Hi, I can’t remember if the longest roots touched the bottom or side of the pot, but there was definitely enough room for the roots to fill out and form a good root ball, especially since it was a bare root rose. Roses tend to grow slowly on my balcony in my climate, so I try not to have too much extra soil in the pot or else the roots might rot or the soil might attract a lot of fungus gnats. Right now I have the rose tree in a pot that’s a couple of inches bigger than the one in the video, and I’ll move it up to a bigger size again when the roots have filled the pot up (probably in a year or two). It’s a lot more work than putting the tree in a bigger pot from the beginning, but it also saves space on my balcony, and the tree is easier to move around. Thanks for watching! 🌸

Thank you. Yes, the sun was in and out of the clouds that afternoon, and I think the autoexposure on the camera phone overcorrected and washed out a lot of the colours. Which is too bad because the irises were so colourful and vibrant! 🤣 I tried to fix it in my editing program, but the video still has some of that faded, washed out quality. @@notjustpinkflowers it's very closer to the river Arno, among olive trees and from there you can see quite all the city! The iris is actually the simbol of Florence, although it seems a lylium.

I agree, they’re really addictive! The Brother Cadfael I got in this video didn’t make it through the up and down spring we had (all of my roses had a tough time). If I can find another one, I’d like to try it again because I keep hearing great things about this variety. Thanks for watching! 🌹🌹
