Royal Arsenal Narrow Gauge (RANG) Railway Crowdfunding video
Just a taste of the work being done by the RANG railway volunteers at Crossness Pumping station. An iconic piece of Victorian engineering, the Pumping Station was opened in 1865 and dealt with the sewage from South London until it ceased being used in the 1950's and fell into disrepair. It was saved from possible demolition in the 1980's and since then it is being lovingly restored by an enthusiastic team of volunteers. The RANG project team hope to provide easy access to the site for visitors by installing a narrow gauge railway operating both diesel and, hopefully, steam locomotives. Work is well underway but funding is of prime importance for materials and machinery to make the project...

Then moving outside you will see the boiler generating steam for the whole site. Then there are some smaller engines before we move into the original pumping station. Here you will see an interesting horizontal engine with ...

Short road run in a 1920's Ford model T open top tourer. Apologies for the sound quality.... It was very windy in the back. I believe it was a 2.9 litre engine developing about 20HP. Top speed around 45MPH.......

1945 Lister D-type. Restored by myself. Restoration completed 2009. It is a 2hp model running at 1000 RPM. The trolly is built from oak and is loosly based on the original Lister trolly. The engine was in a very rusty condition when aquired. It has been totally stripped and rebuilt with some new parts, some remade parts but mostly restored original parts. It is finished with zinc primer and 6 c...

Crossness Engines. Prince Consort Beam Engine
I had one of these back in the seventies, mine was green and in the West Midlands, near Coventry. I've often wondered what happened to it! My plan was to swap out the engine for either the Suzuki 380 or 550 two stroke. Because like the Excelsior, it was a dynastart, which meant I had to stop the engine flick a switch to reverse polarity and restart for reverse gear lol. I also owned several Reliants (vans & cars) and a Ranger Cub Mini kit car, THAT WAS FUN.
The qualitys awful and you didn't even break anything...
What do the initial boilers and pistons do? Are they building up speed in the main flywheel? If so, how do they adjust to the high speed of the flywheel after it speeds up?
I’ve watched so many videos about this estate 👍🏻 I find it fascinating and the buildings are out of this world !
Time to take the brasses up
This is beautiful, I've stared at this for 5 hours.
Fantastic engine, almost unreal. A good video.
Beautiful place, full of swans
I want a RELIANT ROBIN OR RIALTO to drive in FRANCE ! I had a RIALTO when I was in IRELAND ...
Thank you, Simon and Kirsty. Excellent work from the two of you :-)
if it was abandoned you shoulda smashed the place up! me and my pal Tony from school find places like this where we live, we go in and bust the windows !
Misfits eeeeee)
great way to decapitate a swan.
My mum still lives in Thamesmead, sadly it's changed since my childhood

great shots
H&W also had a yard at Wolwich on the Thames
i always wanted to get myself a bond bug never got around to it, these little 3 wheelers are ideal for the town runs its a pity in 2016 that no car producer is able to build a small town car like the reliant range of vehicles, other than the indian tuk tuk.
Haha very good...did they really change their hats like that though?
they should restore this place nice to see it running again
Hate to tell you this but H&W DID have a yard in Glasgow--I HAVE SAILED PAST THE SITE MANY TIMES!
you've got the same spec as mine, my D was made in 1947 as part of a portable milking set and was purchased for the grand sum of £300!
Undoubtedly the most important blue plaque to be put up ever apart from the one on Handle/Hendrix, s flat in London.
they are not even made of plastic they are fiber glass
how is that funny to damage somebodys car you dont just roll them back over it leaks brake fulid so brakes have to be bleed battery acid leaking door handle pushed through the fiberglass what would be funny though is if it happened to you even if you have 4 wheels could still roll it
I'm pretty sure that this is a 1905 style and NOT a Akroyd.
You need to lose the pin striping, motor meter and chrome rad emblem to make the car correct. There appears to be some sort of gauge on the left side of the dash. Incorrect for sure. Hopefully the owner can fix these problems.
He is worried that the rugged Robin may be there, ready to get revenge and mount his Mini's entire front end on a plaque.
As a reliant owner i went past an old mini cooper once. I gave him a death look but he ignored
I wish I could come in my '85 Rialto. But, she is currently in Essex, and is actually leaving the UK to go to a safe haven for Reliants: the U.S. (no haters and no breakers). This time next year, she will be cruising on the other side of the road bearing American plates, never again to be called a "plastic pig".
Nice vid, However, Harland and Wolff Is In Belfast, Ireland.
What a clear clean video with crisp clean sound thank you! Will.
This is a fascinating bit of footage of a Victorian Wonder that surely deserves proper preservation there can be few more impressive surviving examples Victorian engineering in Newham. A I understand it the nearby lovely Abbey Mills Pumping station has long had it inner workings removed. I pass by these wonderful places most days whilst walking my little Bichon Frise buddy Snowie, and have shared my knowledge of Abbey Mills with numerous passers by curious about that remarkable building
Yes, the Reliant gathering takes place every year at Tamworth. Unfortunately, you have just missed this years but there will be one again next year. Check out 3-wheelerscom
Nice to see - is there anything like this still going off, I'd like to go with my Robin

If you don't like, don't watch. I pity the people who can't figure out how to chose something they enjoy on RUclips. Perhaps you are spelling 'Mindless idiots' wrong in the search bar. Im sure there is something on here that would apeal to your mentality........ perhaps some childrens programmes?
Better, how?
Very attractive set of engines from a location not known to me.
Fascinating to see these old engines.
Great fun! I remember Police cars having bells, but this one sounds like it's operated by the driver? Would this be the case?
They were electric Winkwong Gongs.
Excellent! I was the other one filming at 1:00. Please check out my video. Dan

Wonderful! Terrific job. What a terrific old steam tug. A treasure, really. Thank you for posting this great vid.
@eastcliffrichard she been repainted now though.
@gilessmokey These were a great design. Fibreglass monocoque and front wheel drive. Genius!
I want a rabbit again lol
@theshipman It pumped all of the North Londeners shit. I'm not shitting you. Maybe the biggest shit pump in the world. Fuck it must stink in there! Lol. Great piece of Victorian engineering.
Is there a bearing loose somewhere in the works causing that knocking sound?
нужно было подземную часть поснимать...
