    If anyone is trying this in 4.1/4.2 it's possible you need to turn your Y velocity up some. Try turning it up to 50-200. You can also try turning up the Sampling in the domain object to spawn more particles.

      100% this video has become dated rather quickly. I have recently started with 4.1 and have found that things have changed for blender liquid sims.

    Hi! Very helpful. I have a question - my fluid is not smooth on the top like yours is. It's very bumpy looking on the surface (before the animation has even started). Any suggestion? I followed your exact steps and Im on blender 4.0

      So you can try and increase your resolution a bit. It can vary with the different versions of Blender.

    Thanks for the tutorial! Does starting with a plane make this possible? I modeled similarly but using an archemedian curve so the planar fluid selection won't work. Any ideas?

      Hi there, thanks for the comment. You should still be able to use it as long as an end is open and the water has somewhere to go

    @VG Leviathan is there a way to fill a pool up and when it reachs max the water stops flowing, its for a game I am make with UE 5 its going to be a Coolant Pool for a Reactor.

      This is an interesting project does it only fill up once? If so you could use key frames to stop it when it gets to the right point switch off the flow

    while i do think you explained it pretty well and it is helpful, i think if you just showed the steps clearly and edited them effectively with some post pro commentary this whole video could have been 5-6 minutes long, which i would like more... but still nice work

    Four spheres of different sizes and colors were designated into the particles and pressed bake, and the particles changed randomly for each frame.Why is it changing so much?Can't it be fixed to one thing and flow? My English is not good enough, but I hope you understand it..

      Definitely! Cycles can be pretty resource demanding and time consuming.

      It's very possible that your cache is corrupted. In which case you may have to re do it with a fresh cache

    I mistakenly rendered as an mp4 format, can I pause and render later?

      So there is a way to do that. You can stop the render, make a not of the last frame, then when you wat to render again. Start your from the next frame. For example you stop at Fram 65 then you start your next render at frame 66. The stitch the video together either in blenders video editor or one of your choice.

      It is the default, though there is a flip fluid add on (Premium Unfortunately) that gives you greater control over the build in system

      Difficult to say without seeing it. Perhaps check of you have baked the rest of the data first.

      If your sphere is too small you domain resolution need to be raised making the particles smaller

    The fact that it started all with a small vertex of a plane and ended up being a pipe with running water is mind blowing! You also solved my problem with respect to water flow through the pipe not toward the gravity!

      You could definitely. It's just for customized pipes this method works well as you can use different shapes.

    I can't get the "blue" particles to show at all, unless the Doman is very small, or if I increase the resolution to a very high number.

      Your liquid source object must be bigger than the tiny cube at the corner of domain. That's why you have to shrink the domain or crank up resolution. I just figure it out today, this problem bothered me for a long long time.

    I cant assign separate fluid types to different objects? it changes all the objects to flow or domain or effector.. anybody have an idea how to fix this? i tried separate collections. didnt help.

      Could be the particles are too large so try raising the value of the resolution in your domain settings. Or it water being left behind in the pipe.

    When I do the quick liquid option, nothing happens…I’ve been trying to solve the problem for two whole days :( Sometimes there will be fluid, other times not. If I don’t put the sphere inside the tube, then it does work though

      It could be that the resolution of the liquid is too low to pass through the. Try increasing it when in the pipe
