Nice video, but, what is going on at 8:39?
Bigfoot likes to hang out at our video shoots. Sometimes we get to see him…
I also am here in the pnw we use 1/4 minus instead of clean i never knew you could use clean i thought you needed the minus for compaction
How many blinks can you blink? haha :)
Can I use regular send wet the one on the plastic bags
Yes, any regular sweeping sand should work.
Could you please let me know the name of the blocks and the vents or links for purchase? Thanks
Hi! Here are the links. westerninterlock.com/products/murata-solido-corner/ pavetool.com/products/quick-e-classic-vents?_pos=1&_sid=5df19cccb&_ss=r
Why are the blocks shaped liked that? Why are they not rectangular?
So you can make a curved wall without cutting them.
Can't learn anything if I'm too preoccupied on spotting a sasquatch 😂
Really? Where?!!!
That worked great! Thank you!🙏
You’re welcome!!
The 3:41 saw is the paving-equivalent of "draw the rest of the owl" lol :p
2:28
Nope. I didn't see a sasquatch. No, sir.
Essential Craftsman sent me here
I already have a rectangular concrete foundation in my yard. Probably 6' x 4'. I'll check out your other videos, but what exactly is drainage. Is it wise to build the fire pit around the foundation or on it?
Drainage is slope or pitch to accommodate water run off instead of pooling or saturation which can cause damage or issues through freeze thaw cycles or increase the rate of degradation. You can for sure build a fit pit on top of existing concrete so long as you consider that the fire pit may translate the slope of the slab and not be perfectly level. Build up of ash can also leak underneath the blocks with rainfall so you may want to put an insert to hold the wood and make the cleanup easier.
Spraying the hose onto a 240v saw doesn't seem like a good move if you want a long life.
Can I add some sort of binder to the fine dry sand? If so any recommendation?
We would recommend sealing the project with a joint stabilizing sealer!
@ thank you for responding
my liquid gush through the cracks. So very wet. It annoying smells like fish in the back drain
Big strong tools and small near fingers... What can go wrong?
@5:35
what were the cylinders in the backfill for
Those were added so the homeowner could put in a fence later without disturbing the wall.
Didn't even give a decent look at the 3 stone I pattern
Here is a link for you. westerninterlock.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Pattern-Sheet-Three-Stone-I-080521.pdf
Super clear, great video! Glad I found this channel
Thank you! We are too!!
Thanks
Interesting that the cut pavers are closest to the door. I'd do it the opposite.
It’s really just personal preference.
That 3 inches equals one gallon is a nifty trick I hope I remember. Watching some of y'all's videos because of the Essential Craftsman video.
Glad we could help out! And thank you!!
Im sure do ...
I have always heard propane was cleaner.
Great video. Question; if I use just regular fine sand and then use a sealer on top of it (essentially sealing the sand in place), that should generally help keep it in place, and act as a weed deterrent, right?
That is correct. Some sealers are made for doing that anyway!
What a great tip!
Glad it was helpful!
I was counting on you to give a little more information such as what it is safe to use to apply it. It seems that a sprayer would be fine?
We recommend a plastic watering can.
thanks very much for uploading
Very informative and easy to understand. Thnx🙏 The test patch idea is priceless
You’re welcome!
Never breathe into those fumes produced by the muriatic acid
Maybe dont give electrictian advice dude, amps and watts are different ways of measuring the same thing. Not something to be converted between
Actually you can convert them! Watts = Amps x Volts Example: 10amps at 14 volts is 140 watts.
How tall is this step? You said 25in total high, including 10in below the surface level. That's 15in if I got this right. Isn't it too high for a step?
That’s the height of the landing. With the small step in front of it each rise is 7.5”.
Could you lay direct on the concrete and use a glue for each paver or some type of grout/sand in the end to better lock them together without doing the sand step?
You could, but that seems like a lot of work and glue when you can achieve the same thing with sand.
Poli sand is to expensive
We think it’s a great option.
I have sealed my porcelain paving but now when it rains the water just sits in pools and beads on top of them is this normal?
We do not have experience with porcelain pavers but yes, that sounds normal for a sealed surface.
This video is so awesome
Amazing 🤩
Thank you!
Gravel is better than that shit
People always trying to make a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist with cheap crap that costs twice as much and will break in half the time. Congratulations.
We recommend reading the benefits here. alliancegator.com/gator-base/
There might be a self-evident answer, but if you've just recently put your pavers in and find that there are a number of uneven areas, is there any reason why you can't reuse the existing sand, providing you don't mix it with the paver base below? I made the mistake of waiting too long to compact my pavers and it looks like some areas compacted themselves a little unevenly. Thanks in advance for any responses?
No there isn’t any reason you can’t reuse the sand.
Thank you for this excellent video. I learned a great deal. Good Scoop, carry on Sir!
Thanks for your kind advice. I probably use reisn sand filler or fine stone to fill the gaps. Once again thanks mate
Wet cut pavers while old mate hoses the saw down. That is hilarious, I am shocked...no pun intended.
Its not always ideal, but possible. Thanks!
I've seen polymeric send specific for driveways
Correct. Some will work and are rated for driveways.
Flawless video
Thank you!
where is videos number two. this was really good
How about showing us
Stay tuned for next year, that video could make the roster!
why dont the inner pavers sit higher than the glued pavers since they have fabric and sand under them?
They sit just under an 1/8" higher. It's just subtle with the cobbled edges meeting. Thanks!
