Wow! Thank you so much. I'm glad they help. Actually, I just thought about those marks the machine makes to line up the rows the other day. I don't remove them, but if I was featuring the stitching on the back, then I might try. But, I don't think most people will even notice. Mostly, we will just know. And, I think the mark that looks like lightning is the icon that takes you back to the connecting point. I'll review that again.

You mentioned you wish you had more edge to edge designs on your Solaris.. Designs by juju, is having a sale 75% off their whole website. I have used some of their embroidery designs, with great results.. but never have used the edge to edge yet.. I just bought some this week.. hoping to try them in the future..

I had hoped they would add to the 10 machine guided design inside the solaris, but they didn't. The new radiance machine has more..i doubt they upgrade the solaris any more. I'm getting closer to feeling more confident doing E2E without machine guided instructing..i will try that soon. @ruthh1776

Yes, I understand. I'm using a very old laptop. For some of the cards, I use a card reader. That seems to work well, but like you, when the laptop with old xp dies, I won't be able to use the customizer. Then it's just cards and regular sewing. I will use my other machine for transferring designs most of the time to save time.

I got it from the Sewing Source, Lake Villa, Illinois. You can see their website in my description if you want to try them... help a small business, and you can also get them direct from DIME, designs in machine embroidery. They are online and have a website. Just be sure to get the one that works with your machine. If that's the same ad mine, then find the babylock one.

@ruthh1776 thanks. It's so funny that it is in my nature to be quiet, and somehow, this gabbing that I do during the video comes easier. I guess I'm used to talking to myself... but really, I'm not because some are listening. That's really nice to know.

@ruthh1776 I do have an old table in my basement that I use to lay out the sandwich before I quilt the piece. Hey, this is my 3rd quilt, and I've done a couple of other edge to edge projects. Practice really helps it go into my brain. We all need that to get confidence, that's for sure.

@anitraanderson931 thank you so much. That's good to know. Sometimes, I'm hard on myself. I used it today for class. It worked very well to carry the bulky rulers and things.

Thank you. I'm glad the videos help someone. I have bought mostly floriani thread. I started with a 100 color pack when I bought the machine last year when i guy the best discount from my local sewing store. I keep adding to it. I worked with my husband to create a wall rack that swings back and forth. That helps my back and neck. I wait for sales and try to get more then. Otherwise, I just get the colors I think I'm missing. And, I keep track of the ones I bought on a list I printed out from floriani. I think most thread companies have a list.

I bought my machine at a store that is over an hour's drive away from me, so I appreciate any and all advice. They are very nice though and have told me I can call anytime. ☺️

@@kofoedsandy You have done so much with your machine! I haven't even gotten started other than to try to learn a few things. Too much other stuff going on right now. Through the years, I've done a lot of sewing, quilting, garments, home decor, doll clothes, and repairs, etc. I'm almost 73 years old, so this was a gift to myself. I know I'll never learn everything about it, but I just needed something like this at this point in life.

@anitraanderson931 and... for the squeak, I took it in for its annual checkup, tube up because of the squeak, and got it back about 2 weeks later. I so missed having it. 😭 I told the mechanic I still heard it a little on and off. He said to keep aware of it to see if it increases, because it was just here and there and not all the time. Yesterday, I heard it more at the very slow speed every time it started embroidering. So I'm going to call again. Hate to do it because he's so busy, but I got to. I will be so sad if it needs to go back for oil or something. I'm already 2 weeks behind and have worked like a crazy lady to catch up. I may try again today. Maybe it will be gone. 🤞🙏🏼

When I got my Solaris 3 last year, I went on eBay and searched for the instruction manual and found people who have printed what's in the machine. There are 3 bound books... one for sewing, one for embroidery, and one that shows all the designs. I love having them. I can make notes in them and study them, etc. I think they cost about $50 or $60 for all 3 last year. I am willing to bet there are people still selling them today. There was more than one person selling them when I found mine. Good luck!!

Ok, thank you. Are you looking for help on this particular machine? I moved onto my old Babylock Esante, but I can go back and do a quick video on that if it helps. Each machine is a little different.

You may need to check the Brother Skitch website. Do a search for that error and include the words " brother Skitch. " I hope you find an answer.

I recommend watching the videos that brother has made. They are on the internet. I'm not a Skitch expert. I ended up not keeping mine. These few videos-I challenged myself to see if I could justify having it and my larger machine. After all my tests, I decided to return it. But it is a great machine for beginners. I do remember a lot about the machine, but really the brother videos are excellent. I really liked the machine. I have spinal issues, so the biggest drawback for me was ergonomic related issues and speed.

Oh, I found paper manuals on eBay. There's more than one person there that prints and binds them. If you search ebay for solaris (and whatever your model is...2..3... vision) instruction manual I think you should find it.

Yes! It's an awesome feature, and I'm glad it worked this time. It's so odd that I could stitch out the 3 before with no problems. But now that I remember back to that blurred era is my life🤣, it hit me that when the thread got caught on the thread guide... and was really pulled hard... and frayed at one point, I bet that caused the problem. I wouldn't think that thread pull would be enough to misalign the stitch, but it probably was. Live and learn.

@@kofoedsandy I'm so glad to hear that! Thank you! I've had a Pfaff for over 30 years, an excellent machine. But I've heard that they're not what they used to be so I'm hesitant to get another one. I wanted to want the Bernina because the store is so much closer to my home, but I liked the Baby Lock better. I'm waiting to hear on a final price/package.

@anitraanderson931 I had my Babylock Esante for 25+ years. It will work but not as easy as with the new technology on the newer machines. I have an old Janome Memorycradt 10001. Same thing... great machine for basic sewing and embroidery, but I only use it with the embroidery cards made to go with it. Yes, I could break out an old,old laptop with xp operating system to transfer designs from a cd to the machine, but it's so much easier doing it via USB or better yet via wifi!

That's personal preference to me. I usually use black with dark colors and white with light colors... Same with stabilizer colors. I only match bobbin thread when I'm doing embroidery lace.
