Are the timing parameters also proprietary to HW motors, or can it work on any 2 pole motor? What other parameters will work with any 2 pole motors?
@@mattr2533 Before I answer, I will be releasing a new video for the XR10 pro Drag Racing ESC. That is compatible with all motors. As for your question, the XR10 pro series is open to all motors, the rest of the lineup are compatible only with HOBBYWING motors if you want advanced timing.
I have a question about the throttle softening value, when the applied throttle gets above the set range does it instantly snap back to the unsoftened value or does it gradually return the timing to its unsoftened value?
@@stp440 it will decay up to the value, This way it will not be a sudden change. Think of it as Anti boost
If a burn out is required before each pass will it hold up during the burn out?
Every time I try to download a file from the ota it freezes at 3%. I can’t figure it out
Is this for the xb2 conversion?
Quick question on the R1 board. The cat pack has holes to solder To , on the yokimo, there's no holes on the board. Where do you like to put the cat pack wires? Thank you?
I add it on top of the + & - leads.
@@RCstreetwars would it be a problem if I solder it on the underside of the board on those solder tabs
@powermadracing5116 it would be just fine to do that, just don’t de-solder the cup from the board.
@@RCstreetwars thank you Gary I appreciate it man have a great day thank you for turning me on to this ESC
Question about acceleration is 10 the highest or lowest?
10 is the Highest
Interesting. Having gone 2.2 with my HW XR10 pro , I've just installed the XR8 pro and I'm hoping it can deliver a lot more amps and get my Losi 22S to a flat 2 on a dry tire . I do like the throttle map using the OTA , similar to my R1 car . Thanks for the info .
Hope you’re doing well, ask any questions you might have.
@RCstreetwars I do indeed have a question ! I'm running the new large HW drag motor 3662 and I have installed an XR8 pro to run it , I was then told the XR8 pro won't supply turbo or boost timing to this motor ! Is this true ?
Very helpful tools for me 👌🏾
Recommend the newer rpx3 for drag?
Is this for good for 2 pole or 4 pole. The 10 and 10 dry tire boost and throttle tune?
4 pole, and auto throttle for “base” For 2 pole (Boost / Turbo) X2
Hey, Gary I'm not on Facebook. If you will be at Armageddon, can you please save me a jug or too? I'll come to your table and buy it
No problem, I will have some for sale, also on the website. rcstreetwars.com/products/traction-compound/track-claw-ultimate-dry-tire-race-formula-53197350
@@RCstreetwars Much appreciated
@@RCstreetwars If I could ask you a quick question? What front weight percentage do you like to run with dry tire?
@@powermadracing5116 I try to be around 35% to the front

Is the Yokomo RPX 2 drift the same as the R1 in your Shop i don't find the esc and you shipping it do Europa Austria nice day
Yes, it is the same as the R1, I am totally out of stock, but I’m getting more in and I ship and service worldwide
Hey Brother I am wondering if you can help me I changed my password on my R1-WURKS WI-FI ADAPTER MODULE and I forgot it is there any way that I can do some kind of reset on it or be able to reset it to default password of 1234567890 to get me back into my ESC Thank You Brother for any kind of help you can give me and God Bless ✝️ Sincerely Clay B.
Unfortunately you can’t reset it.

Hi I'm not sure there's a more thorough video on the Hobbywing settings out there ! Many thanks for the work
Glad you enjoyed it, please ask any questions you might have.
Hi, many thanks for this video. I'm usually having a hard time soldering my electronics. Could you possibly give some refs for the stuff you are using ? Wires, flux, soldering ... ? Many thanks in advance

