@@ezelk1337 the front doors of most cars is in the middle of the post so how close the post is to the wall is not going to change how you get in and out of the car. But if it’s too close to the wall it will be hard to work on the vehicle when taking tires off or whatever. My lift is about 12” from the wall any closer would be more aggravating to work. It would be nice if it was farther from the wall but it has been fine.

@@rowdyridesbryanacres3106 That is excellent to hear. I have a asymmetrical 9,000 pound lift. I think that I could have it a foot from the wall and still drive another car next to it. I will mock it up tomorrow and get it installed soon. Thanks for the super quick reply back. Eric

@@ksduathlete yes it still looks the same. I used a clear coat that is rated for 8 years. And if I wax it or park it under a shelter I’m sure it will last longer. I blew up the engine two years ago and it’s been sitting in the elements, I recently got a new engine for it and will be putting it back together soon.

@ I cut mine down to a short bed . I got so many layers of paint on it . Housepaint too.. it’s got lots of character. I just want to sand it down but not fix all the dents . Spray a black primer then shoot it white . Sand thru or might try using lacquer thinner to wear through then clear coat it . Have to wait until spring !

@ Eastwood tools has a 4 inch wide grinder/sander that is really good at removing paint Harbor freight has a similar tool. That’s what I would use. If I was you you can buy low cost Direct to metal primer but don’t skimp out on the clearcoat.

@@philip4x4guy not a dumb question. It’s not recommended to run a gear reduction in front of a drop box because you will bust the gears if you put it under a load. I actually experienced this first hand and it’s in my first video of this truck in the mud. You should find and watch that video 🤘

@@paulshallo4195 Thanks buddy. On the 9/16 spindle to knuckle bolts I treated them like a 9/16 lug nut. You torque them to around 160 foot pounds. That’s what my air impact is designed to do so I just used it. And yes I bought a 5 gallon bucket of grease and packed the knuckles full. But if your axle housing seals are bad it will push the grease into your axle housing. So make sure that they are good. I’m working on a video of installing meritor hubs for gear reduction. AKA hater kit. So be looking for that video in the next week or so.

They are 3/4 and yes I believe the tube was 120. It was slightly bigger than the bungs but I centered them as good as I could.

Your truck came together nice. I’m collecting parts for a truck on 18.4 16.1 tires. I can’t decide if I’m doing 2wd flipped front end or I have some old 50s 2.5 GM axles 🤷‍♂️

@@rigosandovalrico584 that’s hard to say. If your build is yourself and are resourceful you can save some money but most trucks like mine that people dropped off a truck and cash spend around 80k plus the truck.

@@rowdyridesbryanacres3106 no problem, my truck is a baby compared to yours, I run a 1998V10 Ram 2500, 8 1/2” lift, running 40” irocks, with move welded winch bumper and 12,000 lbs winch

If I would have barely turned the tires and turned side to side, I would’ve went right through it.

It has a banks, monster, ram intake, a cold air intake, and a tune, that’s it.
