£27000 try another contractor 😂😂

don't you need safety railings on the other side of the hot tub ?
Hi! Do you mean the side closer to the house or away? The side closer doesn't need one because it's less than a 22" drop (I think that is the requirement). On the other side away from the house, we don't have one since it's not a sitting area (more of a drink rail). Great question! Thanks for watching and subscribing !
🎉
Thanks TOM!!!
Love it!
@@EdwardAsbury thanks Ed!! Hope you are doing well. Been too long!
Thanks for the video. We’re right in the middle of our remodel. It includes an IPE deck. Looking for a cable rail system. What model rail system did you buy from Cable Bullet. Planning to call them next week. Thanks and great video. 6:14
Hi Ron! I love that we're on the same journey together! How's the remodel going? In terms of the series, we used Signature Series in "midnight" and ours is a Fascia Mounted (i.e. the posts are mounted on the outside of the deck and not on top). Midnight means black hardware and black cable. Do you know if you want to do a Fascia Mounted Post or Top Mounted Post? Tell them we sent you!
I’m not sure on how we plan to bolt on the posts. We’re fastening the IPE deck boards from below. Not crazy about putting holes in the IPE deck boards. We are also using IPE on the face boards too. So, it’s going to have to go thru one way or another. I like the idea of using IPE for the top plate. I’ll definitely mention you two. Thanks for the info.
Also, can I ask a favor? If you haven't subscribed yet, can you give us a follow? ❤
Yes, I liked and subscribed 😊
@ronmillstein gotcha! As you know, ipe is so hard that it will be tough (but not impossible) to drill through to mount the brackets. Cable Bullet does supply the drill bits necessary, but just double check they will work through ipe. We used timbertech pvc for the face boards. Keep us updated!!
Ya know, at the 6:20 minute mark, I loved Noelle even more.
Awwww! I'm glad we captured this very upsetting moment so we could show how we make TONS of mistakes
When its sunny outside, does it feel hot when you are underneath the pergola?
@shauninuman1638 I don't think so. Usually it's cooler in the shade, and plus since the sides are open, I don't think the heat traps in there.

Sand and oil and it will last your lifetime.
@joyd3825 you are absolutely right! We may let it stay grey for a few years until we want to switch it up. We like how it contrasts our brown siding. Do you have an ipe deck too? Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. If you haven't yet, can you subscribe to the channel? We have a new video coming soon with more ipe wood that is sanded and oil for our railing.
Do Americans really say ‘pergerler’??!
@@M1IT hahaha. I guess so. It's even worse with a Philadelphia /Delco accent. Where are you from?
Your pergola seems to be my product
@@Pejerro wow! That's so cool! It's a great pergola! Did you see our other pergola video.
It turns very beautiful!
@lonelyally thank you so much!!!! We love the weathered grey look. I appreciate you watching and commenting. If you haven't yet, can you subscribe? That helps us out a lot!
where did you buy friend?
@lonelyally we found this on a Facebook Marketplace. Check out the full Video to see how crazy it was. I recommend looking for used material If it's high quality Ipe wood
Hi I wonder how is standing this pergola now after 2 years?
@EduardoAMarin great! We just posted a new video about redoing our deck boards, and you can see the pergola in the video. Check it out. We also are going to post a new video with new drone footage of the peegola and exk in a few weeks so make sure to subscribe if you haven't yet. Thanks!!
B - No question
Option B has so much classic charm. Timeless. ❤
I love it! I feel like you've doubled the square footage of your home with this project. I'm so jealous!
Thanks Lynn! So glad you dig it. It definitely is a huge deck that is almost the same footprint as our house! If you ever wanted to redo your deck, let us know!
Can you just come a build me a new house!😅?
Aneesah that is a huge compliment! hahaha. If we had more time and unlimited resources, we would absolutely build you a house!
27.000 USD is too expensive for that bioclimatic system. Even double movement (piston + tubular motor) systems with home automation is normally half the price of this.
Hi! The $27000 price referred to a custom built pergola that would attach directly to your house. Those had motorized louvers too. The DIY kit we got was only a few thousand dollars. Thanks for the comment! If you get a chance to Subscribe, we'd greatly appreciate it!
shouldn’t u be on the roof?
Yes! I'm glad you got that reference!
Overall fantastic! I love the vision, and brave execution! Tweaks: the pancakes would be better truly recessed, and the grout/mortar needs a better match. You can repoint the lower stone to match the new upper stone, and then it won't look like two separate areas. So impressed!
@saltwaterpurl thanks! Appreciate the comment! I think the grout matches better now that it has dried more. If you haven't yet, can you subscribe? That will help us give more updates on projects!!
Beautiful, where’d did you guys get the parts? 🙏🏽

