      Yes! It's an awesome feature, and I'm glad it worked this time. It's so odd that I could stitch out the 3 before with no problems. But now that I remember back to that blurred era is my life🤣, it hit me that when the thread got caught on the thread guide... and was really pulled hard... and frayed at one point, I bet that caused the problem. I wouldn't think that thread pull would be enough to misalign the stitch, but it probably was. Live and learn.

    So once I OK the "Move" key, then use the "Rotate" key does the machine set the placement of the Move key and conversely, if I use the Rotate key does the machine save where I moved it to? Not sure if this makes sense. Always seems like I'm moving, moving, changing, rotating, etc. and the machine doesn't save. Also, I did an E2E quilt today. The first row stitched over about an inch on the batting on the right. I was able to shrink it little by little on the second row so the stitching didn't stitch on the batting.

    • @kofoedsandy
      @kofoedsandy Месяц назад

      I have found for E2D, once you move, adjust the size... those adjustments should stay for the "existing hoop/ frame/ segment", but there may be slight adjustments needed with every new hooping. The only place I noticed the machine remembers is if you are near the bottom. It seems to keep those changes (increase or decrease size) in its memory across the bottom. When you move the hoop over or down, you will need to recheck it. If you have to restart the machine guided E2E, and continue on another day, and have turned the machine off, it's good to recheck how things are aligned before stitching.

    I have a DM2 and find it frustrating hooping baby onesies. All the prep to get it prepared so the fabric doesn't fall in the hoop. Have used both the magnetic and the regular hoops as well as hoop guards, clips etc. I slow the DM2 down as do not like the idea of having my fingers near the needle while trying to make sure the fabric doesn't fall forward. I think if the Skitch had a 6x6 or 5x7 hoop and it could stitch at 600 per minute it would be way more attractive. The Skitch won't work without Artspira. There is no way to send designs to the machine without the app. You don't have to pay for the subscription to send designs, but there's no other "connection" to the machine.

    I was worried that heavy threadwork was going to be too heavy for the light knit. Looks great!

      @teriadams7398 me too! It washed up nice too, thankfully.

    If you don't like the color they suggest, pick your own. I probably would have chosen several different colors. I never follow a pattern exactly. 😂 I pick out what I like and change the rest, especially in quilt patterns and fabrics. 😂

      @teriadams7398 yes I do that too. On that big one, I just wanted to use what they used. Gorgeous.

    I wonder who designed that peacock. It's sitting on a cherry tree branch and leaves, and it has very large peony like flowers. It makes no sense to me, logically, but it is pretty.

    Maybe it's the bobbin, I didn't hear if you said you use pre-wound bobbins. I have heard other people say that is a problem for them. Maybe a different weight thread could help, going heavier or lighter.

    • @kofoedsandy
      @kofoedsandy Месяц назад

      @teriadams7398 it could have been the bobbin. I used a separate bobbin winder that time, but I've used those bobbins before. I like to wind my own, for now. But, I have had 2 bobbin winders and don't really like either one. They don't wind evenly. I've done a lot of thinking and research since this video. I think I overstabilized. Next time, I'll just use one layer of fusible medium weight cut away. I had used two because the first layer left the sweater too stretchy, so the stabilizer must have had some give. I'm going to try a similar pattern on another sweater with one layer of medium weight cut away on the bottom, water soluable on top, float light weight tear away on the bottomto see if that helps. 😊

    I don't own an embroidery machine. I am researching watching all you folks on RUclips. When I hear you say " that doesn't sound good"...I'm getting worried. LOL

    Wow! What a journey. Thanks for sharing. I have a lap sized quilt that I plan to do in the hoop quilting. Do you think the 10x10 Dime hoop would work?

    • @kofoedsandy
      @kofoedsandy Месяц назад

      @elizabethk8938 I think that hoop should work on a lap quilt. Good luck! Have fun! If you have a similar machine, when you program in the quilt size using the hoop size you will use, the machine will tell you how many hooping (segments or frames), and you can tell how many hoopings there will be, and you can decide if you want to switch to a larger size. I think it should be fine, and it may be a little easier to maneuver that size on a smaller quilt, too.

    If the Solaaris is the same as the Luminaire, then you can do stitch outs of line and picture drawings scanned into IQ designer. Digitizing is easy in IQ and allows more creativity.

      @sherrikoers1438 yes, when I get to scanning, I want to scan images and do fill ins, but I also want to see what's in my instruction book and go through that.

      @sherrikoers1438 I've used IQ designer to do fill ins of shapes now and then. Should be interesting to continue that learning more.
