@@chin58889 Nicaragua cichlids are more aggressive to each other than to other fishes in tank. I was advised to keep only 1 in the tank rather than pair or group. As I have rocks and driftwood in my tank so chasing other fishes was not that easy, they try but ignore after 2-3 times. Yes Nicaragua are a bit more aggressive than geophagus, but sometimes it also depends on the aquarium setup and tankmates. I usually learn about the fish and consult other fish keepers before buying one if that will be suitable for the tank or not. I'm just sharing you my experience, as I'm still learning about cichlids.

It's koi platinum angel fish. It has little orange on the top side of the head that is not clearly visible in video. I assume marble anglefish has only black color strips or marks on white

No cupid cichlid in the aquarium. You might be talking about Thread fin Acara.

Yes it chased the geophagus but not much. It was trying to settle in new environment as it was looking for a territory but geophagus was not much bothered. If you see my tank has lot of diversions and escaping corners from drift wood and rocks. So chasing is not so easy for long. I also kept her in isolation for few days before adding to my tank. Cichlid behavior changes according to the environment at some extent, depending on the habitat it came from last tank. This is what I think just sharing my knowledge and experience, I'm not expert fish keeper still learning.

There are two blue cichlid in the tank -frontosa cichlid -nicaragua cichlid

While I don't know about african rift lake species living in slightly acidic environments, I do know that a lot of south american species can do just fina and dandy in levels even above 7.5. Obviously, it's not likely that they will spawn in such parameters

@@moretoweekend2361 Yes, it's true about agression also. Even though I live in Siberia, right now the temperature inside is 27 degrees. And I can see my poor thorinchthys is choking even though the filtration and aeration are turned to max. I have added some ice from the fridge, but this hasn't helped much so far.

I think you're right. I think they're part of the T. Helleri group, which generally prefer cooler water than the Meeki group (common Firemouth). Meeki doesn't seem to mind water that warm, but I usually kept them at 25 or 26C which is a safe temp for most tropical fish in general.

Standard firemouth are said to be more tolerant to water condition and aeration problems. However, from what I was told they also seem to prefer slightly warmer water. And they are less demanding in terms of needing harder water. Firemouth live more in lakes and swamps of Guatemala and southern Mexico. Eliotti in streams of eastern Mexico.
