    Did the bolts ever leak in the hull? I am considering doing this to my 12 foot flat bottom jon. Was the stability improvement significant compared to without?

    • @wisdomandthewoods7422
      @wisdomandthewoods7422 4 дня назад

      @@benbialas9339 Hey bud, thanks for the comment. The bolts have not leaked a drop to this day. The stabilizers made a HUGE difference on this boat. Placement will play a big role in how much stability you get and how fast you get it. I have a video where I added stabilizers to a 10 foot flat bottom Jon boat. How To Stabilize a Jon Boat ruclips.net/video/0BCIJJCK-EU/видео.html I keep adding my stabilizers higher up on the boat (above the rib). That is just in case I want to use an outboard motor, a higher mount will have less drag and plane off easier. To get better stability faster I would think mounting below the rib you would have the stability at all times and not just when you have your weight on one side of the boat. To get back to your question, the difference has been like night and day for my particular boat.

    Good bit of fishing at the end, first time i have seen floats on a boat well actually it is the second the first was a video you made quite a while back i was looking through your videos trying to spot part two and found this one,when i look at how they function you have to rock the boat pretty good before they even touch the water, the angle of the boat is sprtty steep when they touch, wouldn't it be better if you were to lower the flats like 4 inches closer to the water? that way they would function earlier and there would be less initial tilt being more stable quicker?

    I love my KLR, and my other Kawasaki motorcycles I've had in the past, but their warranty service sucks. It took them a while to adjust this, then it started doing it again. Also, on a 6 day road trip it started leaking oil from the base gasket. I took it in when i got back with oil all over it and the dealer kept saying they don't know where it's coming from. Drove it and still didn't know where it was coming from. they kept my bike for over a month saying they were trying to get the warranty department to let them replace the base gasket. I called the warranty dep personally and they said they have no record of the dealership contacting them. The called the dealership and they fed the same crap to the warranty department. Now i had both warranty department and dealership giving me the same bull crap. In the end i picked up my bike with no resolution from the matter. The dealerships suck and so does kawasaki warranty. If the floats were lower it might not have as much tilt before the stabilizers actually do their job. Just spitballing ideas. The wife and I went out yesterday and I got my babtism in 30ft of water when it rolled to one side and dumped my fat ass overboard. And of course, she only weighs about a buck twenty so there was no getting back in the boat because she doesn't weigh enough to hold down the other side while I get back in. Should put that thing lower.. Like at the waterline so it will stabilize it immediately. Go for waterlin mount,

      I may do that on another video. I keep putting them higher up to keep from having the stabilizers ploughing through the water. Trying to get the best of both worlds. I do need to experiment with mounting some lower so that they are working full time rather than just when the boat is leaning to one side. I do think that it could possibly risk a false sense of security though, creating a tipping point (or a fast tip spot) once the stabilizer is so far down in a lean. Higher up, you have a clear reference point being the water line. Good ideas. Thank you for the input.

      @@markmitchellsr1837 I put them where they would just touch the water with the motor on the boat. Thanks for watching.

      🤣🤣I just may do that! Nice to have a celebrity watching. I’ve put about 450 miles on the new TW in the last week. Thanks for the inspiration, I see why you had to have one now.
