1989 Jeep Wrangler YJ- Did it Just FIX ITSELF? What am I missing???
DIY valve job. You can handle it for sure.Reuse the head gasket. If not to hard pull the pan and check the bearings. Nothing to loose but money.
That car 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 and the winch is a jackpot
its pretty rad right
Being a mechanic and having a 1980 Datsun King Cab 4X4 with the L20B, you were killing me at first as I watched you do this wanting so bad to be able to help you work on this thing. I did not think these 2 plug per cylinder engines were available in the 81 . ( I was wrong) I do know the 80 was the first year with the independent front suspension though
it seems to defy most of the common knowledge on the internet, it has a t83 head with no other marking and the engine is stamped z2.2
Before you send anything off, I just got to part where you asked if any info that may help, I have had engines that sat for years and in a engine some valves are open adn some closed when sitting if all the hardware is connected, being that long I would suggest some valves may have rusted or gummed up to stay open, try spraying some pen oil on each valve in spring areea as well as the stem underneath (Block side then take a rubber mallet and tap each valve adn I bet they will seat back down just fine in a few taps
i did some of the tapping tricks, plus turned it over a bunch once the timing chain was on right... its still in progress... spolier alert ion the next video the valves are bent... dunno know... just know that they are
Very fake to me
that truck aint even real man
Thank you for trying! The Black Friday Promotion will start next week! The MIG200 price will be down to $339.99, the lowest price, during the Black Friday Promotion period!
Stumbled onto your channel and was disappointed. Very little mechanical work on the Datsun truck too much talking and nothing to show. There are so many guys on YT doing videos on car restorations, bringing cars back to life after sitting for 30 years in a barn somewhere. The competition is fierce and there are some good mechanics showcasing their talents on their channel. Sorry buddy, didn't work for me. Good luck.
Hey man I am not for everyone. I like a lot of those channels … not gonna argue with you. If it’s not for your it’s not for you
I've seen these reviewed by a few others ... Theirs and your reviews all point to it being a good starter. I look at it as an upgrade just for the inverter technology being so much smaller as space in my garage is really limited. Nice review man, keep it up!
that is how they are marketing it ... and i really could not describe this in the video but essentially it seems to be a very good, low cost inverter machinonly e, and it even claims to have to have a 60% duty cycle... my transformer lincolns have a 20%... by all of the specs it is a professional shop ready machine, just being marketed to beginners at an entry level price..
Sometimes spending more money doesn't mean you get a better product. I know that for fact. Been down the road.
that is really the worst... when you put hard earned money towards what you believe is a quality product, or name brand to be disappointed or duped... and its really hard to tell... Thats why i appreciate getting to try this stuff out first hand and share thoughts with people who are doing the best research they can to spend their money wisely
Just found your channel amd subscribed! Great job on the roof. Hope to see more videos of the shop restoration!
Thank you very much, its a big help. there will be a lot more on the shop... and we haven't even begun to unpack the house on the property... there is a lot more to go
@betweenthesharksgarage well good luck! I will be watching for future videos. Thanks for the reply!
I have a Lincoln stick welder that I had refurbished and I have a Lincoln 140 mig that I use with.023 wire for sheet metal. Two years ago I bought a Yes Welder that does stick, lift tig and mig. I run.030 wire on it for heavier stuff. I also have a YesWelder plasma cutter. They are all on two carts except my old ac/dc Lincoln stick. I built a rolling platform for it. Glad to see you’re back on the “T”.
I went with the MiG 200 as my first MiG got it on sale a a great price compared to other brands out there exactly 13 months later was welding it shut down and popped a code for over heating the fan wasn’t working I contacted arccaptain thru customer support email after a few emails and pictures checking some things they asked me to do they apologized I had had trouble with it and sent me a new machine. I was extremely impressed with them and would not hesitate to recommend their products. I have since added more products from them.
It’s great to hear a first hand good customer service experience… bummer about the welder. But still if the warranty was honored I would be happy with that personally
Thank you very much for your kind words!!!
Seems like a good deal. If you get a chance to test their tiny portable welder, curious how that tacks out in the wild. A nice tool for fab up something big outside like gates before you need to pull out the real welder and get it done.
I haven’t looked into that one but I am really curious about the tig they have. I love my Lincoln. But it’s maaaaaassssiiivveee
Nissan 720s are great trucks.
Dag Man, I'm sold! I really haven't gotten beyond a Horrible Freight unit. It's good to see some work on the T. Thanks for the review Bro! ...Newk from Kentucky
I am impressed with it. It’s cheaper than any machine I have bought and I would rather use it than my tried and true lincolns… the controls have so much more fine tuning.
Man I had two of them. One was a 81 and the other one was a 85 I believe and I loved my 81 I drove it for along time until my power steering pump went out and parts are hard to find where I am from or they coast to much. Don’t give up on it once u drive it I will fall in love with it.
First comment please pin
I mean, it could be a candidate for SBC swap. As well as a solid axle swap?🤷♂️ But I would first give it a bath and assess the the rest of the truck.
