exocet183 Thank you Exocet! Little hope but I had to try. Bought it from Jean Rathle in SF (you may have known him). I enjoyed that board so much but had to give it away when I switched countries last year. I had broken it, let it in the backyard 1 year, then fixed it and sailed it 5 more years after that. A friend tried it and got one immediately. We use to call ourselves the black board team. Still missing it. Would love to get a custom version of it. Cheers!
@@StCyp Thats a cool story! Thank you for sharing. We will definitely relay it to Patrice Belbeoc'h:)
I used to have a universal wave 68l and a 78l in my board quiver back in the day loved them 😊
Do you still go wave sailing? New Xwaves are from the same breed of universal all-wave designs.
