Using Kustom PA Cabinets as Guitar Cab
A quick demo of using a Quilter Micro Pro Mach 2 and a 15W Tube Amp with some passive Kustom PA cabinets. I have disabled the piezo tweeters in both examples which have a cross over point at about 5k.

Lt. Columbo Gets Slapped
Просмотров 7496 лет назад
Share in the whimsical adventures of police Lieutenant Columbo as he muddles through clues and gets slapped in the face in the name of justice! He may appear non-threatening, but you will need a small nuclear device to actually register any impact. Most did not know that his face was comprised of a mixture of Kevlar and Carbon Fiber for seasons 8 through 11. This was done for realism and to all...

Can you make a video? How you add the switch? To disconnect the Twitter on the pa speaker
Hey there I'll see what I can do but basically you want to make sure of 2 things first - 1. the tweeter you are disconnecting must be passive (not an active bi-amped design) 2. The frequency range of the woofer will work well for guitar. Most PA speakers with an active tweeter disconnected will sound very dark using just the woofer. If you are doing this to one of the Kustom speaker I was using you will be good. The switch is just an interrupt switch - like an on/off switch. A simple SPST switch will work - something like this mgispeedware.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/spst-marine-switch-diagram.jpg HTH!
@@eriwebnerr how to know if the Twitter is passive or active before doing this mod
@@eriwebnerr if I don’t want to use a switch, just disconnect a Twitter without the switch will still work
@@Texas059 Sorry I was mistakenly thinking about active PA speakers. This will only work with passive (non-powered) PA speakers. So disregard what I said about bi-amped design, that doesn't apply here. To answer your other question, you can just disconnect the tweeter and try it out and it wont hurt anything. You should just try and make sure the woofer has an ohm rating that will work with your amp. But a quick test at a lower volume would be fine if your not sure.
@@eriwebnerr thanks I will try that my guitar amp is eight ohms
Can you show us how did you add a switch on the back of the PA speaker how to hook it up?
Hello. This one has worked so well, but now sound is so low...the ac adaptor is not working anymore. I have tried with another one. I try with US also. Can hear the drums but sound is low, is this pedal dead ? The différent effects are working but it's like the amp inside is not working anymore. Any suggestion ?
Hi there - sorry to hear. I don't have this unit longer but I would say if it is generally working but you just cant hear the amps, then it must be a setting and the unit probably is ok. If all the sound is low then the unit probably has a problem. I would look for a global level setting for the amps or the amp model you have selected in the patch. Hope that helps :)
@@eriwebnerr Thank you for supporting. Very appreciate your help. All sound is low, all patches amps, delay, etc...all sound effects are ok... so it's the unit. Maybe if I clean the contacts...it's a cheap pédale but I found it very useful. Sometimes it is just fine to understand how it works. You helped me in this way. Thank you
@@kynta2220 No problem. If this is happening with the headphone output, the problem could be the headphones too. Some headphones require special equipment to drive them. They just don't with every price of equipment. Test the other outputs and different headphones see. It's just a thought, hope it works out for you
Can't get mine to work.is this a standalone or do i need to use the USB with daw
Nice playing sir
doesn't say a word about hOW TO DO IT
A friend gave me an old Squire LB15, which is a small bass amp (8" speaker) and has an external speaker output jack. So I bought the Kustom PA KPX10 to go with it. Both are 8 ohms. I'm getting some fizzle noise when using the Kustom when turning up the bass control. I'm suspecting the tweeter in the Kustom might be the noise source. Did you run across this problem which got you to disconnect the tweeter in the Kustom?
Hey Russ no I really just disconnected it because it was outside the range of a typical guitar speaker. With a guitar cab you usually don't want to hear anything over 5k because it will sound harsh. If you are using a digital modeler with cabinet emulation, you be ok but straight amp tones won't sound good. With what you are describing I would look into a possible ground loop or try powering the Squier from a different power source and see if its better!
@@eriwebnerr Hey Richard, thanks for your input.
Uncle Ry-Ry said not too bad.
Nice démo peavey HP signature exp find one use in the ad of région i think i Will Buy IT but that guitar i was playing it in 2005 but they sold it at that Time 350$canadian but now it as double the price 575$ Canadian dollars in the used market nice guitar ! Nice playing !the best démo of that guitar but to bas you change the original Peavey pickup
i suppose my 150 doesnt has this function

Hey Richard, she's working out great 👍 Thanks Again !!!!! Got the old Vox Night Train working on that speaker break in 😁
Thanks Richard, I'm gonna try the Kustom 10" Monitor with my Vox AC4TV after finding out I can run an 8ohm speaker and achieve more output power.
Awesome - let me know how it goes if you can. Just don't forget to disconnect the tweeter or it will sound shrill!
@@eriwebnerr Okay, Will Do 🤜🤛🎸🎼
I get the drum sound but not the guitar. I have guitar I'm and out to amp.
Nice Try, could be affordable for quality and price point, but in my mind these core amp and and drive sound of these multi effect its too sterile, reverb modulation and delay is enough satisfy
Nice touch!
what are the settings used please? i'm trying to get a blues sound like this one on my RP155.
Great Demo - 5 Stars

