I’m curious if you ever watch any of the fan made Genshin impact videos. There’s one in particular that I think would really ignite your interest even further in the game if you haven’t seen it already.

For those who don't know Xiao's signature dish is called sweet dreams... The lore behind it is terrifying... and explains why he really feels like more of a burden to humanity.

To answer your question on how I choose what characters to get, I really like going for supports before anything else. Furina, Nahida, Xilonen, Xianyun, etc. Because they can be used in many different teams. Of course, I do go for DPS as well, but they're much rarer for me, and I tend to go for meta dps like Neuvillette. Finally, despite being F2P, I go for multiple constellations and signature weapons for the few characters I end up getting. I've been playing since launch, and I no longer see a need to get a huge cast of characters since I already have enough. I'd much rather invest more into the characters I like and want to play, rather than amass a large amount of characters that I'll almost never use. As an example, last year during 4.x I got Furina C2, Neuvillette C1R1, and Xianyun C2. During 5.x, so far I've only gotten Xilonen C0R1, and I'm planning on Mauvika C2R1 depending on how good she is when she releases, and after that work towards Xilonen C2. It's not a lot of characters per year, but since I play Genshin because of the exploration stuff first and foremost, it's enough for me. I probably have to pick up some kind of DPS character as well, but to be honest, none of the Natlan dps have interested me a lot, because I find them all to be clunky and cumbersome to play. I might get Arlecchino one day, if my primos allow it.

My preferred version of immersion in new regions is not necessarily using only that region's characters, but only characters who aren't realistically doing other stuff. So Bennett, Fischl, they're with the adventurer's guild and might realistically go anywhere. [redacted] and [you haven't met]? They don't have any issues anymore after their stories. But other characters have pretty defined jobs and habits and would not help Aether run from the law in another country. Or maybe story events make them funny to have around. I used Venti through most of Inazuma (a traveling bard heeds no borders!) but took him out of the party when helping the resistance, because Kokomi forbade the soldiers form drinking, and well Venti absolutely wouldn't have any of that! He was replaced by Childe, who absolutely would sign up for a dangerous war with few questions asked. Addendum: Though I also practice a different form of immersion antithetical to a lot of people: I don't visit statues of the seven unless required for a quest, until i finish the main story. It's a lot more exciting to explore the darkness before instantly revealing large portions of the map. Earlier areas of the game do a decent job of making you go deep into an area to unlock the map, some other regions will just show you everything immediately a few steps into them, and that's no fun.

Genshin is overhated by people that have simply grown tired of playing it. Burn Out exists in gaming, naturally, but what those people do not understand is that they treat genshin especially unfair. If you play your favorite game for thousands of hours, no matter which it is, you will eventually grow tired of it and most of the last bits you played might become dull, unless you leave for a while and check back when the feeling of freshness or nostalgia returns. Such is the case with every game. I could bet a big sum of money that, if Genshin didnt exist and release at the same time as current Wuthering Waves instead, it would be more popular still, by far. Completely disregarding that Wuwa wouldnt even exist in the way it does without Genshin, but Genshins overall quality and new player experience is simply stellar.

Energy Recharge doesn't generate more particles. It is a multiplier for the value of the particles for that character. Yelan having 200% ER (which is an appropriate amount for her) will only cause Yelan herself to gain double the energy from paricles. Raiden(who also wants between 200-250% ER) will actually generate more energy for the whole team if she has higher ER.

I'm a huge fan of watching videos of new players share their thoughts on Genshin Impact - especially when they realize just how much depth the game offers - how much value its art provides. This, by far, has been my favourite of this genre of video. I appreciate a lot of the thoughts you shared and felt that this was such a beautiful assessment of a beautiful game.

1:08:46 personality wise my favorite characters are Yoimiya, Kaveh, and Xinyan. The timed event stories made me love Kaveh and Xinyan. But my all time favorite is Childe. (and I agree, Kaeya too).

Welcome to Genshin! I started early-ish--1.9 I think, so right before Inazuma's release. People hadn't decided they hate Inazuma, yet, certain materials were very difficult to grind, and mobs and puzzles were significantly more difficult than either Mondstat or Liyue (they've since rescaled and fixed those issues.) And I loved everything about it. I had so much fun exploring Inazuma and that's where I really fell in love with Genshin. Every nook and cranny had something new, every area had a couple puzzles to figure out. It's the first region I 100% all areas, and now I've done that with Fontaine, my new favorite. I'm so jealous of you getting to experience it for the first time. Yeah people will tell you how to play or whatever, but ten more will tell you to pull who you want and play however makes you happy. Get to it, bud. Have fun in Teyvat. I sincerely hope more people come play and figure out how great this game is.

The thing about this game is that it wants your *time*, ALLOT. Especially when you have to put time on grinding and VERY LONG dialogues in story, having a lack of time for other things that are fun in the game would feel painful to play especially when you have to go on a long journey just to reach the fun parts in the game. I'm just saying that Genshin definitely is amazing IF YOU HAVE TIME FOR IT. Atleast you can stream and take in all what makes the game special. Just not for everyone. 😑

I really enjoyed Bennett's hangout and recommend that you do it when you can. It doesn't affect anything else that I know of. . . I think the VA really sold the character of Itto. Without him, nobody would've fallen so hard for the character. He deserves mad props.

I figured you'd be another one of those gamers who tries Genshin for the first time, gets part way through Mondstat and then just quits. Pls take your time💗 also it's okay to play the game off stream and tbh i kinda miss your earlier playthroughs coz they were more chill. This mixed feeling toward Genshin is pretty normal that almost everyone goes thru and i can imagine new players getting burned out faster due to tons of quests and a lot of characters to build. Personally, when i feel tired of genshin, i still play it haha but only to decorate the teapot.

Konri after doing Itto's SQ and before diving into the Sumeru's AQ I highly suggest that you tackle 2 AQ in The Chasm first. One is with Dain and the 2nd is with 3 of your favorite characters: Yelan, Yanfei, and Kuki. Both AQs are lore heavy and I'm pretty sure that you'll love both.
