Well, this gave me an idea that I better get rid of mine. I thought I could make it be colder than it is now but, for what you are showing, it is not too much these coolers can do.

Thanks for the disassembly overview. For reference the heating element/motor mount does come out separately. It's held by 3 small screws and a 7mm nut which holds the element and motor to the frame. Once that is removed it exposes the Plastic wheel which holds the magnets and is pressure fit to the shaft of the motor. That plastic magnet holder cracked on my unit which caused the motor shaft to spin freely as it lost the pressure fit. I super glued the plastic holder then added a drop of super glue to the shaft and pressed the assembly back into place. Allowed the proper adhesive cure time and reassembled. make sure the magnets are oriented properly, one set on mine were loose so I placed them on the magnetic whisk then slid them back into the plastic housing with a drop of glue. Working again, time will tell for how long.

It does a good coffee but half of it ended up in the pod tray. I bought another machine so I could get my fix & decided to pull the old one down to work out why it was shagged. This is a very well built appliance, its cheap, but it is also plastic. Hence its price & perhaps some built in failure points to ensure tight fisted buggers like me have to buy a new one. The failure point on my machine was the plastic dish that pricks the pod immediately before the outlet. It sits within the outlet cover and pricks the small diameter head of the pod. Being plastic rather than metal, the pricky bits (x12) start to wear away so they are no longer pricky. This means, as in my case, only 6 of them were pricking the pod hence the leak into the empty pot dispenser. All up about tuppence halfpenny with of plastic disrupting my morning coffee.

Forget it I’ll find an oven that operates by itself

To remove CDs stuck in a SHARP 5 CD player unit like yours (large black plastic unit) and other similar models eg Model CD-MPX860H or CD-SW300H or CDG14000 and perhaps more models using this CD player type deck take a look at this excellent video which explains the disassembly process to retrieve the CDsIt's also usefull if one wants to perhaps troubleshoot that assy ( Spanish language but easy to follow if you dont speak spanish) ruclips.net/video/CWybdFplQ50/видео.html

I have a prima donna avant and cant get the top panel off, are you able to help me out? Ive removed all screws but the grind dial in the bean holder pot keeps trying to come up with the top panel as I need to access heating element

I learnt a vital lesson here, and avoided a mess. Keep the whole motor upright so as not to have oil all over your work bench when removing the cylinder head (at 17.34 mins to 17.55). Do this by wrapping the motor in a big old work sheet, (Swiss roll style) enough to give it a tight fit then place it in a plastic builders (12 ltr) bucket. Now you have two hands free to work more efficiently. Do the same when replacing with new oil.

"Teardown" is an appropriate title. You f**king wrecked it! The small "rivets" on the bottom are actually screws and the key to disassembly. If long nose pliers won't grip them, cut a slot in the head with a Dremel blade and unscrew. The rest is easy.

Where can I get a screwdriver bit to undo the bottom plate? The live wire has come out of ours. I just need a bit like you used at 10:00. Many thanks

Most of this is out of frame. Running it at high speed, only shows that you don't know what you're doing. Best to perform a dry run first. I don't know much about tearing down an appliance, but I do know my way around a studio.

Hi Andrew, our grinder got blocked with a small piece of metal from our coffee storage container which we removed. The top part of the grinder which sits on the cone now spins and comes loose and the beans just spin around. We get the fill beans container message. I’ve tried locking the top piece in place with different positions but it keeps moving. I’m not sure if the grinder tray needs to be removed for an adjustment which I can’t see. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
