What sort of parts are these 🤔
You can pick your date up with that ha
Many years ago I was planning to buy a Milling machine with a ProtoTrak Controller which is basically the same as your EzTrak. This was back in the days when Machine Centres weren't so user friendly with Conversational Controllers for making simple parts. It seemed like the perfect alternative for these parts. But unfortunately, the people who were bringing these Milling machines in with the Protrak controller had such a huge mark up on them it was almost cheaper to just buy a Machining Centre ?? They definitely make it nice and easy to produce simple parts. My only complaint would be lack of rigidity compared to a Machining Centre.
For sure the rigidity one needs to factor for. It is a brigdeport after all, you have to make sure everything is sucked up tight and low overhang, bolts on the head real tight. I have moved the head during milling. And have pushed the button prematurely and snapped a couple drills off clean. Lol
Hi, i just replaced the floppy on my eztrak DX with a 1.44MB USB Floppy Drive Emulator fr GOTEK ,it holds 100 floppys worth of data and i can post from fusion 360 with eztrak conversational post, to a usb stick and plug the usb into the bridgeport but you need to keep them simple to remember where to set Z height halfway through your program, you can also add a .txt extension to gcode files and it will convert them on the eztrak. If you hit F9 when its running a programe you can see the gcode on screen 👍👍Thanks for the video
What model # emulator, did you just transfer the boot file and change root directory?
@@helixmetalworks Model : FDD-UDD U144K ________ Got it off ebay, think it a clone of GOTEK, not sure the model number really matters as i have just fitted another one to a hyundai cnc lathe and it just worked straight out the box, only thing i had to do was format the usb stick when it was in the emulator, just hold the two buttons when you turn the machine on, formatting on the laptop didn't work for me I did this on a bridgeport DX model, it runs on a hard drive so no need to touch the boot file, sounds like you have SX model with only floppy drive it should still be possible to swap it out as the emulator has storage for 100 discs, im not sure how to do it but probably connect the emulator to same ribbon cable as your floppy and copy all files with the control menu, 9 key, then unplug your old floppy some ribbon cables have 3 or 4 plugs and pin one is next to the side with the tracer, they should also have four wires that are twisted between two plugs and thats how the machine can tell the difference between the floppy's
@@helixmetalworks Model : FDD-UDD U144K -------------got it on ebay £20, dont think it really matters, mine has 34 pin socket, comes with a mini cd which you dont need. i fitted it to bridgeport DX which runs on a hard drive and only uses the floppy for data transfer, sounds like you have SX model without the hard drive should still be possible to swap it over, im not sure but i would give it a go if you have an extra plug on the ribbon cable to the floppy, you can probably plug in your emulator and copy your floppy from the menu on the control box, pin one is next to the tracer wire, thats imporant as some sockets accept the cable the wrong way round you need to fromat the usb stick by holding the two buttons when you power the machine on, it will start countin on the display if its working, formating on the laptop didnt work for me I have just fitted another random emulator to a cnc hyundai lathe and it worked straight out the box, didnt come with cables and im not sure any of them do just remenber this is old tech, is runs slow and is not hot swapable,
MAKE THEM CHIPS ! :) :D
I just got one of those Iscar feed mills. As the kids say, it slaps. very impressive
They do scoot for sure, I punched thru 1.875 diameter 864 inches worth of material removal and didnt even see any edge wear. Only flipped the inserts cause I finished the job and felt bad for my iscar guy. Lol
@@helixmetalworks NICE!
Do you use mastercam? for the vmc.
No, I use bobcad v32 now, been on it since v3. It allows me to pick a ramp angle or depth per pass, as well as a lead in, out... I use it for the lathe, the mill, and when I had a plasma, for it as well. I customized the post for what I like.
@@helixmetalworks Thank you
It's good to see you have some decent work for the Mori Mill And great to see you back again with another video👍
Sounds good 👍
I'm guessing a job for the CNC Mill 👍
Thanks for helping me today Buddy ruclips.net/user/shortsvLvSLjX3l8g
Sssooooooooo beautiful!!!
Thank you!! 2 weeks of thrashing to make this basket case run for the toy run.

Cheep and smart kid

Finally, hit 600 Subscribers 🥳 👍
Just subscribed brother!
Good video, deserves a lot of views, shared with friends.
It's good to see you're busy with a personal project. For me no better project than Motorbikes. I rarely have time to ride my Bike much, mostly to do with too busy in my shop or family things to do. But, I LOVE just having it sitting there for when I Need to go for a ride 👍👍 I couldn't help not notice the Made in Japan brand on the fork legs 🤔 ( SHOWA )
Good job. I'm surprised you haven't got another powder coat oven or built one. Thumbs up, I approve.
Good video! Keep it up!
Got the New Inserts 👍
Good to see you back with another video 👍 $$$ for the repair sounds pretty close to what I would charge for a similar job. Trying not to be too expensive, but making sure you don't work too cheap ??? Hopefully you can get more work in the CNC machines. Especially for your latest purchase.
Ok...... and im taking a fat shit right now
Clean enough
You are humping it brother 2 thumbs up
Regardless of what $$$$$ you paid for this Mill. It's definitely worth it. Good to hear you're clear of anything owing on this machine. All you need now is, more Flanges to turn up 👍
It's good to see the Mori Mill running 👍 Curious, are you still running the Flanges from your previous videos 🤔 It seemed like you really needed this Mill to be able to get them done ?? I haven't seen much of them since the new Mill turned up.
Haven't had an order in 45 days, they will come back, he had some that were 42" that I couldn't do. :( need like a 52" vtl with live tooling.
That's awesome!
Speedometer, something I've not had since having the truck 😅 The Dash looks Very Good. I especially like the way everything is laid out and with a Reversing Camera 👍
What brand radio and backup cam
Reakosound rk7157 b It's simple and cheap.
Thanks for the video.
It's good to see another video from you. I hope all is going well in your shop with a fair amount of work coming in. It would be good to see the new Mori CNC Mill in operation, too 👍
Any chance of a video showing how the micro dnc is set up?
Great work as always
The Helix shirt is very cool! I wore it all over Madrid Spain and forgot to get you a pic, I regret that but did have intentions. Take care.
Cool work truck 👍
Get RJ started on his apprentice program, about the right age ;)
Fantastic build
? what are those parts used for
You da man
I learned something new today
Never too young to learn to weld!
Cops pull you over. Do you know how fast you were going down here ? I have NO idea... pointing to a dash with NO speedometer 😀
Thanks for yesterday showing me the shop and drone .see you next week after I order some crush bushings for the project
Love the videos and keep them coming with your son RJ !!! This is how it is supposed to be with spending time with your kids !! Being an awesome parent / role model and also teaching them a skill that has been lost in this day and age !! A father spending time with his son and teaching him a skill !! Keep up the great videos looking forward to the next !! Keep making them memories!!!
It's good to see a job running on the new CNC Mill 👍 The Forklift definitely looks like a keeper after a fresh coat of paint. Electronic band 🤔 I try the same thing with my Son. But, after seeing him pacing up and down like a caged animal, I usually give in and let him enjoy his Electronic world again 😊
The new forklift is velvet smooth and quiet, yes the mori is up and running, just need more work now. :)
👍👍👍
Nice work 👌 Happy Easter Easter.👍
I can't help to think, you look very tired. It's good to see another video from you. But, hopefully you can get some rest over the weekend 👍
