    Hi do you know what the two small hoses are that you point to at 3:31? I'm replacing mine 10 years later and they were never hooked up originally, I'm really perplexed about it. They have the same plastic caps that my replacement came with with hoses never attached.

    My 2003 330 does not have an electric fan so it’s kind of different … more difficult to remove.

    4:28 ....why is there a "T" fitting on that hose you removed? I took both of my hoses off from 2004 Buick Rendezvous, there are no "T's" fittings, is it because I don't have a Rear heater option? thanks. What are the part numbers for the GM Quick Connect fittings that go the the Heater Core? Those are two different sizes, aren't they? Thanks. - Alfredo

    Quick tip: Do make a photo of the big belt before you remove it so you know how it goes round all them rolls... especially when you got a friend over to chat. It is then way easier to recall how it was put on... trust me. And don't ask me how I got this idea :D

    I do appreciate your video, the exceptional viewing angles, the tips, and your calm, helpful voice..... Alas, the job at hand yet another of the maintenance hellish reasons GM went bankrupt..... maddening, anything but as easy as your video would have us believe. Try as I might, I simply could not remove those miserable, "quick connect" (but never disconnect) fittings.... (would like to have seen you actually do that real-time, rather than simulated..... really? ) Likewise, those clamps are a nightmare to access, even with the special clamp tool (which I did get)..... I've been at this mess for weeks on an old 2000 Montana..... so frustrating.

    This is the auxiliary fan switch sensor, the coolant temp sensor is located on the cylinder head towards the back under the intake manifold.

    Thanks, I found the Top aux belt tensioner is easier with a 16mm socket at the left side rather than a t50 in the centre. Also I believe the fan removal applies to manual cars only. I did my auto 330 petrol e46 today and the fan is bolted to the water pump. Required a 32mm open spanner and a whack clockwise to release. There is a recommended tool to hold the shroud in order to loosen the nut but a sharp whack to the spanner did the trick. Re assembled same method.

      This is true, manual e46s have the single eletrical fan, if you have an automatic it's a good idea to do the double fan delete and use the same fan manuals come with. Less chance of having the blades destroy your engine bay, and you never have to deal with taking that fan blade on/off again

    Hello everyone. To clarify some things in the comments below a hex and a Torx bit can both work in the same fastener but one will usually strip out the other. They both have the same hexagonal shape when you look at them closely. But as always try to use the correct tool for the correct job and you won't destroy the fastener another word stripping the whole the tool goes in. I do believe originally there all torx bits but not sure what size goes where as the one on my car is also stripped I could be wrong but I've seen it more times than not. Happy wrenching

    I'd love to eliminate all those plastic T's and bypass the rear heat on my wife's Pontiac Montana. Has anyone attempted this?

    • @hugh3rdof5
      @hugh3rdof5 4 года назад

      Don't think we can eliminate those T's..... you can get them fairly cheap via AAP (though local stores rarely have them)..... Some GM dealers will have them too. I'm wondering if I can get away with replacing the all the custom bended hoses with gentle bended straight hose.... maybe not for all

    When putting in the new sensor or after you have replaced the o-ring, it easier to connect the switch and the wire clip while the sensor is out. Then simply push the sensor into the socket until it clicks in place afterwards. Replacing this sensor got rid of the 599 code on my 2005 X3.