You have a gap similar to mine between the house and pergola. What did you do to mitigate as rain will get you wet when going in and out of the house.
@nardeezy it's true! The gap does exist, but it's maybe a few feet at the most, so it's a pretty quick step to get dry. There's nothing really to prevent the rain getting through in that area except to place the pergola flush with the roof, but we don't want to do that. Thanks for commenting and hopefully subscribing!
@@HouseofHuie understood. We installed ours October 2021 and although it’s not a problem sometimes it can be nuisance depending on the storm. We have a similar gap and the second story roof gutter does overlap a little but if it’s raining hard with wind it definitely gets wet in between the gap. We’ve experienced some heavy rain where it’s not so windy and the gap is dry because the rain is either blowing in the opposite direction or straight down. I’m researching on a simple plastic awning that I can attach to the house or a custom plastic polycarbonate piece that I can adhesive attach to the pergola to eliminate the rain.
@@nardeezy please keep us updated with what you find. I never thought about a clear awning! That's a great idea. 👏
You americans pronounce Pergola wrong. Otherwise good video
@@MrDeano-eu9rg hahah. Are you British? I'm wondering the correct pronunciation now. I promise to look up the correct way if you subscribe!

Will it leak rain ? Heavy florida rain ?
@@fritzs1207 we haven’t had any of the louvers leak and we have had it for a couple years now. The water won’t seep in from the top. However you will get water coming in from the open sides if it’s really windy rain, but that will happen with any open structure. Thanks for watching! If you haven’t hit the subscribe button yet, can you give us a follow? 🤛🏻
Cheap ass tv with large bezzels reformed to look like a picture frame 😂 thats all the Frame TV is
@ftsfrosty2 thanks for the comment! Your opinion is valid. What do you mean by large bezels though? Do you mean the digital mat or the white bezel?
"Assistant to Noelle", Lmao.
@@LissetteLissie thank you for catching that!! 😄
Amazing! Great job guys! Can't wait to see it.
Do you get snow where you are? If so, how has it held up?
@davidg5290 we are in the Philly suburbs so we do get snow from time to time. So far it's been fine. However you should open the louvers so that the snow doesn't stack up on top. The manufacturer recommends not to let the weight of the snow stay on top. We forgot to do that a couple times this winter, but thankfully it is still operational! I don't know how much snow you get though. Thanks for stopping by! Like and Subscribe if you can 🥰