Looks like you could use about (6) 18 yd trucks of fill to start with. Don't disturb tree roots. Roots keep the tree from falling on your house.......
The windows look pretty good. Worth at least $100 each. I have the exact same trailer and if I lived closer I would come get them
90% of couldnt work on it then...IYKYK :)
you got a Mad Max spec truck, if 700 is what keeps you from a running truck and a giant lawn ornament, pay it. if it doesnt work you can scrap it? i love the old 80's series nissan and toyota trucks, so id vote to get it up and running.
I had a 82 720 4x4. I had all kinds of problems with the 4cyl. I ended up putting a 280z strait 6 in her. That wasnt easy had to clearance a lot and have an adapter built for the trans. BUT wow what a rig afterwards. The proformance difference was insain. Low end and high end. I never understood why more people didnt make that swap.
Lol. I think you answered your own question… I have put a lot of motors where they don’t belong. It’s a process. Fabrication, adaptors….time …. Money. You have to personally want it enough I guess.
Ever since discovering this channel this year, I’ve got to say I’ve been addicted to watching your vids. Very chill to watch and educational in seeing you work through any issues that you come across. Keep up the great work!
I really appreciate that. Thank man
Definitely worth putting the effort to nto.
The fence looks great. Great job.
my old datsun would start with ANY key lol i used a house key once and it started...not much for theft protection lol
man i tried every single one lol
almost no window and not safety work
What are you doing with my retirement home?
That metal is not like shingles as you don’t stick to it like you do with shingles. Congrats you did it and did an awesome job plus saved yourself thousands!
thank man.. its like playgound slide up there... but good ol fashioned sneakers did the trick
Post will rot out first. Would have used old oil pipe. Nice though
thats an interesting idea... but i have never seen used oil pipe... what part of the country has it
You lost me at mongo! 😂 just kidding, still enjoy the videos
Man us goofy footed kids can’t get no love. Lol. Thanks man
@betweenthesharksgarage 😆 one of my best friends growing up pushed mongo, so it's ok with me, no judgment here lol. Keep up the videos, they're entertaining no matter what you're doing
you can get rough cut lumber at a local saw mill cheaper than a box store. and if you ask around you will find individuals with smaller saw mills that can help you on that also
Found you channel, watched a while and, subscribed. I am a, shall we say, mechanically challenged, 62 year old, learning on a 1966 Buick Wildcat with a 425. Information is good, I need to learn
glad you enjoy it thanks for watching... man on man you are starting with a great one the king of the nailheads
Just fix it
nice work man
Another reason for multiple tape measures. U are bound to loose one.
i am bound to loose multiple... i need to start hiding them like easter eggs... that way when i go looking i might get lucky
New subscriber. Good job. Now sell the old tin to a homesteader. Make a few bucks back.
Thanks man i appreciate it
I think your fusion fence with roofing panels etc looks great.
thanks man
Bullshit, a non interferens engine will NEVER touch the valves regardless of rpm Probably the same shit they told the previous owner when they sold him an entire new valvetrain It needs 8 new valvesprings & a lot of Turtlewax, love & care 😉
welp... I can tell you with 100% certainty the intake valves are bent... there will be details in the next video on the truck. This is the first one of these i have worked on so I can't say how it happened ... but I can assure you and everyone else... its possible to bend the valves in one of these.
The timing chain marks are only there for initial setup to help with align and will not lineup again with the crank and cam timing marks until after numerous revolutions due to differences in the amount of chain links vs amount of cam/crank sprocket teeth.
that makes sense now...after i have messed with it but coming from chevy engines it really confused me.... but now i kinda get it based on how many links there are and how many are on the slack side in the tentioner... the critical thing is how many links are between the cam gear mark and the timing gear mark on initial set up, making sure the side driven by the gears is correct
I have good machine, how can contact you ❤
New favorite channel, would love to see that truck running!
thanks man! working on it more videos to come
we use a nibler to cut sheets
do you recommend done
I know what this is like. My work vehicle, a split screen VW Bus has no working fuel gauge. Have to carry spare fuel at all times and i'm no stranger to being on the side of the road waiting for the carbs float bowl to fill.... Still, i love just rocking the bus.
Yea dude I get it The bus sounds awesome. … you learn the quirks and adapt. Like Fonzie and the jukebox
Love the Car Content and the Building content too!
Thanks for the feedback And for watching in general
Catatrophic motor failure, no body left, biohazard interior...You said it, money pit. Sell the winch, it's worth good money. Get a couple hundred bucks from the scrap value and walk away. You'll thank me later.
you must think i look smarter than i am
That right there is a green roof bro. People pay $1000s for a setup like that ;-)
i should have just gotten a goat... i mean roof lawn mower
Buy some new valves and put em in. Lap them yourself. This truck is cool! There must be a title for it somewhere?
i should be able to get it registered here in georgia without too much trouble
@@betweenthesharksgarage Good to hear mate!
Puddinsfabshop loves these trucks and buys them & gets em going again has a few on his channel
he has a great channel