Uncle Richard... I found your RUclips 👀
:-D Hey kiddo!
Richard Webner Heheheheh
Seems to work ok. Decent tone.
Thank you sir. Need to disconnect the tweeter for sure but the woofer seems to be in the exact range of a guitar speaker. In fact Quilter pretty commonly uses some traditional PA speakers in some of their cabinets. Definitely gives a versatile speaker option :-)
Nobody slaps my Columbo, lady!!! *slaps her down*
Can it work only with headphones without connecting to an amplifier?
Yes - you could just connect headphones if you wanted to and do the same thing - hope that helps!
@@eriwebnerr Thanks Richard!
Too funny!!!
When you do a video the first thing you should do is strum a chord unplugged and let it ring. If the guitar is loud and sustains well acoustically it will sound good plugged in. We want know how long that e chord rings acoustically. Tell us about the shape of the neck. All the bass and mids showed up as soon as you went to just the amp.The guitar sounded so full with just the amp.cool guitar I paid 250 bucks for a cherry burst from GC used
No
efects???? and modulations please!
Hello my friend, I found an EXP Signature on the net. Please inform me about her neck profile and fretboard radius...please, please...because seller does not know
A little hard to remember. I don't have the guitar any more but I remember it feeling pretty modern but not overly so like an Ibanez. Had a really nice playing neck. I would say 12" radius and a C or D shape profile - HTH!
can you look and drum at the same time? I can figure out how
sounds great'' man '' I just a squire strat with the hotrails'', if u could please help me with changing the bridge? I don't care for the bridge'', and I didn't pay much for it'' so I have a little room for some mods to make this a really decent guitar'', thank you, .john.
I bought one over a year ago still enjoying the multi guitar effects and the drum patterns also the editing possibilities, last me forever?
Lol, when he showed up I'm surprised, I thought it's one of Mark Wahlberg's guitar video when he's a teenager. Kidding aside, did you still keep the guitar? I found a used one, still excellent shape, costs $450 usd. Almost near a brand new PRS SE. You think it's worth getting?
how can i high the tempo bro ?
I can't do this
Anyone know the drum setting for Brown Sugar - Rolling Stones? Thank you in advance!

MI MULTIPEDALES RP155 PARA SER MI PRIMERO ESTA BASTANTE BIEN
Any idea on what year your guitar was made? I have essentially the same guitar as yours. I think these guitars were made in the mid 90s but I'm not sure.
+byteblock1 Hey, I really don't know if they made these in the 90's. This one I bought new around 2010. So they were still being made at that point at least. This was one of the offshore versions though. The USA made versions are some really nice guitars.
+Richard Webner yeah the one I have is made in Korea. from what I understand the Korean ones are very high quality you get a lot of bang for your buck on the Korean models. I was just curious as to any idea when they were made. because if you look them up on sites such as Musicians Friend they are no longer offered for sale.
Hey man, question: I have other single pedal effects. Would I be able to use this pedal with other stomp boxes on a pedal board without any problems?
Guerrillablackdog Yah you can do that. I thought it took overdrives and distortions pretty well. I would think it would be ideal at the end of your chain for amps and reverbs with some drives and maybe modulations in front of it. Hope it works out!
Can you disable amp/cab and use just effects?
Veljko Blagojevic Hi there - yes you can :)
Hey Richard, has your pedal given you any problems such as two pieces you press down with your foot?? Mine don't work any more
Hey Raphael, I never had an issue like that with this unit but I did have what you describe with a Line 6 M9. If you are willing to take a little risk it might be worth opening the unit up. A lot of times these cheaper digital units will use a plastic mechanical switch to touch a smaller contact on the circuit board. If you find it's just a problem with the switch mechanism and not the circuit board, you can usually rig something up to make it work. Hope it works out!
Thanks for the feedback. I did open up the back board but it seems there must be a hidden screw to remove the circuit board.
I get the drums when i have it connected to my amp but i cant seem to get any sound out of the guitar ive tried usb and different aux cords for input and still nothing
hey i have the same pedal and when i play the drums T8 it reminds me of a song and i forgot the name. it`s super cool, it starts with 2 measures of drums and then enters the guitar .... do you know the name ?
Hey sorry I don't. I don't even have the unit anymore to check. I would try the soundhound app on it and see if it finds a match :)
Richard? cota richard?, thats amazing, The guitar practice I see has paid off.
dont you think the fact that you cant use looper and drums together a major error with these rp series i find it frustrating if it wasnt for that this would be one of the best value for money boxes out there... the drums are awesome the effects less so but ive added a rp7 valve board to it for some extra bite! to ummph up the heavy rock effects with more success
i just have 1 question how can u set the pedal example the left pedal is grunge and the left 1 is heavy metal how can u set that?or i just browse by numbers of preset?example i want clean chorus in 1 verse of the song then i want to switch in metal distortion how can i set that?sorry for my english hope u undestand pls reply thank u
Hi, this should be easy to do. You would set up a patch for your clean tone and then the very next patch for your heavy tone. You could then use the foot-switches to go up an down to change back and forth from clean to dirty. Hope that helps!
thank u sir im planning to buy soon. il keep u posted if i have some more question thank u
Thank you, i was hesitate to buy a v16 , very rare in France & now I'm shure gonna buy it ! Good play'in Richard !
Could I loop a voice through this? Is there a built in microphone, (like if I was just playing the acoustic guitar unplugged would I be able to loop it)?
If you're using a pedal, you're obviously not unplugged. And no, it doesn't loop vocals... which would also require you being "plugged."
Can i use this function with a keyboard/synth (motif)
You can. The unit is designed for guitar and meant to take an instrument level signal. But if you turn the amps off and keep your synth volume low going in, you can use the drums and looper with the synth. You could also use the effects on the unit with the synth (like reverbs, filters, etc.) if you like.