@user-yr5tt4th3x thanks for commenting! It's definitely a classic beautiful style!
How much was it?
@@vaquerareggaetonera hi! It was around $3000, but check out the link in the description to find out real time prices. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your experience with this pergola. My husband is hesitant to buy it because the area we would need to put it is directly next to our master bedroom, which is on the second floor. He mentioned that when it rains here in the Pacific Northwest, it will be loud with rain hitting the louvers. What is your experience of the “loudness” during rain?
Thanks for messaging us! I don't think it's that loud (next to our living room). It probably also varies depending on your windows/doors and how much insulation they provide. I'm about to drop a video specifically about this topic in our Shorts feed. Make sure to subscribe if you haven't yet so you can know when it releases. Thanks!
Hi! Did you watch the new shorts video?
Your hair looks like it could double as a bird's nest, and I'm pretty sure a family of sparrows might move in any day now. That pompadour is so big it needs its own zip code. When you walk into a room, your hair must arrive ten minutes before you do. Seriously, it seems like your hair might have a better social life than you-it's always standing out, trying to grab all the attention. That pompadour is so high, it looks like you're trying to pick up satellite signals. You know it's bad when even Elvis would tell you to tone it down. with love.
Hahah. I'm so glad my hair got your attention and its own roast😅 thanks for watching!
It really does look good. I like the flexibility of it in different sorts of weather. And the savings was definitely worth it. Your teamwork paid off and you did a really nice job. *Love your hair dude!! ~ New Subscriber*
Thank you so much for writing! We love hearing from you. I'm so glad you like it. It's been a life saver for us on the hot days. Also I appreciate the hair love!!!
As a photographer, can I have it display my own work, or do they lock you into their gallery?
Great question! Absolutely Yes. You upload via their app (you could do it on your phone). We have some pictures up there from vacations which add a nice touch. As a photographer, you could probably also market your images to be used for the Frame TV... Just a thought! You could have the photos already cropped to work perfectly for the Frame to make it easy for folks to upload.
I wonder how it would fair in a hail storm? In Texas, we get a hail a couple times a year sometimes up to quarter size.
We've had hail, but I can't say it's as "big as Texas!" Hahah. So far we've had this for 2 years and it's held up.
I could just imagine how damn noisy it is when it rains .
When we are inside our house, we don't notice any extra noise. If we're outside, then it can be louder. Check out our Shorts video where we play the violin outside to get a feel of the noise.
Hey mate. May I know where did you purchase the louver system kit please?
Hi! Check out the link in description for the exact pergola we purchased! We've had it for 2 years now and have been super happy with it.
What were the costs?
Hi! Thanks for asking! We actually detail all the costs in another video we made. Check out our page for the associated video. Let me know your thoughts!!
Great job ❤!!!!
Thanks so much!
What’s this man’s monthly hair gel budget?
Hahaha. Should I do a video on how I do it? I think it will surprise folks
that deck is bigger than some apartments.
100%. We totally agree this is a “1st world” problem!
@@HouseofHuie Beautiful home, beautiful family. You're blessed.
@@GalacticTradingPost thanks so much! God bless!
you answered my question about the rain. I'm looking to replace my traditional overhand patio roof with something like this and was wondering about rain protection. I'd butt it up against my house a bit more to avoid the gap. Question: what size did you install? It looks like multiple kits put together, but I guess the extra poles are to support the extra long length. EDIT: nevermind, I see the sizing options in the description. Thank you!
Thanks for writing! We love hearing from you. It's a 20 x 10 and as you saw in the product link, it's all one unit. For the rain, the closer you put to the house, the less rain will fall in between the gaps. Based on where you want the louver arm, you may not be able to butt it up flush with your house. The louver arm juts a couple inches from the frame, so just be mindful. Of course if you have the louver arm placed opposite the side closest to the house, than you can butt the pergola flush against the house. Let me know if that makes sense!
for a sec i thought you were talking about your wife
Hahahaha. Comment of the year!!
What about snow? I live in chicago
Hi Jim! Great question. We had about two snowstorms this year where we averaged about 5 to 8 inches each time. The pergola vendor recommends opening up the louvers before it snows so that the snow doesn't pile up on the pergola... we FORGOT to do that. The snow piled up on it so we couldn't open up the louvers. We had to wait until it mostly melted. That being said, the pergola is still working fine and completely operational! So I would always follow manufacturer recommendations to open up louvers before snow, but we didn't and it did fine.
I rather use a channel of bondorized aluminum with Sillkaflex to glue it down.
Thanks for watching! I like your method but it seems a little more labor and cost intensive. It definitely would be stronger though and hold up really well!
This looks like an imitation of the made-in-Sweden Hanso Pergola. The Hanso comes with a 10-year warranty, and it looks like there is no warranty with this one. But $2500 vs $10k for the Hanso is a BIG difference (Albeit, the Hanso is wider @ 13x20 vs 10x20)
This craziness looks like something I would cook up. Can't wait to see the final product!
I had "Philly Phlipper" on my mind during this. Haha. I could totally see you doing something like this!!!
This dudes hair is outrageous
No shit it’s wild how much a simple hairdo can make you look like a complete tool.
🎉 thanks! 😂
