People are much more accepting of difference now.

Those shoes were really popular in the early 90’s, they are the Reebok pumps. The pump mechanism he’s pushing would fill up plastic bladders with air in the tongue and heel of the shoes to create a nice firm fit. They have released them again over the year since then, including this year for the 34th anniversary, minus the air bladders in the heels though, just only in the tongue area now.

I love how this movie doesn't acknowledge half of its jokes and there's buried comedy gold I always find in this gem down to the sets, background characters, facial expressions and reactions, tone of voice, etc. all while thinking what exactly was going through everyone's minds while on set of these amazing movies during each and every scene😂 I love this movie so much and I'm glad other people still do too!
No one ever questions this but that's not normal at all! Shoes don't explode powder?! I always forget this movie is a parody like scary movie but it feels more like a totally different breed
That whole segment when he tries to adjust to life in the 90s was rad. It was hilarious and kind of sad at the same time. The sequels really lacked that poignancy, and instead stuck to slapstick and gross out jokes almost exclusively. That's why the first one was by far the best. Also, random observation: next year, the 90s will have been as far away from the present as the 60s were from the 90s. Holy crap!

This one may be the better movie but Goldmember is far funnier. That movie just wants you to have a good time and it succeeded.