Asome how you buy the Yokomo Esc
Hello, msg is at info@rcstreetwars.com
I've never run tire warmers before. How long do they need to be on for?
Warm the tires until they feel more than warm, I get to 180 degrees Fahrenheit
How can i set my hw g2 xr8 pro to reduce the torque of my 1900kv on buggy 1/8? Thanks
Use the softening valve and range, increase drive frequency or both
@@RCstreetwars now I have 30 soft range and 50 value, 20k pwm , throttle rate 15 but at the exit of the corner if i push the accelerator i have too much torque
@@awastyle9198 it sounds like you’re just going to have to take all of your torque reduction tools and set them at the points that produce minimum torque and adjust from there. This includes throttle rate control. Make sure you have your smoothing range and smoothing value set to maximum, I do not recommend any more than 24K PWM.
@@RCstreetwars OK, thanks a lot. you have to adjust the accelerator in every corner to make it accelerate well and not slip. it becomes difficult to be constant on the lap. Throttle curve or speed on radio control can Help?
on throttle rate: I personally always use 30 and try to reduce the agressivness of the motor with other settings (boost, softening, drive freq, timing). Because you need that quick power response. Throttle rate works with a bit of delay and i hate delay. I want the power when i need it. Especially while beeing in the air. This is true especially for 1/10th carpet/astro racing
Awesome information, I definitely see that for 1/10 carpet/astro racing
Asome Video How nows the Esc he run a 4 Pole Motor
When do you use the flux
You use Flux on the wire and the cups prior to adding the solder.
Thanks. Informative video
Will the data logger work on an rtr drag slash?
Yes, if you have the HOBBYWING Esc and the OTA on your Drag Slash.
for $300 they can keep that thing. Give me a DVM and a shunt resistor for $20 and can do all the same things that thing can do. Also what's the point unless you are super serious into racing? Then again if you are that serious you will already know how to use a DVM.
The point is to make $$, I do enjoy watching the videos people have done doing comparisons using them
I see you are using an RPX2, the PRO4 is physically the same hardware as the R1. I started playing with it for about 3 months but have an issue when try to apply timing. It's like the esc don't like 4 poles. I got slower with timing. My best w/o timing is 1.61. have you tried to use the PRO4 esc?
I have not tried the PRO4 esc, send us a msg through the website and maybe I can help you further.
What do you set your can timing at?
Well, that's a difficult question because it is dependent on a few variables. Our motors sold through us receive a support package (complimentary) and they go out preset depending on the needs of the client. A good general starting point, not knowing anything about your needs will be 15-20 deg of actual timing measured on a professional tool. If you don't have a quality tool, then knock the can marks back 5 deg. That should be safe as most motors are preset to about 30 deg from the manufactures, but not all, so 5 deg of timing marks is safe. For more information on motor timing visit our website blog section for technical articles that should help you. rcstreetwars.com/blog
Great video Gary My question is we have abou 6 to 8 renegade cars here on the island so the rounds goes quick. If I do all this at home and at the track just keep doing burn outs on carpet either dry or simple green will I still be having the effect
Yes, absolutely! This product differs from others because it’s not a treatment to just the surface, but it physically conditions the rubber all the way through. If you just clean with Naptha in between rounds and then apply heat, You’ll be more than good. You only need to reapply for maintenance reasons, and if you are trying to reach a different level of grip, the more you use it the higher, the grip factor will be this will come at the expense of increased tire wear Feel free to email us directly for more information
Cool video gary, just curious what foams do you like to run on high prep high traction surfaces?
We specialize in 0% prep RC Drag Racing. True No prep. So we are normally on regular surfaces. For us we enjoy the challenge of true no prep as it allows us to focus more on chassis and motor tuning, rather than just surviving the glue.
@@RCstreetwars understand Gary I just see a lot of the videos on fat boy racing with you and the group at the topend and I thought you guys were running prep 1.5 1.4 range
@@powermadracing5116 We only run true No prep, dry tire! and to a large extent, this formula has been instrumental in our success, because it just allows us to tune the chassis, and put the power to the ground.
@@RCstreetwars Okay thank you for your help
Thanks for doing this
No problem
Did you put 4000cst in the diff?
Yes I did. I ran it. I thought it actually ran very well. Ultimately I went to 1 million mainly because I wanted to get to a baseline of which I was familiar. I am going to explore the light diff oil in the near future.
Ok, cool. might have to try it. I wanted to k ow what's all the fuzz about the new exotek car @@RCstreetwars

This has been the best video hands down I have watched for getting an understanding for tuning. I am just starting and have asked several times for the data you referred to but no response. I have R1 540 4 pole and their DC1 kit. Would you have any data I could use? FDR, RPM range?
I would be happy to help you can you just go to my website and message me through there?
🙂 "promo sm"
My car flips at the finish line when I let go of the throttle. Any ideas why as far as tuning? My drag brake is off.
@playmoremuzik couple of things to look at is ur body that will cause that to happen how strong is ur brakes in the remote
Also, I haven’t put on a spoiler yet but ordered one for Christmas
Thank you for your question a little bit more information would be needed. Is this before you apply brakes, after you apply brakes are you actually able to complete a run and then run into a scenario where your car flips or crashes?
I was under the impression that turbo only starts after the e s c throttle is at a 100%. With no Turbo delay.
I believe I did my best to explain this in the video Turbo is the name we give to dynamic timing that is activated by a full throttle trigger. Once that trigger is met if there is an additional qualifier such as turbo delay, then that will be taken into account before the Turbo timing will start to be applied. One thing to note that there are some companies that will have a R qualifier for Turbo, and sometimes throttle and RPM qualifiers. This is very brand specific and only a few brands but in general, Turbo is the name of timing that is applied when the radio signal reaches 100%.
@@RCstreetwars No Gary, you did a great job. I just wanted to make sure I did understand and thank you.

Is the yokomo the Same a the R1
Yes, 100% but a little better in my experience. I explain it in the first few minutes of the video.
Hi Question: Do you use stock Cap Pack with Yokomo RPX2 esc?
Yes stock cap
What would be the best Yokomo to buy that replaces the R1. I see you have the Yokomo RPX-II but it looks like there is a newer RPX-3 now. Would that one be a little better? Also if I had a R1 esc would a Yokomo wifi module work with it or would a R1 wifi module work with a Yokomo esc? I really like the Yokomo comes unsoldered! Those R1's can be ugly to unsolder Thanks!
RPX II is what you want, the “Racing “ version
RPX II Is what you want “racing “ version
Great information, we need more of this in the NPRC area. I got a little careless soldering my beautiful 8 gauge wire, modded R1 esc, had my motor wires flipped and fried the esc =( Is it fixable?

For anyone who may be watching this video I’d like to share with you the work that we’ve done is years in the making. We’ve actually been doing this style 2021. This is years of development that we are now bringing to the public for free. I have attached two images that are screenshots with the date that they were recorded and you can clearly see the date 2021 . We’ve been making these videos privately, Supporting, racers and customers for several years, but we have now made the decision that we were going to bring this to everyone for free. Our goal is to help. Everyone do better at the sport and have better success. This way the competition is better and we can all go faster together. The image is below are from a HOBBYWING XR10 pro, that was used for no prep drag racing. This was a very popular Speed controller, especially at the beginning of no prep drag racing.
Thank you simply Thank you!!
